It's daft to say it I think but then again you can't say anything anymore without it being referenced. It definitely leads to his exit, where did you hear about Hayley Xmas Eve?

That would sound right, the actress has confirmed she's read the scripts for her exit so I imagine Hayley's final scenes would air late 2013, though I'd rather it not be over Xmas as this will be devastating I was almost in tears tonight so god knows what I'll be like towards the end, especially as I know how terrible pancreatic cancer can be as someone i know died from this last year

I was able to keep it together until that ending

Sad wasn't it :( not gonna be an easy storyline to watch

I could quite happily just watch 25 minutes of Roy and Hayley every day, I think this is going to be a great storyline, perfectly acted and well written!

However, please no more of this god awful 'racism' story and a break from the whole Gary/Izzy/Tina would be good...

The Hayley and Roy story is going brilliantly its so touching, well written and Stephanie Cole plays her role brilliantly.

I agree about the racism storyline. Racism is something that should be tackled but it has been done so hurriedly here (and so bloody badly written) that its embarrassing. Someone should seriously give Sophie a slap for her part in this fiasco.

The racism storyline is god bloody awful but the Roy and Hayley stuff is brilliant, very well acted and scripted and its touching and its like watching a real true life story that is actually happening. Hayleys exit looks set to be powerfully touching.

Just read on digital spy,

Mandy

is leaving the show...it's just a shame she's not taking

Lloyd and Jenna

with her, it's probably the embarrassment of being involved in this racism storyline that made her want to leave!!

Just got to try and get rid of Sean, Rob, Gary and Lloyd then I will be happy! Well I'd be happier if Hayley wasnt leaving but you can't have everything!

Even more bad news...

Stephanie Cole

aka

Sylvia

is leaving, apparently she's filmed her last scenes so she's unlikely to be around for Hayley's last episode, which doesn't sound right I just hope the character will return, I don't get why all the good actors are leaving but people who can't act are still there under the impression that they are 'popular' with viewers...it amazes me!!

Chris Fountain has been suspended for posting a series of offensive rap videos online, under the name of The Phantom.

Wearing a Halloween mask and surrounded by friends, Fountain delivered a number of obscene and expletive-filled rhymes, which included boasts of violence and rape.

The videos are thought to have been filmed quite some time ago, but Coronation Street bosses have taken action after The Sun newspaper alerted them to the footage.

A show spokesperson said: "ITV find the language used and the views expressed in this video totally unacceptable. Chris Fountain has been suspended pending further inquiries into this matter."

In a statement, Fountain added: "I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused. I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour. The videos were made over a year ago when I was experimenting with music and I've not done anything like it since and nor will I."

I loved Sally tonight! So glad someone put Owen and Anna in their place.

How can anyone be afraid of Owen? He looks like a fat fish. Him, and Faye need to die a painfully violent death.
And Chris Fountain's contract has now been terminated after he was suspended (see above).

Whilst I do not condone what he has done, I genuinely believe Corrie have completely over reacted to this! They have done this to 'set an example' and I think its been done to avoid any more damage to the shows reputation but I think other cast members have done worse things than this and have still kept their jobs

For example I read on digital spy that Jimmi Harkishan and Craig Charles, both awful actors and both suspended due to allegations of drug use which in my mind is a potential criminal action but they weren't sacked!!?? Yes what Chris did was stupid and reckless but I think this is a step too far...

But the character was running out of steam and I think his contract wouldn't have been renewed anyway, I wonder what will happen to him now??

I do agree with you. I think any sign of trouble that could damage the reputation of the show is worrying them more than it should do now. At the same time, though, I don't really blame them because they've already had more than a couple of cast members suspended/sacked under allegations they've been fiddling with young children, which is really sick. But, if Chris wanted to keep his job (or was even taking that into consideration at the time when he posted those), he shouldn't have done it.

I laughed, though, because The Sun today had the opening sentence of their article about it 'Corrie's Chris Fountain sacked after The Sun expose...'

She's a great character and delivers some great lines too. I'll miss her.

Her exit is also terrible from what i read and a massive let down to a fantastic character.
