It was a smart move to release Ellie while the hype is surrounding her, unlike with Little Boots, as she is definitely reaping the rewards. For the music she produces, a top five hit is fantastic - even if it does turn out to be her only ever!

iTunes Popularity Bars

Thankyou! Quite a big gap from #6 to #5 but this could easily change over the next few hours I guess. Ellie has proved that!

Wow, Jason really catching up with Florascal there :o! Hopefully he can knock it, could even get the official number 1, you never know!

Alicia will get overtaken by Rihanna very soon... so much for being a possible number 1 for Alicia this week :(, anyway love Rude Boy!

Also looks like Sugababes will stall at #6, the same placing as AAG, could have a similar chart run actually.

Finally, does anyone know where IGY is combined? Thanks in advance if someone posts :D.

Jason's just downloads so Ellie and others could end up above him maybe?
shocking smashes for Ellie and Sugas! I honestly thought both would land between #12 and #16 :o
Don't think much of the Ellie song tbh, glad Sugababes are doing really well, especially since they've done barely any promo.

They couldn't if his lead on iTunes stays this big, but it is possible if he starts falling.

'Lets Dance For Sport Relief' obviously effected much more than previously thought! (Without that performance I honestly think Sugas would be struggling to get top 10 at the moment) but who cares, it's called promotion for a reason so good on 'em for getting that particular slot!

Physical sales don't really count for much unless it's The X Factor Finalists, The X Factor winners single or a Peter Kay charity single. Most other cd singles must make up less than 2% of overall sales.

So I'm certain now that Jason Derulo will easily outsell all other new releases that come accompanied with a cd single. That said, I'm really surprised. I didn't think 'In My Head' would be this successful. I really don't get the fuss with the song. It's ok but certainly not worthy of no. 1 imo. I didn't think Ellie or Sugababes would get so high either although I'm glad for Sugababes as 'Wear My Kiss' is a decent song. Well, anything is better than 'Get Sexy'. :P

Hopefully GMTV can boost them to #4 on itunes tomorrow.

wow didnt expect ellie to do well with an okay song and an okay voice. probably due to brits.

sugababes doing well to (not sure if they should be called sugababes anymore tho, no originals :S)

I would never expected Jason Derulo to get a #1 this week if it happens, didn't see this coming to be honest, his single his pretty average to me, his previous single was so much better.

It seems tracks that are available on download each week are fairing much better than physicals, we probably going to see a lot more #1 tracks on downloads only in a few months time.

I remember Whatcha Say was #1 on iTunes for at least 11 days... how come it wasn't a number one? It was #1 from the Sunday-Sat.

X Factor and Peter Kay charity singles were strong on physicals ;)

XFF were big on physicals and MMHW was only a wee bit behind JD on itunes and with physicals just managed to pip him to the post as far as I believe. The second week Peter Kay was released and XXF physicals were still big.
