25 Eminem 'Stan' - 598 points (26 voters, 6th in Heat 2)

UK Chart Run: {1}-2-3-2-5-10-12-18-22-22-26-30-30-38-54-68-74R(3)->17

This has probably gone on to become his most well known and most loved song. It was very different from anything he'd released before or since, although that's probably a good thing as he wouldn't be able to match it. This even intorduced Dido to the world...

The results are turning out to be more interesting and less predictable than I imagined. Expected Kelly Clarkson and both Girls Aloud's UK no. 1 singles to be higher than they've ended up.

We're getting to a point where I can't disagree with the final placings - all those no. 1s from #40 onwards are great tracks. I'm personally not all that fussed with 'Groovejet' - there were better dance tracks in 2000 like 'Toca's Miracle' - glad to see Fragma did well. ^_^

Looking forward to seeing the top 25. :D A shame so many of those YouTube videos are blocked. -_-

24 Take That 'Patience' - 598 points (28 voters, 11th in Heat 3)

UK Chart Run: 4-{1}-1-1-1-2-2-3-5-8-15-15-22-10-15-14-20-16-20-26-31-40-52-50-48-53-65-64-73-47R(5)-69-74-71-64R(13)-74-61R(8)-50-66-74-59R(45)->40

In the 90s they were big, they came back with this in 2006 and have ended up even bigger. A completely different sound, far more mature and with far more quality, they've gone on to become one of the most popular acts of another decade. Unfortunately for them their most popular song 'Rule The World' was released on the same day as 'Bleeding Love' preventing its chances of number one.

Yeah too many of them don't work, but on some songs they all seem to be disabled. And I don't want to post some audio over pictures, but the actual video.

Have you tried Daily Motion? You can embed their videos and, unlike YouTube, none of them are blocked - at least not that I'm aware of.

23 Evanescence 'Bring Me To Life' - 601 points (29 voters, 5th in Heat 1)

UK Chart Run: {1}-1-1-1-2-5-4-5-9-13-20-24-32-37-47-68-73->17

A song that was absolutely everywhere in 2003, I was pretty shocked it was so successful, it was very unlike everything that was big here at the time but it had the commercial appeal to reach far outside their usual fanbase.

22 Christina Aguilera 'Beautiful' - 610 points (31 voters, 12th in Heat 2)

UK Chart Run: {1}-1-5-13-14-15-17-28-45-62->10

After this and 'Dirrty' her album 'Stripped' became one of the biggest sellers of the early part of the decade. It's not been often that a pop act can release two huge singles off an album that are so different. The first song that recieved points from half of the voters.

21 Sugababes 'Freak Like Me' - 619 points (29 voters, 6th in Heat 4)

UK Chart Run: {1}-3-6-10-16-24-25-35-44-53-57-64R(2)-62-72->14

So no one quite manages to get three entries in the top 20, although three acts do have two in there. This was their first number one and their career began to grow from there, until recently of course when the name Sugababes has become a bit of a joke.

Bring Me To Life is among the 10 worst songs ever, fact.

:lol:

My 15 year old neice would strongly disagree with that. She would list it as one of the top 10 best songs of all time. Mind you, she prefers 'My Immortal' ( ^_^ ) more so I can't grumble at that. :D (I take it you dislike that song too? :P )

I dislike Evanescence in general, but My Immortal was okay. They had one really good song as well, can't remember what it was called. BMTL is just an abomination though.

surprised how low the promise is :o

Some real shockers then! Was definatly expecting the two Girls Aloud songs to be higher, aswell as GaGa and Kelly and a few others.

Evansesance, Take That, Eminem, to name a few are a lot higher than I expected aswell.

60 Estelle ft Kanye West 'American Boy' - 376 ERGH! FOWL!

59 Ting Tings 'That's Not My Name' - 387 Love(d) this so much at the time. Got old quite quickly though.

58 Nelly ft Kelly Rowland 'Dilemma' - 388 One of my favourite songs EVER! :wub: A true classic in my eyes!

57 S Club 7 'Don't Stop Movin'' - 390 Great pop song. Not my favourite S Club track, but it's still a pure pop classic!

56 LeAnn Rimes 'Can't Fight The Moonlight' - 395 Loved this at the time, but now, it hasn't dated so well has it?

55 David Guetta ft Kelly Rowland 'When Love Takes Over' - 412 Still love this quite a bit (especially on a night out). 'Sexy Chick' whilst good, wasn't anywhere near as good

54 Liberty X 'Just A Little' - 415 Meh. Never cared for them/this, that was until they unleashed the forgotten classic 'Song 4 Lovers'! :wub:

53 Timbaland ft Keri Hilson & DOE 'The Way I Are' - 420 AHHHH! One of the most amazing songs EVER! Kick started my obsession with Ms Hilson! :wub:

52 Calvin Harris 'I'm Not Alone' - 421 Amazing pop/trance song! Pleased it finished so high!

51 Sonique 'It Feels So Good' - 430 :puke:

50 Black Eyed Peas 'Where Is The Love?' - 431 THEIR BEST EVER! :wub:

49 My Chemical Romance 'Welcome To The Black Parade' - 434 Surprised I like this as much as I did, however I did prefer 'Famous Last Words'

48 Michael Andrews ft Gary Jules 'Mad World' - 441 AWFUL! Cannot stand this. If we could give a -1, this would probably have gotten mine.

47 Natasha Bedingfield 'These Words' - 445 Pure pop classic. 'Unwritten' is a fantastic pop album and one of the best albums of the last decade at least!

46 Roger Sanchez 'Another Chance' - 449 :o PLEASENTLY surprised this finished as high as it has done! :o Amazing dance classic!

45 Britney Spears 'Everytime' - 456 :angry: :angry: :angry:! This deserved to be Top 5! It's her best ever song and is so underrated as far as Brit songs go! :(

44 Stereophonics 'Dakota' - 458 Meh.

43 Duffy 'Mercy' - 462 Meh. Bored of it now. 'Distant Dreamer' however :wub:

42 Girls Aloud 'The Promise' - 503 Their worst single imo :( I really dislike it now. So overplayed and does not deserve to be their most successful single! Surprised it finished so low though :o

41 Christina Aguilera ft Redman 'Dirrty' - 506 Only 9 weeks inside the Top 75 :mellow: I thought this spent an age in the top 40! LOL Great song though.

Do you know what I'm genuinely stumped for who's left to come.

2 Sugababes, 2 Gaga, Kylie, Robyn, Leona, Nelly Furtado, Britney "Toxic", All Saints...beyond that it's a blank.

There can't be any male acts I'm sure?

Does Leona have 2? Bleeding Love & Run?

Ooohh. I know you're right but I cant help but love it. It's the vocals I'm afraid. It is from one of the worst genres ever but I still enjoy it an awful lot. It has block buster production which I am usually not a fan of. Guilty pleasure.

It's a joke that Bleeding Love has beaten so many interesting songs. It is one of the weakest and most tuneless pieces of $h!t I've ever had to hear.

Did you ban a lot of the usual pop loons from voting Mark? :heehee:
