Sales count for nothing as they can be put down to hype, which Cheryl Cole had seeing as her Public Relations officer is Max Clifford who also looks after Simon Cowell; and previously looked after a post divorce Princess Diana; Kerry Katona; The Osbournes & Jade Goody to name a few hundred media whores .... the very latest being Jamie Bulger's mum.

Umm, no.

Max Clifford has nothing to do with Cheryl at all. Cheryl's PR agent is Sundraj Sreenivasan of SupersonicPR. The same PR as Girls Aloud.

And about Cheryl singing live - she's in the live lounge this Friday.

Yeah I've never known where TIP was getting this Max Clifford and Cheryl connection but never dared to say it...

Cheryl has always been managed by the same team, and I don't think she needs a second PR agent, Sundraj Sreenivasan is well recognised in the world of PR, and has always done a great job for Chezza.

Cheryl "solo" shares everything with GA: Same PR, same label, same management, even the same PA.

She has nothing to do with Max Clifford or his agency, or Simon Cowell's label which is what some people seem to think too.

Her contract for The X Factor is with ITV, too, not Simon Cowell or his company. Same in the states, if she goes over there for X Factor USA her contract will be with Fox, it's them she has to impress.

Given that the live lounge is on the radio, she doesn't have the 'i dance' excuse to get out of singing live. I don't doubt she can sing live, I just criticise her for rarely doing so.

How naive you are.

Time for a history lesson:

After 11 January 2003, when Cole was involved in an altercation with a nightclub toilet attendant, Sophie Amogbokpa, in "The Drink" nightclub in Guildford where Cole was subsequently charged with racially aggravated assault (she had allegedly called Amogbokpa a "Caribbean jigaboo" and a "black bitch") and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Where during her trial, Cole claimed she acted in self-defence (claiming she had been punched first) and denied using racially abusive language and the jury found her guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but cleared her of racially aggravated assault resulting in the judge sentencing her to 120 hours of community service and ordered her to pay her victim £500 in compensation, as well as £3,000 prosecution costs. Girls Aloud's PR Sundraj Sreenivasan called in the services of a certain Max Clifford for damage limitation purposes which was achieved rather successfully.

Similarly in early 2004 England international footballer Ashley Cole suffered allegations that he was involved in a "homosexual orgy" including allegedly sticking a mobile phone up his backside then getting someone to call the number and text on vibrate mode. In Footballing terms where very few players have come out as homosexual this was a very serious allegation, so he hired PR guru Max Clifford and sued the News of the World and The Sun newspapers for libel after they printed these allegations. Both the News of the World and The Sun later retracted the allegations with a payment to a charity of Ashley's choosing. Maybe due to Ashley's subsequent behaviour they were false after all.

He met Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole in September 2004, and they married after a very public courting in the glare of the media and perhaps the tackiest advert ever for the National lottery that even Katie Price & Peter Andre would have blushed from embarrassment of on 15 July 2006 in Wrotham Park, Hertfordshire - many critics within the media regarded the marriage as one of convenience due to the allegations made previously against both parties.

Especially as those with long memories remember Max Clifford had previously pulled off the same trick with the marriage of convenience between closet homosexual Michael Barrymore and his manager (and a good friend of Max's) another Cheryl (funnily enough) back at the beginning of the 1980s.

Over the past 30+ years Max Clifford has represented many people in the public eye in both an official and unofficial level. The most famous example of him allegedly representing a client in an unofficial capacity was with Princess Diana when her marriage ran into serious trouble and later with the divorce from Prince Charles; as the likes of close associates to Princess Diana such as her butler Paul Burrell whom spilled the beans on affairs she had had (which Max Clifford had kept out of the papers), which resulted in Max using his full power and influence to create a maelstrom against Diana's butler via the media. Max Clifford has become laughably legendary for talking about clientèle he represents in an unofficial capacity in the third person, by saying what he would do if he represented them.

It is well known that Max Clifford is orchestrating a similar role with Cheryl Cole at the moment, and has done since she was hired by Simon Cowell to be a judge on X-Factor.

Whilst he is allegedly supporting Gordon Brown in an unofficial capacity at the moment which has seen the beleaguered Labour Government have a bounce back in the poll ratings.

Don't make me go on again about the episode of Charlie Brooker's Newswipe which got removed from BBC's iPlayer after Max Clifford took out an injunction as it was all about the power and influence that Max Clifford has over major UK personalities and the media.

To outlook: Simon Cowell's Syco company agrees a budget with ITV as to the amount spent on the X-Factor show and paid to Simon Cowell's parent Syco company; from which the Syco parent company pays the wages including hiring the judges and agreeing to their salaries. In short it is Simon Cowell who decides who the judges are not ITV.

Simon Cowell's PR is Max Clifford which may well have played a significant factor in the appointment of Cheryl.

Whilst recent events suggest their is a growing conflict between Girls Aloud's PR Sundraj Sreenivasan and Cheryl's successful career away from Girls Aloud:

Cheryl Cole sparks rumours that she's left Girls Aloud for good

Girls Aloud fans were sent into a flap after Cheryl Cole referred to her membership of the girl troupe in the past tense.

Metro.co.uk

Looking worryingly thin and steering clear of any mention of her love woes, the embattled star was keen to talk about her own success as a solo star.

But while doing so, Cole described the band as ‘a girl group I was with for seven years’, sparking a flurry of web rumours that she had abandoned Girls Aloud once and for all.

The 26-year-old made her faux pas on Danish TV as she spoke in public for the first time since her marriage meltdown.

She performed on the country’s own version of The X Factor and told viewers how good it felt to reach the top of the charts under her own steam.

Reflecting on her three group No.1 successes, she told the TV host: ‘The previous three tracks were with a girl group I was with for seven years – so to be No.1 solo was crazy, like the best feeling in the world.’

But a spokesman for the group quickly cleared up her reference and insisted Chezza hasn’t walked... yet.

‘Cheryl is still a member of Girls Aloud. She was just putting her solo No.1 into context for an audience that would not be aware of Girls Aloud,’ said the spokesman.

The star is set for a showdown with hubby Ashley this week at their Surrey mansion.

Victoria Beckham has publicly offered a helping hand. Cheryl is ‘fantastic’ and would come through this ‘stronger than ever’, she told one newspaper.

Whilst also playing a clever PR blame game over a subsequent band split if it happens. Especially as Cheryl's solo career is far bigger internationally than Girls Aloud ever were:

Nadine Coyle 'far removed from Girls Aloud'

Tuesday, March 2 2010, 10:17 GMT

By Mayer Nissim, Entertainment Reporter

A rift has formed between Nadine Coyle and her Girls Aloud bandmates, it has been claimed.

Coyle recently rejected the suggestion from Kimberly Walsh that her relocation to Los Angeles was holding up the girl group's comeback.

However, a source told Heat: "The other four are in regular contact and see each other when they're not working. Nadine holds them back.

"She's so far removed from the band it's like she's left already. Nadine's jealous. Once upon a time, Nadine was the 'lead singer', the one the tabloids wrote about. Now everyone's forgotten about her."

It was also reported that Coyle did not get in touch with Cheryl Cole when the X Factor judge travelled to Los Angeles following her split from husband Ashley.

..... Still on a brighter note well done to Jonathan Ross getting in at short notice Charlotte "If I want five dogs without balls, I'll buy Girls Aloud!" Church as a guest on his show (I presume first choice Lily Allen was unavailable ), where Cheryl was due to chat and sing, but is now just singing as she does not want to talk about her personal life ....... until she gets interviewed by Piers Morgan on prime time Saturday night ITV later this Spring. I guess Jonathan Ross remembers getting screwed over by Max Clifford after Andrew Sach's grand daughter hired Max Clifford to play the victim card to cause his downfall from the BBC over that Russell Brand show prank phone call.

This all very LOL

Can you just give an actual evidence of Max Clifford working for Cheryl? All you do is saying he does/did, but you don't bring an actual proof of it. And even if he did unofficially give her some advice, there's nothing wrong, considering he seems to be an amazing PR agent.

And I won't even get into the whole GA splitting up, and I'm sad you get into it.

Cheryl mentioned "she was in a band for 7 years" (which is TRUE anyway) on a very quick TV interview in Denmark after her brillant FFTL performance, a country where no one knows who Girls Aloud are. Considering the short interview slot she got, she wasn't going to explain it all in details, the girls being on a hiatus and all, cause no one has heard/cares about GA in Denmark.

And I LOL even more at the Charlotte Church thingy. Last time Charlotte and Cheryl were in the same location, Charlotte only gave a nice and hypocrit "heya" to Cheryl and then went hiding. I don't think Cheryl has to fear anything...

Can we drag out the Leona/Will thing again? Cheryl loons are making me want to hurl.

Well, feel free to go and post somewhere else then.

We have to deal with the constant Cheryl hate & rubbish, so you'll have to deal with people defending her too. It's called "checks & balances" in political science ;)

And I rather be the "loon" than the sad "hater".

1) I do not HATE Cheryl. I actually quite like FFTL for a start

2) I do HATE members on this forum who believe anyone who does not think their fave artist is better than God (Cheryl or anyone else for that matter) is a 'hater' and they hate your fave artist cos they're so successful. This is not true I am neither loon nor hater. I like music. Like stated I like FFTL but I also dislike 3 Words a lot and do not respect Cheryl for miming at every chance when she sits and judges kids who have to sing live for 12 weeks straight on X-Factor.

3) This is a BASHING thread. If you wish to spread Cheryl love, then do it in the GA forum, Pop forum or just start an appreciation thread. This is supposed to be slightly humorous and a way for people to get things off their chest without disrupting other threads. Now you're disrupting this one with constant Cheryl praise when people are just trying to vent.

To help you out, I like these artists:

P!nk

Anastacia

Dido

Maroon 5

Arctic Monkeys

The Killers

Duffy

Stereophonics

KT Tunstall

Snow Patrol

Scissor Sisters

Gwen Stefani

Please pick any and all and bash them. You won't see me leaping so desperately to their defence because criticism of my fave artists does not upset me.

This is not only a bashing thread, it is the "Artist bashing thread, rant away and any iLoon-age" thread ;)

And I didn't say Cheryl was better than God thank you very much, I was replying to TIP's 4000 paragraphs of argumentation and trying to get the truth out of it all. Actually it was more like a discussion between people disliking/loving Cheryl but it was still respectful, so I don't exactly get your problem with people discussing?

Mehhhhh. Cheryl Cole is overated. End of.

haha - Cheryl Cole is $h!te... she's not rated at all though so I don't agree with your statement ;-)

Cheryl/GA loons may be bad but tbh I'd rather deal with them than a disgusting 4.0 loon.
And about Cheryl singing live - she's in the live lounge this Friday.

Or not.

If people think Cheryl Cole is over rated than she would have 2 UK number one singles and EVERYONE would love "3 Words". I do think that should stick to being part of Girls Aloud unless she's gonna do more exciting pop songs.

I hate all of Britney's "hit" singles, BOMT, OIDA, Toxic & Womanizer are awful singles, they get boring so quickly. "Born To Make You Happy" deffinatly got over shadowed by the whole OIDA era (even if it was a number one). I love her flops and medium sized hits like "Radar", "Break The Ice", "If U Seek Amy", "Lucky" and "Me Against The Music"

All those deserved higher places than they got. "Me Against The Music" 4 number 1

I think Cheryl may not be overrated but people are making a big deal of her. I think she is an OK dancer but a terrible singer. I also believe there are better artists than her... however Cheryl has got good promoters.

I personally dislike her - or even more - I can't stand her fans!

Born To Make You Happy is a bland pitiful excuse for a #1 tbh. Quite a few of her songs which peaked in the lower ends of the top 10 are better than some of the #1's admitetly but she can never quite be forgiven for the turd that was Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman.
