March 19, 201015 yr I prefer The Promise, Sound Of The Underground, The Loving Kind and Love Machine to all of those :kink: I prefer Shape to The Promise and The Loving Kind, and i'd quite happily forget the Sugababes ever recorded Shape, never mind released it. I do live a bot of Love Machine and SOTU neither can touch 75% of the Sugababes back catalogue for me. They just lack something for me
March 19, 201015 yr Author All the talk of Sugababes VS Girls Aloud. but will any other bands get into the top 5? :kink:

They just lack something for me I was always on GA's side of the fence, they're the only act (besides Delta) that I own every single by. Sugas have always been incredibly hit and miss for me singles wise. I own all of their albums apart from the first two but they've never been an act I've been madly in love with. I only have three of their singles on CD; Push The Button, Ugly (loved everything about the Taller In More Ways era ) and About You Now. Obviously I'm a big fan of Change, Catfights and Spotlights and Sweet 7 too, even though it's completely unfashionable to admit to liking these albums :heehee: Sugababes have had about 5 or 6 top ten hits in my chart, GA have had more than 30
March 19, 201015 yr All the talk of Sugababes VS Girls Aloud. but will any other bands get into the top 5? :kink: I think it would be a complete embarrassment if at least one Spice Girls track didn't feature, seeing as they are the definitive girl group.

I know own everything apart from three discs, technically 1 seeing as the other two are on their way :w00t: Angels With Dirty Faces is worth shelling out the £3/4/5 for  it's stunning, with the exception of Shape and the Alternate Mix of Round Round. I love everything about the Three era, 12/14 tracks are 10/10 for me with 1 9.5 and a 9  The b-sides are all 9.5-10/10  I don't own any GA single but i have SOTU, WWTNS, Chemistry and TU on CD.

I might buy them eventually just to complete the album collection. I liked all of the 1.0 singles at least, although I'm not sure I'd enjoy One Touch. I need to give Three an indepth listen at some point. Shape was horrible, the only positive thing about it is that two months after its release Craig David came along using the same sample and managed to make it an even worse use out of it

There were two good things about the Shape release 1] The video is amazing and 2] The B-side. Their cover of Killer is amazing.
March 19, 201015 yr Tbh; I own 0 Girls Aloud singles, 1 singles boxset including 21 singles (see, it was all worth the wait :kink:), 4 Girls Aloud albums and a Girls Aloud DVD. I own 1 Sugababes single.

Oddly enough though, I've ALWAYS preferred GA's singles (like you) but I've only got 'Sound Of The Undergroung' & 'Untouchable' on CD. It's criminal I don't own my personal favourites by each act though. ('Somethin' Kinda Ooooh' & 'About You Now'!) Both of which had better be top 10 at LEAST in this countdown! 'Freak' is awfully overrated. Never, ever saw the appeal myself. I own 'Change' & 'Catfights & Spotlights' on CD. (Will eventually buy 'Sweet 7' when and if I can afford it.) 'Change' is so underappreciated! Just because it's safe doesn't mean it's bad or even "awful" as I've seen some people call it :(. 'Change' is one of my all-time favourite albums. Incredibly strong. I can't say I'm much of a Suga fan though, as I dislike the "fan-favourites" from that album with a PASSION! ('Never Gonna Dance Again' & 'My Love Is Pink') ADORE every other track though. Oh and 'Stop' by Spice Girls still remains to this day one of the best pop songs/girl group songs ever recorded  It would have done so well in 2008 I think!

Their cover of Killer is amazing. I have their cover of Killer on an album actually, a charity covers album of #1's or something that I picked up randomly...it's decent I agree!

I couldn't agree more about Freak Like Me - kudos to the reinvention and capturing a popular sound/moment in time but I was too obsessed with Atomic Kitten to care :kink: I absolutely love Change too, every song including the fan favourites! It's the only album of theirs that went to #1 in my chart at least  Sweet 7 will be in Poundland by May so you can buy it then :funky:
March 19, 201015 yr I feel completely sad now because I own every single, every album, the singles boxset and every DVD that they've released (which is about 6 or 7) :drama: Haha, don't worry, I'll get them over time. :P I'm actually looking for the special edition of 'The Sound Of... Greatest Hits' as it has some live/bonus tracks on it. I'll get the original 'Sound Of The Underground' eventually, too. :P

Did we get to rate Girls Alouds version of 'Stay Another Day'? If not, why not? :( I think it's pretty good

The Sound Of...bonus disc features GA's version of Sacred Trust - sadly even they can't make this dire song sound any good :drama:
March 19, 201015 yr oooh that reminds me. Did we get to rate Girls Alouds version of 'Stay Another Day'? If not, why not? :( I think it's pretty good   Was also a #1 in my personal chart. I'm coming across as a massive Girls Aloud loon in this thread I realise  It was a b-side though, as opposed to the double a-side it was scheduled to be originally.
March 19, 201015 yr I can't believe how much hate "Shape" gets! :( I think it's a gorgeous song. The strength of the Sugababes back catalogue makes it far from my favourite of theirs, but it's certainly not awful. Oh and 'Stop' by Spice Girls still remains to this day one of the best pop songs/girl group songs ever recorded  It would have done so well in 2008 I think! I agree with this. (though I was/am so obsessed with the Spice Girls that anything sounds good by them) A lot of their material is a bit dated now, but I think "Stop" would sound just as good if released today. I'd guess that it's probably the single of theirs that gets the most airplay at the moment (though their music seems to have been erased from our minds) so it's a shame it was their first to miss out on #1. :drama:
