21st-27th February is the first week of death of 2010 with loads of massive releases and songs with great staying power there.

The Top-10 contenders for that week:

- Simon Cowell's Haiti Single - Everybody Hurts. It seems to earn a lot of money for Haiti, staying at #1 or at least Top3 for a couple of weeks, incl. our week of death.

- Owl City - Fireflies. Massive megahit of the year, 2+1 weeks at #1, and it will still be huge by 22nd Feb and won't go from Top10 definitely.

- Timbaland & Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again. One of those follow-ups which do much more impressively than the first singles, it is #2 in iTunes for the first week, is likely to get #2 in the officials too and will be in the Top10 for ages.

- Ke$ha feat. 3OH!3 - Blah Blah Blah. The massive follow-up by Ke$ha: don't think it is going to #1 but respectable 10 or so week in the Top10 is guaranteed for this I suppose.

- Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believing. The bomb of this season received massive reception all over the world, it is climbing and falling, but staying in the Top5 and will stay there for another couple of weeks at least.

- Rihanna - Rude Boy. The song is Top15 in iTunes on airplay alone with no video, do you imagine how huge will it be with the video released? I see another long Top-10 runner.

- Lady GaGa & Beyonce - Telephone. There is a lot of hype about the forthcoming video, they seem to be performing on BRITs, Top3 here we go?

- JLS - One Shot. It has peaked at #6 so far. The song has much more mild feedback from the public. It is only #9 in iTunes now, but with fanbase buying I think it is guaranteed for Top10 for the release week.

- Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind II (Broken Down). The song has got its second breath and became a highlight not only in 2009 (Jay-Z version), but in 2010 too. It might die down by the 22nd Feb though, but who knows...

- Leona Lewis - I Got You. Despite really good airplay (#22 for last week) it is only in the low Top100 now, but the video release might change it all. And it's a massive contender for Top10 just because it's Leona. I smell only Top20 though for it.

- Jay Sean - Do You Remember. It has stuck in Top15 in iTunes for ages and might damage its final peak especially releasing on that huge week. But it is still a contender.

- Pitbull - Shut It Down. It is also listed on 22nd Feb in the Manic's schedule, so I'll add this to the contenders. The song isn't so aggressive as his previous single, it's doing well without even decent airplay. Personally I can't see Top10 place for it (maybe low Top20 if it's lucky), but anything could happen.

Meanwhile...

There will be some newly released songs on that date.

- Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed. The winneer of BBC Sound of 2010 poll with very ear-friendly and handsome song is firstly released on that week. Could it go Top10 or it will do a 'New in Town'?

- Sugababes - Wear My Kiss. Scandalized group with very hard destiny is back with the third single off 'Sweet 7' era. The video is #5 in the iTunes Video Chart, has a good video airplay, the song is going to be A-listed on Radio 1... But will it be enough for Top-10?

- Daisy Dares You - Number One Enemy. One of the favourites of 2010, is doing very well in iTunes video chart (#2), she might shine throughout 2010, but it may be hard for her to get Top10 that week.

- Jason DeRulo - In My Head. The follow-up for #3 single from Jason DeRulo. British public is very keen on male R&B artists, both UK and US, so this follow-up has very strong chances for Top10 or higher.

- Alphabeat - Hole In My Heart. I don't think it will go even Top20 that week, but they might actually surprise us, as they did once with 'Fascination'. It is a classy song, and they might do it against all odds.

So, I have counted 17!!!! major singles contending for the Top10, and at least 7 of them won't get there.

What are your predictions for that week?

everybody hurts is a guaranteed top 10

Top 10 will probably be (not in this order)

Everybody Hurts, Fireflies, If we ever meet again, Blah Blah Blah, One Shot, Telephone, Rude Boy

& then possibly Daisy Dares you, Sugababes, Alicia Keys in the top 10

I have a feeling Leona will fail to get top 10.. same with Jason Derulo eventhough I think In my head is just as strong as whatcha say

The Brits are a week before so they may also have an effect.. the performers & winners

The very first results of poll show that we think Haiti Relief, Owl City, Timbaland, Ke$ha, Glee Cast, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Ellie Goulding, Sugababes and Daisy Dares You will make it. This list will be ideal for me, they are the most deserved. But I'd say that JLS will make it instead of Ellie/Sugababes/Daisy which will be a shame as I want all 3 of them to get Top10. :(

Here's how I see the Top 10 (using those...)

01. Helping Haiti 'Everybody Hurts'

02. GaGa & Beyonce 'Telephone'

03. Timbaland feat. Katy Perry 'If We Ever Meet Again'

04. Rihanna 'Rude Boy'

05. Owl City 'Fireflies'

06. Jason DeRulo 'In My Head'/Daisy Dares You feat. Chipmunk 'Number One Enemy' (But I voted JDR in the poll)

07. Ke$ha feat. 3OH!3 'Blah, Blah, Blah'/Erik Hassle 'Hurtful' (Providing Erik is the shock big hit I'm expecting him to be...)

08. Glee Cast 'Don't Stop Believin''

09. Leona Lewis 'I Got You'

10. Sugababes 'Wear My Kiss'

That's how I personally think it'll look that week. 'I Got You' now screams number 9 to me for some reason   Sugababes new single, is alright but I know quite a few people who think it's "weak" and "generic" in comparison to their other material, so it will struggle. I doubt it'll even go Top 10 if i'm honest...

everybody hurts is a guaranteed top 10

I doubt it. Will be it's 4th 3rd week in the charts by this time. I'm guessing it will have done a Jedward by then.

:edit: 3rd week

Ricky, 4th? I count 3rd. I think it will do similar to X Factor's Winner single, so 3 weeks are almost guaranteed for it.

I thought Telephone wasn't released until March

checking the latest release schedule - 15th March

But this will be the week of the Brits (I think), where GaGa and Beyoyo are apparently going to duet. Everyone's assuming they'll do 'Telephone' although seeing as the Brits have some rule about performing future hits over other hits or whatever (I dunno if that's true) I can see them doing a mash-up of 'Poker Face'/'Sweet Dreams' or something.

Beyonce performing aswell :o Didnt know that

Yeh apparently they have to perform hits of the previous year (2009).. which is why Cheryl is performing Fight for this love & JLS Beat Again.. but then again they are nominated for those songs so that might be why they are performing them ?

About GaGa, I think it depends on two factors:

1. What they will perform on BRITS

2. When the video is released.

If they 1. perform Telephone and 2. the video is released by 21st Feb, they will be Top10.

Your correct. 3rd week. Sorry, was counting this week(along with for Glee/Owl City/Timbaland/Ke$ha etc) by mistake.

The 10 songs I voted for:

Haiti Relief - Everybody Hurts [ 13 ] [10.66%]

Owl City - Fireflies [ 12 ] [9.84%]

Timbaland feat. Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again [ 13 ] [10.66%]

Ke$ha feat. 3OH!3 - Blah Blah Blah [ 12 ] [9.84%]

Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believing [ 8 ] [6.56%]

Rihanna - Rude Boy [ 10 ] [8.20%]

Lady GaGa & Beyonce - Telephone [ 11 ] [9.02%]

JLS - One Shot [ 7 ] [5.74%]

Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind II (Broken Down) [ 3 ] [2.46%]

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed [ 8 ]

We'll have probably had video premieres for 'Telephone' and 'Rude Boy' within the next fortnight seeing a significant increase in sales for those two tracks. I predict the top 10 will look something like this:

01. Haiti Relief - Everybody Hurts

02. Timbaland feat. Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again

03. Ke$ha feat. 3OH!3 - Blah Blah Blah

04. Owl City - Fireflies

05. Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believing

06. Rihanna - Rude Boy

07. Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind II (Broken Down)

08. JLS - One Shot

09. Lady GaGa & Beyonce - Telephone

10. Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed

Wow! cant wait for this week!

I think Haiti Relief and Owl City will be low top ten, Timbaland and Kesha will be very big probably mid top 10- Rihanna could go there, JLS will definately be there and Leona will- but I have a feeling it will be her lowest charting single yet, and Jay Sean should make it

Gaga and Beyonce will probably be top 5, Im not sure about Ellie Goulding, but she definately could- I think Daisy Dares You could well be number 1 that week- a lot of hype around that

I can't currently think that far ahead, but Helping Haiti, Owl City, Timbaland, JLS, Ellie Goulding and Jason Derülo are guaranteed top 10.

Leona Lewis - I Got You

After 'Happy' failed to top the UK charts after all the hype being the big comeback single, I don't hold much hope now for 'I Got You'. I actually think 'I See You' would've performed better had that been released. No video at the moment doesn't help, don't think the track is gonna get loads of airplay on radio stations and the track doesn't really fit in with what's popular now compared to 2007. Ie; if this was the follow up to 'Bleeding Love' it'd go top 10. As it's the follow up to the nowhere near as successful 'Happy' I think this could end peaking around #12.

Jay Sean - Do You Remember

Can't see this going top 10 at all. It's never made top 10 on iTunes and with all new releases over the next fortnight I think the highest this track track will peak now is #13.

Pitbull feat. Akon - Shut It Down

Whilst I think this is brilliant I think the best this track will do is low top 20 and I'm doubtful it'll even get there. Possible highest peak #22.

Sugababes - Wear My Kiss [ 7 ] [5.43%]

Don't think the Sugababes are as popular now as they were when 'Get Sexy' was released. One line up change too many and whilst this is better than 'Get Sexy', I'm unsure if it's got enough selling power to do an 'About A Girl' and just scrape into the top 10. My predicted peak is #14.

Daisy Dares You - Number One Enemy [ 8 ] [6.20%]

I do like this a bit but I'm unsure if this really will be the big hit the iTunes Video chart suggests. If it does go top 10, it'll probably be low down the top 10. I think this will be #11.

Jason DeRulo - In My Head

Alphabeat - Hole In My Heart

I don't see either of these being big hits. Especially Alphabeat who are looking set for top 75 if they're lucky. Jason Derulo will probably make the top 40.

01. 25 Help For Haiti - 'We are the world'

02. Gaga & Beyonce 'Telephone' Physical not released until 1st March - still this is crazy good song and with Gaga touring in the UK and having been on the Brits with Beyonce. Explosion.

03. Timbaland feat. Katy Perry 'If We Ever Meet Again' Burning away at the top. Physical released 15/2, great tune

04. Alicia Keys - ESOM part II. Physical 22/2, another great tune

05. Rihanna 'Rude Boy'. Physical 22/2

06. Jason DeRulo 'In My Head'. Physical 22/2 - Hope it misses top10 but I doubt it as it's doing well in the US.

07. Ke$ha feat. 3OH!3 'Blah, Blah, Blah'. Physical 22/2 I sense this might burn out.

08. JLS 'One Shot', Physical 22/2 burnt out here, but massive physicals and signing sessions all over the country no doubt.

09. Owl City 'Fireflies' Former #1 sticking around.

10. Daisy Dares You feat. Chipmunk. Physical 22/2 -really no idea not heard it, but can't diss this as Chipmunk seems on target with each release.

Others

11. Sugababes 'Wear My Kiss'. Physical 22/2 (Scrapping in Top10 for 1 week if they are lucky - or maybe not)

12. Helping Haiti 'Everybody Hurts' Chart run(1-3-12).

13. Leona Lewis 'I Got You'. Physical 22/2 I got CHEW? What a mess where you don't pronouce the title; still fans will buy it for this week.

14. Taio Cruz feat Ke$ha - 'Dirty Picture' Physical 22/2 this might push the Top10

15. Glee Cast 'Don't Stop Believin''. Easily out

16. Jedward. Physicals out 15/2

edit: Add in 25 Help For Haiti - 'We are the world'

Agh, the underestimation of 'In My Head' is starting to get frustrating now.

I'll bake my head in a humble pie if it doesn't make at least the top 15.

I agree.

Missing from the poll is

Taio Cruz feat Ke$ha - 'Dirty Picture'. Physical 15/2

and Black Eyed Peas - 'Rock That Body' Physical 15/3. A month early but downloads could do it.

I agree. There's got to be at least one "shock"/underdog inside the top 10, and I think Jason DeRulo will do it.
