Going by the fact that Massive Attack were no.1 earlier this week and ended up at no.6. Has this ever happened before in the single or albums chart.

I think last May, Maximo Park's latest album was #1 on Tues-Fri. But eventually at #6 on Sunday.

Yes. Fan based artists sell well first day then trial off quickly. Not so usual to fall to #6.

The Maximo Park situation was because Green Day's new album was released on the Friday so Maximo Park were number one until Green Day were released unlike Massive Attack that just had frontloaded fan sales.

But Maximo fell to #6.

Pet Shop Boys last year were number 1 on the albums for majority of the week, but fell to 4 on sundays chart, although this isnt as big

Yeah I only realised that after I posted. I got mixed up between the album of their's that got to number 2.

This month I have noticed that new albums start off highly in midweeks and fall drastically in Sunday's chart.
