Boom Boom Pow's problem is that it doesn't HAVE a tune. Meet Me Halfway is far superior, and should have been higher.

I'm shocked that I Kissed A Girl made it - I maintain that Hot N Cold is the only decent thing Katy Perry has put her name to.

I'm NOT surprised, but still disappointed that the ABYSMAL pop fluff of Oops I Did It Again and Never Had A Dream Come True made it so high - p***-poor.

Also the Lady Marmalade cover, which as RFC says is easily the worst thing that the likes of Missy and Pink have been involved with. I don't include Crustina though, because she HAS committed other atrocities (Come On Over Baby anyone?)

It might not have much of a tune, but it's still great. If you listen to the instrumental the only thing you can here until 2 mintues through is that beat. At about 2 and a half minutes that techno sound comes in.... and that's it. It's a very simple song...but a great one....

Eminem, won't be anywhere near the top 20 except with maybe Stan.

See, that just bores me. And this is going to make me sound incredibly old, but when I hear that beat in clubs, all I get is a headache.

I like "Kiss Kiss" but I prefer the original by Tarkan. She's done better.

Shame about "Oops!" crashing early, one of her best for sure.

"Boom Boom Pow", "Smile", "I Kissed A Girl" and "Beautiful Liar" are too high.

84 Beyonce ft Jay-Z 'Deja Vu' - 199 points

This is getting far too much hate! The beat on this is sick, I wanna take a ride on it's disco stick etc. One of my favourite Beyoncé songs. :wub:

82 Destiny's Child 'Independant Women Pt 1' - 236

78 Destiny's Child 'Survivor' - 269

Both of these two are too low, Destiny's Child seem to be remembered fondly only by me and a select few. :(

74 Aaliyah 'More Than A Woman' - 289

Eesh! So low! :( This is better than so many songs in this final 84. Aaliyah was so ahead of her time, she was working with Timbaland before people cared about Timbaland.

69 Melanie C 'I Turn To You' - 338

I think Melanie C is a bit over rated, don't think much of this at all and I'm a big fan of the Spice Girls and their solo careers. Glad her other #1 is yet to come. Should be #1 with any luck.

67 Beyonce & Shakira 'Beautiful Liar' - 340

Love this, but sometimes I forget how much I like it until I give it a play. I don't really think of it as a #1 either.

65 Black Eyed Peas 'Boom Boom Pow' - 347

BAH! This is their best #1, it's so hot. My favourite BEP song. I expect their songs will finish in the reverse order that I rank them. It goes BBP >>>> MMH >>>>> WITL >>>>>>>>>> IGF for me.

84 Beyonce ft Jay-Z 'Deja Vu' - 199 points ERGH! :puke: ThankGod this finished last. What a mess!

83 Kylie Minogue 'Spinning Around' - 218 Meh. She has far better!

82 Destiny's Child 'Independant Women Pt 1' - 236 ThankGod this finished so low. So overrated. Destiny's Child (bar a couple of songs) are generally overrated imo.

81 Fedde Le Grand 'Put Your Hands Up For Detriot' - 243 CHOOOOOOOOOOOON! :wub: I'd imagine this would still be a huge number 1 even if it was released today.

80 Justin Timberlake 'SexyBack' - 256 LOOOOOVE this. Loved all the singles from that era actually. Shame the album itself was such a massive letdown.

79 Alexandra Burke 'Bad Boys' - 267 NO WAY! This is so low! :( I honestly thought it'd be at least 40 places higher! :mellow:

78 Destiny's Child 'Survivor' - 269 See my comment for IWP1. Horrific! :puke:

77 Rihanna 'Take A Bow' - 274 Ahhh! Pleasently surprised to see this quite high/even manage to make the final! :o Such an underrated RiRi song!

76 Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Mya & Pink 'Lady Marmalade' - 276 Meh. Like you said, they all have done far better

75 Madonna 'Sorry' - 280 LOL. The only Madge song I like/love from the 'Confessions' era.

74 Aaliyah 'More Than A Woman' - 289 Meh. Overrated! Surprised to see it so low though tbh :o

73 Arctic Monkeys 'When The Sun Goes Down' - 320 Great to see these having success on here! Loved them. Their new era however is awful!

72 Holly Valance 'Kiss Kiss' - 320 Meh. Used to love it "back in the day". So bored of it now

71 Britney Spears 'Oops... I Did It Again' - 322 Completely agree with Jack. Definately one of my least fave singles by her :(

70 Daniel Bedingfield 'Gotta Get Thru This' - 338 Hmm.. sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't...

69 Melanie C 'I Turn To You' - 338 This should be FARRR higher imo :( By far the best thing she's ever recorded!

68 Oasis 'The Importance of Being Idle' - 340 One of very few Oasis singles I love!

67 Beyonce & Shakira 'Beautiful Liar' - 340 ERGH! Hate this.

66 Shapeshifters 'Lola's Theme' - 341 See above! Overrated to the MAX!

65 Black Eyed Peas 'Boom Boom Pow' - 347 Love this still. One of the highlights on the album :wub:

64 Katy Perry 'I Kissed A Girl' - 349 Meh. She's done/has farrrr better!

63 Black Eyed Peas 'Meet Me Halfway' - 353 Meh. Never have cared for this much. Didn't deserve to be as successful as it did though!

62 S Club 7 'Never Had A Dream come True' - 359 :( Should have been a tad higher, however, not surprised at it's end finish.

61 Lily Allen 'Smile' - 360 Surprised to see this come as high as it did though. Haven't really cared for this that much. It's OK. Nothing more, nothing less.

Decent results so far I guess. Although a couple of shockers in there so early on :o

Boom Boom Pow! doesn't need a tune. Music is about sound. Firestarter and Milkshake don't have a tune either and both are great. I much prefer Boom Boom Pow to IGTF or MMH.

Timbaland was peerless in the noughties. SexyBack and More than a Woman were two of his best pieces.

I much pefer the album version of I Turn to You.

As for Beautiful Liar - I find the single mix atrocious but I like the Freemasons mix.

Lola's Theme and Smile :heart:

my summer anthems of 2004 and 2006 respectively! 2004 wasn't dull for #1 singles, it was DIABOLICAL, as were the charts in general :puke:

60 Estelle ft Kanye West 'American Boy' - 376 points (21 voters, 13th in Heat 3)

UK Chart Run: 72-{1}R(2)-1-1-1-2-3-5-6-9-11-13-17-17-20-23-21-23-28-23-30-36-43-41-44-50-54-59-71-75-75R(5)-67R(8)->32

By far the most successful single by Estelle, largely helped by the appearance of Kanye West. Being a bit behind I'd not actually heard this until it went to number on iTunes so was a little bit shocked as I didn't even know it existed. It's a shame she needed Kanye to get a big hit as she is rather good, but at least she's had a big hit.

Proof that you need a lot of hype and promotion to get to number one. When this was first released a year before no one cared, as soon as Radio 1 lap it up it's a number one.

58 Nelly ft Kelly Rowland 'Dilemma' - 388 points (22 voters, 7th in Heat 1)

UK Chart Run: {1}-1-2-3-2-4-6-10-13-13-11-10-18-21-25-26-30-42-52-59-66->21

I remember this being absolutely everywhere when this was released. Surprisingly I didn't get too bored of it though. Already the 11th song to appear which qualified out of Heat 1, it's looking like that was somewhat the weakest one.

57 S Club 7 'Don't Stop Movin'' - 390 points (20 voters, 11th in Heat 1)

UK Chart Run: {1}-2-2-1-2-4-7-9-9-14-19-23-25-32-40-39-48-52-70->19

Given that 'Never Had A Dream Come True' finished in 62nd I thought this would've finished significantly higher, however I suppose that because it's a different type of song it attracts a different fanbase.

UK Chart Run: {1}-2-3-5-6-7-8-11-15-19-26-31-37-43-61-64-74->17

To be completely honest I have no idea how this even goes anymore... It seemed to get more voters as the final went on, it originally looked like it was on course for a disappointing finish.

That's Not My Name is amazing.

I heard it around the time of the first release just btw :kink:

55 David Guetta ft Kelly Rowland 'When Love Takes Over' - 412 points (22 voters, 19th in Heat 2)

UK Chart Run: 7-{1}-2-4-5-6-6-9-11-16-19-22-28-35-42-44-49-55-65-71->20

So Kelly Rowland's two non-Destiny's Child number ones appear in pretty quick succession. This was the first of two number ones for David Guetta last year, who had a surprisingly successful 2009.

UK Chart Run: {1}-2-4-3-8-10-10-12-16-19-20-22-29-36-48-62->16

The only thing that makes the more memorable than Hear'Say. They were a bit flash in the pan though, with their most recent attempt at hitting the charts a #47 smash 3 1/2 years ago. This wasn't a bad pop song though.

not good at all for Don't Stop Movin', it's one of the classic noughties pop singles!

53 Timaland ft Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' - 420 points (24 voters, 14th in Heat 2)

I'm glad this was far more successful that 'Give It To Me' in this, that was pretty generic but this wasn't, it's certainly one of my favourite number ones of the decade, and I'm not really a fan of any of the artists involved. Certainly one of the more popular club anthems of recent years.

I thought it would finish far higher than their other two, which would both fail to qualify. Surprised it wasn't top 40 tbh!
