I have no doubt that the best intentions were behind this ... but similarly I'm sure Cowell and his lot had the best of intentions too ... and yet (I can't recall if it was you or someone else) suggested people 'stop buying EH' and replace it with this 'more worthy' song. Are you god by any chance? Can you see through both these to see which has the more charitable intentions behind it. If so ... I do apologise.

I don't see what relevance the birthplace of anyone has to do with anything here? He may have been born in Haiti but he made his money in the big wide, commercial world.

Norma

I'm pretty sure birthplace has a huge significance considering he would have family there.

It is evident from the video that these people care and it is not a rushed piece of crap like EH.

Sorry but Everybody Hurts > WATW for me. And people thought EH was a mess. :o

No ... production wise I think WATW is very polished and professional - although I do believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that this song was being planned for a re-issue months ago to celebrate its 25th anniversary ... so it isn't as 'hurriedly' put together as people seem to think. The EH was rather hurriedly put together and is why the overall re .....

Oh Ryan ... I can't be arsed ... they're both $h!t aren't they?

Hang on a minute... weren't people getting annoyed at "waiting for so long" for 'Everybody Hurts'? But now 'We Are The World' is released it's a "rushed piece of crap" LOL!

Couldn't resist. I seldom use rolleyes as I don't usually have cause!

No they were never announced AT ALL.

Lol at you thinking Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson and Justin Bieber are second rate artists in the US.

Rappers? Who Wyclef Jean [Who is from Haiti], Lil Wayne [The biggest rap artist of the past decade in the US] and Will I Am [Part of the biggest band in the world].

Your argument is weak. The song is not ruined.

Erm... Lol at you thinking they are first rate artists in the US...

I wouldn't even say Justin Bieber is second rate. Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson, yes. Realistically, Jennifer Hudson is super-talented but just doesn't have the success that she should have with the voice that she has.

First rate artists in the US are those who dominate the charts, the media and the award ceremonies; Beyonce, Taylor Swift, GaGa and BEP spring to mind...

But to even imply that JUSTIN BIEBER is a first rate artist in the US makes me quite literally laugh out loud.

LOL yes they are :D But locked in a room and forced to choose one I'd go EH :kink:

Miley Cyrus is MASSIVE in the US! Most of her songs as soon as they're put onto iTunes usually fly up to the top spot!

You'd just ask them to loop Leona's bits wouldn't you? :kink: Like me I think

I haven't heard it on the radio yet, does it still have the news reports and crying babies all over it, or is that just for the video?

I think I agree ... just the sight of Celine Dion trying to outscreech the other woman (can't recall who it is) is laughable.

I do wonder if the hate towards EH is purely because of Simon Cowell (although I must admit ... I can't stand him either ... not for this song ... just in general).

Anyway ... I'd love to stay and annoy TIP and R-Rated and a host of others I've wound up today ... but I must really get my pyjamas and slippers on and annoy some people at Tescos!

Please, Jennifer Hudson is an oscar and grammy winner you can't get more successful than that. Her album sold over a million in the US and was cut short due to the tragic loss of family members she has also just had a child which I'm pretty sure prevented her from being around the celebrity scene for months. She is a massive star in the US and is most definetely A List in terms of music.

Justin Bieber is a huge star in America right now whether he is crap or not is another debate but you can't deny the fact that anytime he releases a song to iTunes it rushes up the charts. He gets constant press coverage in the US.

No it is nothing to do with Simon Cowell it is to do with the fact the acts on EH are completely terrible [JLS, Joe McElderry etc].

Rated R, anytime I see you posting, you are involved in an argument. Please slow down a bit ;)

And don't spam (= posting only smileys etc)

Miley has never had a US number one. She is big, but not as big as Hannah Montana. Jennifer Hudson has faded since her massive year with Dreamgirls. Justin Bieber, no matter how badly people want him to do well in America... just isn't. I've followed the American charts for years and Justin Bieber is not first rate. I give you that his songs rush up the charts, but as 'Baby' showed, they fall even faster.

She may never have had a US number one but what has that got to do with anything when she is the biggest teen star in the US right now. You do realise that Miley Cyrus is Hannah Montana so I'm pretty sure one can't be considered a success without the other.

Jennifer Hudson has not faded in the slightest she is always around in the US and just this week sang at the White House. I'm pretty sure you have to be A List to get an invite to sing there.

 You clearly have no idea how the US charts work. Baby has yet to have a video and has just started being played on radio. Justin Bieber is considered huge in America you have to follow more than chart positions to determine someones popularity.

She may never have had a US number 1, but that still doesn't mean she's not huge over there

Didn't 'Party In The USA' stay Top 10 for like 3 months or something? And I didn't say she had a number 1 in their official charts, I said on iTunes, which she was number 1 for like forever it seemed...

Although the facts you said are true, that doesn't make someone first rate artist. Maybe Jennifer Hudson was, but not anymore at the moment.

IMO first rate artists are high in the charts, have lots of airplay, sell lots of albums and have a fuge fanbase. The artists you've mentioned, match some of these criterias but not all.

And I forgot: Quality!

 You clearly have no idea how the US charts work.

And try to avoid personal insults, you've been warned twice for this. ;)

Jennifer Hudson is a first rate entertainment personality in the US. This cannot be denied. People do not get invites to the White House, win oscars, win grammies and get invited to do tributes for people like MJ and Whitney Houston without being A list. When her next album is released this will be proven.

I'm not debating Miley Cyrus her sales and media empire speak for itself.

Justin Bieber has sold millions of singles and over a million albums with his proper album being released next month. He is the biggest male teen star in the US right now behind him from Twighlight.

The facts speak for themselves.
