Now this I am shocked with, I rarely read a bad word about the Rihanna song but all I seem to see on here regarding 'Sex on Fire' is that everyone is majorly bored of it, that it's $h!t now and that 'Use Somebody' should've had its success. Imagine how high it'd be if people actually liked it?!! Although the size of this song was very surprising, I wasn't surprised that they became a lot bigger with their 4th album. A highly successful Glastonbury headline set and a half million selling 3rd album they were always going to grow in stature. With something like this it was always going to be a massive growth, it appealed to so many new fans as well as charming all of the old ones. Personally, I think I'm getting bored of it and then every time I hear that intro again I'm taken in by its charms. It's still fantastic.
February 4, 201015 yr I'm seriously shocked and surprised that Kings Of Leon are higher than Rihanna here. Good way though. I convinced myself I was bored of Sex On Fire, like you, but every single time I hear it it still sounds 'new'. Brilliant. Edited February 4, 201015 yr by BrayFish
February 4, 201015 yr It took a while for me to get into 'Umbrella' but slowly but surely I found myself really liking the track. Then it became the victim of overkill and I started to get bored of hearing the song all the time. Even my neice still had it as her ringtone about a year after its release!!! Personally, I think 'Don't Stop The Music' was by far the best single from 'Good Girl Gone Bad'.
February 4, 201015 yr The biggest shock for me so far is how low Gnarls Barkley is, now that IS a long running #1 and era defining track that deserved top 10 in this. :( ...but Gnarls Barkley isn't a solo female artist from America. Or Britian!!! Edited February 4, 201015 yr by Hitstastic
February 4, 201015 yr Disturbia's the best thing Rihanna's released in my opinion - I was gutted that it stalled at #3 :(
February 4, 201015 yr Biggest shockS for me... Gnarls Barkley LADY GAGA - JUST DANCE!! Disturbia's the best thing Rihanna's released in my opinion - I was gutted that it stalled at #3 :( THIS Edited February 4, 201015 yr by Darren-5-08
February 4, 201015 yr Author So, just missing out on the top 10... 11 Nelly Furtado 'Maneater' - 754 points (37 voters, 3rd in Heat 4) PLolag3YSYU UK Chart Run: 8-{1}-1-1-2-4-4-7-10-38R(23)-45-69-71R(24)->13 When the height of Timbaland domination started, this is a difinitive song from the hugely successful era he had. She'd had a few decent sized hits before but this new sound took her to a whole new level and 'Loose' was a hugely successful era throughout the world. .
February 4, 201015 yr NO! On the uphand, I'd like to congratulate BuzzJack for putting COLDPLAY - VIVA LA VIDA, the best #1 of the decade, in the top ten  Edited February 4, 201015 yr by BrayFish
February 4, 201015 yr Author Yes, 'Crazy' is far far too low. It's the only position I'm genuinely disappointed in. :(

February 4, 201015 yr 'Sex On Fire' is undoutably one of the 00s best rock tracks. It's success, imo, was definitely deserved in 2008. I remember when we used to work in Stockport and we tuned the work radio to X.Fm and they played this a good month before its release and I thought it was excellent. Then it see 'Sex On Fire' shoot straight to no. 1 on downloads was incredible and I'm sure it surprised a lot of people. Then people started getting bored of it after its use on The X Factor when the track got a second lease of life. It'd been a long time since I'd seen a track like this enjoy a second stint of chart success in the UK charts.

February 4, 201015 yr Author Yes, 'Crazy' is far far too low. It's the only position I'm genuinely disappointed in. :( Actually, looking at what's actually in the top 10 I should rephrase this to the only song I'm disappointed with how low it is...

February 4, 201015 yr 'Maneater' is excellent. If only it had managed to top the UK chart a week earlier. -_- When Nelly Furtado released her last album in Europe, she apparantly said in an interview that she actually didn't like the 'Loose' era because she felt it was the least "Nelly Furtado" (ie; she doesn't like dancing  ) so her Spanish (?) language album from 2009 saw Nelly return to her folk rock roots from her earlier albums.
February 4, 201015 yr 'Umbrella' is a decade defining song for me. Absolutely adore it, one of my all time favourite songs. Gutted to see it finish lower than the disgustingly overrated 'Sex On Fire'.

February 4, 201015 yr Author That sounds like a great top ten to me. Maybe not Manics though. That's top 3.
February 5, 201015 yr 60 Estelle ft Kanye West 'American Boy' - 376 Ack! Too low, another of my favourite #1s of the decade. Love Estelle so much. 58 Nelly ft Kelly Rowland 'Dilemma' - 388 For a song that was around so much at the time, I often forget this one, still sounds good. 55 David Guetta ft Kelly Rowland 'When Love Takes Over' - 412 Pleasantly surprised that this is as high as it is! Probably my favourite dance song. More of this Kelly please. 50 Black Eyed Peas 'Where Is The Love?' - 431 Thirteen year old me loved this, now it's a bit ehhh, kinda makes me cringe. Lots of their singles are better than this imo. 39 Melanie C ft Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes 'Never Be The Same Again' - 520 Pleased this is top 40, though it should have been #1. It's old, but it sounds timeless, Lisa's bit makes the song. I'd love to know where Rich is hearing this getting regular airplay though, the Spice Girls and their solo output is almost taboo. It's almost possible to forget just how huge they were. 36 Scissor Sisters 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - 522 :puke2: Scissor Sisters are one of my most despised acts, this especially. 34 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' - 531 Never been fond of this. I like it when covered though, I just dislike Gnarls Barkley. 33 Sugababes 'Round Round' - 534 Hmm...I slightly prefer this to "Freak Like Me", but this isn't their strongest #1. 32 Shakira ft Wyclef Jean 'Hips Don't Lie' - 539 Never been bowled over by this, good to see it quite low. Shakira's voice just grates so much. 31 Black Eyed Peas 'I Gotta Feeling' - 547 I think I predicted the order correct. Their worst #1 finishes highest. Average song. 28 Sugababes 'Push The Button' - 569 Surprised this isn't second to "About You Now" in terms of Sugababes #1s. :o 22 Christina Aguilera 'Beautiful' - 610 A proper classic, but one I have to be in a $h!t mood to listen to. 19 All Saints 'Pure Shores' - 629 Ooh, this is rather high! I like it, thought it was released in 1999 because I have it on cassette, but I see it was 2000. Not the best All Saints song, but probably their best from the 00s. 16 Pink 'Just Like A Pill' - 690 Deservedly finishes high, one of her best songs, so anthemic! 15 Tatu 'All The Things She Said' - 695 I only knew of this because it was a WWE Divas entrance music. I liked it, for entrance music, but I'm not a big fan of it in general. 14 Beyonce 'Crazy In Love' - 710 This is one of those songs that makes me go "BAH THIS IS SO OVERRATED". Then I play it and remember why it's actually deserving. 13 Rihanna ft Jay-Z 'Umbrella' - 710 Wow, this usually finishes top 10 in the record of the decade game, surprised it's outside the top 10. Bring back this Rihanna please. 12 Kings Of Leon 'Sex On Fire' - 711 - Painful. I didn't like it on first listen, I LOATHE it now. I particularly hate the Jamie Afro revival which led commercial radio to finally play it. I'm sure I heard a radio DJ call it a new song...in late 2009. :manson:
