While I'm pleased for these artists (Jay Sean & Taio deserve their success), I can't believe these "lightweight" tracks are what the americans are eating up right now.

Everybody in Love

Interesting choice...I would have gone with one of the other two  I guess with J.R. Rotem being the producer it's the most 'US friendly' of the three though.

I honestly thought 'Beat Again' would be more likely to smash over there than EIL, but that was before I heard of Jason Derulo and Iyaz LOL. JR Rotem, is the RedOne of this year it seems. But JLS have got no chance unless they add Lil Jon or something :heehee: But I guess having a track produced by Rotem is what'll do it for them.
I love how most of Jason DeRulo's album has identical intros/closes to the opening few seconds of Everybody In Love

"Everybody In Love" is "Love In This Club" Pt 2, so it's the ideal choice for the American market

I'm glad Taio Cruz is doing so well, even though I don't like the song.

I was also thinking the other day that Tinchy Stryder's Never Leave You would actually be HUGE in the US I reckon.

Jay Sean and Taio Cruz are R&B/Pop vocalists featuring US rappers.

Tinchy and Chipmunk are british (so-called) rappers featuring vocalists. Not sure what the american market will make of their attempts

I know I just wanted to make a Sugababes connection

I was reading this thread at work this afternoon during my lunch and was completely surprised to see Taio Cruz no. 1 in the US iTunes chart. I personally don't think it's his best track despite its three weeks at no. 1 in the UK last Autumn (I prefer 'Come On Girl' much more).

Still, it's great to see another British artist getting success in the US. I wonder if 'Break Your Heart' will hit no. 1 in the US Billboard Hot 100? :o Downloads have the best thing to happen to the US charts - just imagine how crap and shallow the US no. 1 singles of 2009 would've been with just airplay!!! It's not even work considering.

To be honest, I'd prefer 'I Gotta Feeling' being no. 1 in the US for 52 weeks the 104 weeks of hell that were 2003 and 2004 (156 if you include 2006).
