'Take My Breath Away'? :o I found that extremely dull if it's the track I'm thinking off. Her best solo single was 'Maybe' by a country mile. Mel C was still easily the best when it came to solo Spice Girl related music.

I thought it was gorgeous, don't know why but it clicked with me for some reason  Free Me was my favourite single from her 2003/4 era - she rather pre-empted the 2008 soul pop comeback sound with that didn't she :o

Yes, both Lady GaGa tracks are top 10 which makes it all the more surprising that 'Just Dance' only ranks at #40. Then again, 'Just Dance' is my third fave Lady GaGa single behind 'Bad Romance' and 'Poker Face' so, for me anyways, it mirrors how much I like the three tracks in comparison.

I suspect that when even Gaga fans were arranging their choices they may not have wanted all three Gaga singles very high up and so the one that suffered was Just Dance.

My brief comments:

40 Lady GaGa 'Just Dance' - 508 - A great song until the awful Alan Carr/Catherine Tate parody helped kill it. It goes without saying she has done better since.

39 Melanie C ft Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes 'Never Be The Same Again' - 520 - My favourite members from what I regard as the two greatest girl-groups of all time join together and make a brilliant record.

38 Kelly Clarkson 'My Life Would Suck Without You' - 521 - I loved this song last year; and I still love it now. But I'm a sucker for a great power-pop tune.

37 Eminem 'Lose Yourself' - 522 - For me this song only works brilliantly in the context of the really rather good movie "8 Mile" (RIP. Brittany Murphy)

36 Scissor Sisters 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - 522 - This great song simultaneously made them huge and overexposed them.

35 Fragma 'Toca's Miracle' - 525 - Not a huge fan, but can see its appeal.

34 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' - 531 - Every decade a song comes along that is huge, which I just don't get what the fuss is about. 1980s: Jennifer Rush - The Power Of Love; 1990s: Bryan Adams - Everything I Do; 2000s : This.

33 Sugababes 'Round Round' - 534 - My favourite of their UK #1s.

32 Shakira ft Wyclef Jean 'Hips Don't Lie' - 539 - I will never forgive Radio 1 for not playlisting this track. Too Radio 2 sounding my ass.

31 Black Eyed Peas 'I Gotta Feeling' - 547 - I loved this song until it got killed by the X-Factor finalists.

30 Will Young 'Leave Right Now' - 560 - Eg While & Will Young's finest 3.5 minutes.

29 Girls Aloud 'Sound Of The Underground' - 563 - The best (only good) first single by a UK winning talent show act by a million miles.

28 Sugababes 'Push The Button' - 569 - A great pop song by a great pop group.

27 Madonna 'Hung Up' - 580 - "Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight, won't somebody help me chase the shadows away..."

26 Spiller 'Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)' - 594 - I bought this on CD. Still love it now. Timeless.

25 Eminem 'Stan' - 598 - Marshall Mathers best track music and lyrically.

24 Take That 'Patience' - 598 - One hell of a comeback tune.

23 Evanescence 'Bring Me To Life' - 601 - I loved this at the time; but when the EMO movement got bigger I went off it; now that the EMO movement has gone I like it again.

22 Christina Aguilera 'Beautiful' - 610 - The title sums up the track. Gorgeous.

21 Sugababes 'Freak Like Me' - 619 - A fantastic mash up track; that is responsible for the Sugababes Mk 4 existing today.

20 Gorillaz 'DARE' - 626 - Too be honest I was never a really big fan of this track. Much preferred Feel Good Inc.

19 All Saints 'Pure Shores' - 629 - A great number one but overplayed at the time; and the rubbish video always bugged me.

18 Sugababes 'Hole In The Head' - 640 - Probably my least favourite of their chart toppers bar Walk This Way. But I still really like this track.

17 Arctic Monkeys 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' - 640 - The record that I will associate with making me stand out on CoolClarity as before its week of release I arrogantly predicted it would debut at #1 even though most posters had not heard of them or the song; whereas I knew they had one hell of a following that would transfer into record sales.

16 Pink 'Just Like A Pill' - 690 - Another magnificent pop/rock record by the Janis Joplin meets Cyndi Lauper powerhouse.

15 Tatu 'All The Things She Said' - 695 - All hype; a brilliant Trevor Horn production and little content IMHO.

14 Beyonce 'Crazy In Love' - 710 - Beyonce only UK#1 hit that I love. But non UK#1's Irreplaceable; Halo & Single Ladies run it close.

13 Rihanna ft Jay-Z 'Umbrella' - 710 - An insanely catchy tune. What was Britney thinking passing on this track.

12 Kings Of Leon 'Sex On Fire' - 711 - Overrated & overplayed. I much preferred Use Somebody. Maybe that is why this Deep South version of Oasis meets the Stereophonics at their most mundane only reached USA#56; when Use Somebody peaked at USA#4.

11 Nelly Furtado 'Maneater' - 754 - I loved this song; but the album Loose was nowhere near as good as her underrated Folklore album.

I really should have charted First Day Of My Life by Melanie C looking back - shame it never got a UK release :(

I'm surprised you didn't chart 'First Day Of My Life' as your chart always focuses on big European hits. This was the top 10 when Mel C peaked in my chart. Oh, the memories!!! :drama:

Isnt "Cant get you out of my head" in the top 10 ?

I'm a bit confused as to why SOF and pre-US KOL in general flopped so badly in the USA.

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Outta My Head

Lady GaGa - Bad Romance

it took a while to grow on me  Billie Jean?

I think the same week in 2006, this was my top ten;

1. Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On (1)

2. Beth Orton - Conceived (6)

3. Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away (Re-entry)

4. Carrie Underwood - Jesus Take The Wheel (4)

5. Meck feat Leo Sayer - Thunder In My Heart (3)

6. The Veronicas - 4ever (5)

7. KT Tunstall - Another Place To Fall (7)

8. Carrie Underwood - I Ain't In Checotah Anymore (10)

9. City Chix - All About You (16)

10. Madonna - Sorry (2)

I love looking back at my old charts  Meck/Leo was a #1 in my chart a few weeks earlier  The Veronicas song was about 3 and a half years too early and I'd completely forgotten that that Beth Orton song exists :o *youtubes *

The Top 10 is:

Britney Spears - Toxic

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Outta My Head

Lady GaGa - Bad Romance

Lady GaGa - Poker Face

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Leona Lewis - Run

Lily Allen - The Fear

Robyn feat. Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat

Sugababes - About You Now

Nothing too shocking there apart from

Coldplay

who I always assumed BJ hated and

Lily Allen

. I mean, I know BJ like

The Fear

but I didn't know they liked it THAT much! :o

I know, that's the one I think I got wrong, I couldn't sleep last night and just worked it out from the two previous posts, so I'm not 100% on it, but that's what I got.
Just Dance is now 4th for me, way behind Paparazzi, Poker Face and Bad Romance - but WAY ahead of Love Game

CORRECT OPINION.

Thanks Bradders. Here is how I would like to see the remaining Top 10 + how I think it'll pan out...

WANT:

01. Sugababes - About You Now

02. Leona Lewis - Run

03. Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

04. Robyn feat. Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat

05. Lady GaGa - Bad Romance

06. Lady GaGa - Poker Face

07. Britney Spears - Toxic

08. Lily Allen - The Fear

09. Coldplay - Viva La Vida

10. Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Outta My Head :puke:

THINK:

01. Lady GaGa 'Poker Face'

02. Leona Lewis 'Bleeding Love'

03. Sugababes 'About You Now'

04. Robyn feat. Kleerup 'With Every Heartbeat'

05. Leona Lewis 'Run'

06. Britney Spears 'Toxic'

07. Kylie Minogue 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'

08. Coldplay 'Viva La Vida'

09. Lady GaGa 'Bad Romance'

10. Lily Allen 'The Fear'

'Bad Romance' is low, because people may think it's "Too Recent"? and maybe deduct a few points... I dunno..

The Top 10 is:

Britney Spears - Toxic

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Outta My Head

Lady GaGa - Bad Romance

Lady GaGa - Poker Face

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Leona Lewis - Run

Lily Allen - The Fear

Robyn feat. Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat

Sugababes - About You Now

This is all far too recent. :( Only two songs pre-2007!?

Out of the final 10 the song that i'd be happy if they were to win are:

Sugababes - About You Now

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Britney Spears - Toxic

Lily Allen - The Fear

Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Outta My Head

Robyn

needs to win this to be honest - possibly the greatest UK #1 of all time when taking into song quality, unexpectedness (a one hit wonder from 10 years back!?!) and a general shocking moment of extremely good taste from the British public

how this song/artist managed to top the charts amongst a sea of overhyped British acts and countless US urban acts I'm not quite sure but I'm glad that they did

Robyn

had received quite a lot of hype on Radio 1 after she performed the track on their Live Lounge. So impressive it was released as an alternative mix to iTunes as well as about 16 other remixes of the track. So all the combined sales were thankfully enough to top the UK chart. ^_^

The Top 10 is:

One male act in the whole top 10!
