'Pure Shores' My fave All Saints track from their career. Deserved to be a massive hit in 2000. William Orbit's production on the single is brilliantly atmospheric - moreso than on the turgid Madonna cover 'American Pie' that had been no. 1 the previous week!!! >_<

Its up there with Black Coffee, imo!

Teenage. Russian. Lesbians. If ever there was a way to market a new act then who ever was in charge of these two go it spot on. Unfortuately it probably hasn't helped them in the long run as it's all they're remembered for. I feel that they probably didn't need it either, given that it's a bloody good pop song that still sounds incredibly fresh today.

I do like that Arctic Monkeys track but I much preferred the first two singles released from 'Favourite Worst Nightmare'; 'Brianstorm' and 'Flourescent Adolescent'.

Interesting point made my Mark re; Pink. I'd have thought 'So What' woukld've been just as popular as 'Just Like A Pill' overall.

I couldn't agree more - first time I heard the song on the radio or internet (can't remember) I recall thinking that it was a guaranteed UK #1 - then I saw the video and became even more certain

fantastic song - I love all of their material actually, apart from their Eurovision entry which wasn't that great really, yet managed to come 3rd anyway...

14 Beyonce 'Crazy In Love' - 710 points (27 voters, 3rd in Heat 2)

A bit of a shock this isn't top 10? Although perhaps not given how all the other entries she's involved in performed in comparison. It was absolutely everywhere at the time of release, but has gone on to become a modern pop classic and really launched her as the one who was going to be the most successful from Destiny's Child. Think this not finishing top 10 is shocking? Then you'll definitely be shocked that the next song is only #13.......

Aah yes, t.A.T.u

I remember when 'All The Things She Said' became such a massive hit across Europe and I didn't understand what made the group so special. Bare in mind there was no YouTube in 2002 and I'd not seen the music video at this point. When I eventually heard the song I thought it was ace and the reason why it was so successful. Then it got released in the UK and I saw the video for the first time. Alas, the rest is history. Everything finally made sense.

Fantastic track.

I think I am alone in not liking Crazy In Love at all! I have never known what the fuss is all about.

I cant claim to be too displeased at anything in the top 20, though Dare is definatly my least favourite, so pleased to see that at 20.

Pure Shores is a classic imo and Hole In The Head always ranks as one of my favourite songs of all time.

I feel with Good On The Dancefloor, I can appreciate it now that it & I are a few years older, I remember being annoyed at the time there was a song at #1 that I hadnt heard  Now though, I can definatly call myself a fan of it, and them as a group to some extent.

Crazy In Love, another classic from Beyonce imo. 2003 was when I really did start to properly follow the charts and such, and Crazy In Love certainly helped with that.

I'm not that keen either... t.A.T.u on the other hand was an amazing track.

'Crazy In Love' is easily one of the highlights of 2003. I was shocked at the time that it was outsold by Daniel Bedingfield 'Never Gonna Leave Your Side'. I thought she had a fourth week at no. 1 guaranteed. Looking back I still can't work out what made Bedingfield's song so special - obviously it was a low sales week and he took advantage of it. -_-

Shock at no. 13? That'll be 'Poker Face' or 'Toxic' then!!!

Crazy In Love was excellent - it always takes me right back to summer 2003, which I recall being incredibly hot! (those were the days :drama:)

Beyonce's debut album being #1 all summer keeping Delta's debut album at #2 all summer annoyed me though :(

10 weeks at number one and a week shy of a year in the top 75, this was everywhere in 2007 and transformed Rihanna from a fairly successful popstar to a Global Superstar. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing it for such a long time, I thought this was a cert to be a contender for the top spot, I'm shocked that it's not even top 10. And yes, I have double checked I've awarded all of its points correctly.

I agree - complete and utter non number 1 - every other song he released got to #1  it was like a poor man's If You're Not The One and didn't deserve to top the charts at all -_-

Meh. It's ok. The 10 week run is most definitely deceptive, isn't it by far the lowest selling long running #1?
I'm not that shocked at Umbrella being here actually - decent song, and ubiquitous in summer 2007 from start to finish but there are at least 7 or 8 Rihanna singles I prefer to it - definitely didn't deserve 10 weeks at the top, Kate Nash should have taken a few of those in my opinion :(

'James Dean' - another non-song. Daniel Bedingfield was incredibly inconsistant.

The biggest shock for me so far is how low Gnarls Barkley is, now that IS a long running #1 and era defining track that deserved top 10 in this. :(

Summer 2003 for me was all about Blu Cantrell - Breathe  Loved that track and it takes me right back to that time.

Pure Shores was brilliant, but I think I do marginally prefer Black Coffee. But both were amazing anyway.

Definitely a shock that Umbrella only makes it in at no.13! Perhaps the overexposure went against it, something that Toxic never really suffered from giving it only spent one solitary week at number one.

Umbrella ranks as my 3rd favourite song of 2007 but even I cant claim it deserved 10 weeks  Other songs I perhaps would have been a bit more suprised to see land outside the top 10 mind, and on that note, its just dawned on me that I think Poker face or Bad Romance is probably going to win this :(
