I think its just her throwing a strop tbh, if she wants to be taking legal action then she should be taking legal action against the record label that own the image rights, the record label/management company could fire Amelle/Jade and Heidi tomorrow and drag 3 people out of the nearest Starbucks and call them the Sugababes, its their toy they can do what they like with it, the Sugababes performers don't own the name so this legal action is pointless

Mother f***ing win. I love you Phil.

beautifully stated!!!!

You're worthy of K's blessing

 Thanks guys!

Silas - I honestly don't believe Siobhan spoke about how & why she left the group to try and sell records. Why? Because ever since she left she's been saying the same thing - even before she released her first record. I just think it's a case of people caring more about why she left instead of her music (which is a shame) and she answers those questions everytime. I'm sure they'll be asked again when her next record is released, too. That's one thing I respect about her - she doesn't give a f*ck. She won't mess fans about like Heidi & Amelle saying crap like "oh, it was unbearable. She was awful...but I still respect her". Siobhan pulled out the damn list and told us everything we wanted to know re: why her being in the band didn't work out. I like her honesty. There was no p*ssy-footing around. And you know, she's been saying the same thing for the last ten years.

I'm going off a bit here, but I've just read yet ANOTHER story from Heidi & Amelle about Keisha and I just think instead of saying it was unbearable, tell us WHY it was unbearable. And what makes me laugh is they say all these awful things and then add onto the end "but I still respect Keisha".

I wasn't being serious about Siobhan  She was always gonna sell 7copies of Ghosts.

Lemme just say, I am not a 4.0 loon (I figured you were speaking to me). 1.0 is my favorite line-up and will always be the Sugababes to me.

And lastly, I don't want to have anymore arguments over Keisha. I'm actually ruining my own view on the first three line-up when my hate towards her starts growing.

I think she doesn't stand a chance (label most likely owns the name when they signed to it in 2001-2002(?)).

Did i say you were?

She has signed the deal with Island giving them the brand in that way. No matter for how much she or Mutya have worked for the brand, they don't own it and from the legal point of view she has no chance. End of. Of course I also don't like the fact of Jade/Heidi/Amelle named as Sugababes but I got used to it because we can't do anything with it, we should just deal with it.
You may have a point Phil but if they sold the rights to the brand name and the image rights to Island then she will be laughed out of court and have to pay huge damages

My understanding is that the girls surrendered the rights to the brand name to Island so none of them have any control over the name bar the record label and management company

Amelle/Heidi/Jade don't own the rights to the Sugababes name or the image rights, I doubt this will even come to court I think its Keisha trying to get some free publicity on the back of WMK/S7 and it will be quietly brushed under the carpet before too long

As i said, she isn't trying to ride off the back of WMK and S7 this will have been started after she was booted.

If she wasn't going to get laughed out of court it wouldn't be going there.

AFAIK this situation hasn't appeared in a court before. There is no precedence and therefore no telling what way the judge would rule.

Any contract Keisha and Mutya signed regarding the name can be declared void as they were both minors at the time therefore giving Keisha/Mutya full ownership of the brand name, i would imagine that is where her lawyers are going to start. If it goes to court it's $h!t loads of publicity for both sides, Keisha was always going to have a reasonable solo career. Look how many people have jumped ship. Granted we've gained some, but not as many as we've lost.

I can see Keisha potentially winning this and coming away with 1] The brand name, 2] $h!t loads of cash 3] A proportion of all earnings made by things branded with Sugababes. or 4] a mix there of

I imagine it is the Management she's sueing.

Totally agree with Phil.

Heidi & Amelle were lucky enough to be invited into the group, they're not 'sugababes' imo. Hope Keisha wins and gets a successful solo career too. Would write more but cba, but yeah basically Keisha ftw!

And that 'but shez a bullie!1' is such a $h!t excuse, I'm pretty sure Heidi isn't completely innocent imo ...

But that would be just the first contract, when Mutya left they would have had a new contract and this is probably when they surrendered the name as I suspect they were signed as individuals this time around, that is why Jade signed a new contract but Heidi and Amelle didn't following the most recent contract.

If the label took on the name it would have been Mut and K that signed it away. Heidi/Amelle couldn't sign it away as it was never theirs to sign away.

When Mutya left iirc they signed a deal to extend their existing contract, which would be what Mel signed

All they'll do is add an extra letter or number anyway LOL (Like Liberty X for example HAHA!)

If the management has to pay Keisha for using the name they will probably drop the Sugababes.

Sugababes aren't that succesful anymore to be worth millions of dollars to keep.

Siobhan said as recently as last October that she and Keisha were not and wouldn't ever be friends.

Things are going to get very messy if this is true. Not because of the current line up but because of what happened at the start of the band up until Heidi joining.

The Sugababe story has always been Siobhan being the solo artist. Mutya then brought in and the pair of them were a duo under the name 'Sugababies' Which is what their manager used to call them. Mutya who was friends with Keisha then got Keisha to come to the studio one day and Keisha then joined. Then later a new rumour about how Sugababy was Keisha's nickname came about. But all long term fans know this isn't true and plently TV footage and mag interviews from the start of the group confirm this.

So their first manager will be called to give evidence as will Siobhan and Mutya, then of course it will all have to become public knowledge in court about why Keisha was then sacked. So I hope Keisha is prepaired for all the $h!t she will get thrown at her because I don't see how she can win this unless their first manager is suing as well.

All the bullying claims will also be used. Siobhan will have to explain herself as will Mutya and Keisha, as well as the current line up. Mutya and Keisha crossed words after Mutya left and we all know the Siobhan stuff. None of this will be ignored in court.

Will Siobhan HAVE to go if she is called? Because I honestly can't see her bothering with any of this mess. Even when the news broke that Keisha was sacked, she still kept a relatively low profile & she's always said that she isn't interested. Actually, there was one quote I remember her saying - something about buying 4.0's album now that Keisha was out (ouch). But they've met several times since then anyway and as far as we know, there's no more ill feelings on either side.

I can see Mutya already getting her best suit out & booking hair, make-up, pedicures, etc to make sure she looks good on the day - even if she isn't called to the witness stand (kidding - I love her).
