Posted February 23, 201015 yr I was thinking that there's probably a few tracks which have now passed over the million mark since the addition of downloads towards the chart. What does everyone else think? Edited February 24, 201015 yr by jackph89
February 24, 201015 yr Wonderwall has definitely passed 1m. I'm pretty sure Torn has as well. Angels certainly has - it was only 7k short, a year ago.
February 24, 201015 yr surely 2,000 people have downloaded long haired lover from liverpool since then..?
February 24, 201015 yr This is the list I've been looking for because I think there's a strong possibility that Julie Covington's Don't Cry For Me Argentina should have passed the million mark by now. Potentially that means that she - and not Alexandra Burke - was the first UK female artist to do so.
February 24, 201015 yr I'd be surprised if Another Brick In The Wall hasn't passed a million by now based on those figures...it would have only needed to sell about 20 copies a week to do so...
February 24, 201015 yr Author I bet that Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas and The Pogues - Fairytale of New York aren't too far off now too!
February 24, 201015 yr According to Everyhit.com ... Wonderwall has definitely made the million mark. I'm certain BFG has gone past the million mark - it was on one of those music programs a month or so ago UK million sellers. Angels must surely be there. Norma PS ... I can't seriously believe half of that sh/te that is in the million list anyway ... it'd be embarrassing to be amongst it! Robson & Jerome? Surely only old-age pensioners and women (and men possibly) who think a green-eyed midget angler and a big ugly bloke with a mis-shapen nose are a turn-on could have been buying that crap! And people on here have a go at young kids buying into JLS? I know which one I'd be less embarrassed admitting to buying if I were to do such a thing! Edited February 24, 201015 yr by Norma_Snockers
February 24, 201015 yr Norma, are you saying Robson Green is not good looking? I'm shocked. Are you insinuating because I am a female in the prime of my years I should fancy him? He isn't even a good actor, he's a crap angler and a worse swimmer. In fact ... given all his other short-comings ... singing is probably his strength! Norma
February 24, 201015 yr According to the biggest selling Oasis singles on the tv at the weekend, wonderwalls sales were 995k. Torn has been confirmed as a million seller
February 24, 201015 yr According to the biggest selling Oasis singles on the tv at the weekend, wonderwalls sales were 995k. Torn has been confirmed as a million seller Well this is a link to everyhit ... and this is a few years old. Oasis just makes it in there as a million seller. http://www.everyhit.co.uk/awardmill.html Norma
March 27, 201015 yr 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina', by Julie Covington, has definitely sold over a UK Million now. It was on 993,000 7 inch Vinyl Sales. With Downloads added in, it has sold over the Million. She joins Alexandra Burke, as the only 2 British Women to have UK Million Selling Singles. However - how many has 'Bleeding Love', by Leona Lewis sold - so far, in the UK? What about 'A Moment Like This', also by Leona? Edited March 27, 201015 yr by zeus555

EDIT: Sorry, this is for singles that should've passed 1 million, not those that could. Never mind :P Edited March 27, 201015 yr by Starstrukk
March 27, 201015 yr I bet that Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas and The Pogues - Fairytale of New York aren't too far off now too! Well I know for sure that All I Want For Christmas Is You is no where near.
March 27, 201015 yr Well I know for sure that All I Want For Christmas Is You is no where near. I'd say Mariah isaround 500k and The Pogues around 650k.
March 28, 201015 yr Author I'd say Mariah isaround 500k and The Pogues around 650k. Oh really?? I guess it would be that much, did around 200k on first release and has done about 100k each year in the past few years!
March 28, 201015 yr Author Why haven't Black Eyed Peas or Lady Gaga been put on the list? EDIT: Sorry, this is for singles that should've passed 1 million, not those that could. Never mind :P Plus the data's from 2005 so it doesn't even have songs like Bleeding Love on it which could also be quite near the million mark! Would be great if the OCC could release an up to date version... maybe they'll release one in the next Virgin Hit Singles book!
March 28, 201015 yr Wonderwall and Torn were confirmed by Music Week as passing a million some time ago. Bleeding Love is a few short I believe.
