Have no idea why "Perfect Stranger" didn't make the cut, it's a great track.

As for the new leaks, eh, seriously, they're both average. "Burned Love" sounds OK for a standard Leona ballad, but "Playground" is so dull. The production sucks. I'm hoping these won't be considered for the new album. I hope this isn't the kind of record we have to look forward to, as "Echo" - although not as commercially successful as "Spirit" - was an amazing sophomore album. Some of the tracks came straight out of the 90's, but it's so much more artistic. Come on Leona, deliver some rehashes of "Can't Breathe" for the third record!

I know :( It leaked long before Echo tracklisting was confirmed but several others which did too made the final listing. No idea why it got left off. Such a shame.

Perfect stranger is amazing! i loved that song the first time i heard it!

Holy crap, I second that! "Strangers" had possibly the best backing track Leona's ever been given. Anthemic. The one we've heard is the unfinished version, I would love to hear what it sounds like after completion. It's actually one of my favourite Leona songs, even if the verses are a little weak.

Oh wow for Strangers love. I adore it too :) People seemed to really dislike it though lol.

 

I think both should have been on the album.

I also loved Strangers. It got me the very first time I heard it. I would love to hear a finished version.

I wish she would release a deluxe edition of Echo with finished versions of all those amazing leaked tracks on a 2nd disc (particularly Perfect Stranger, Strangers, Scene of the Crime, Can't Fight It, Perfection, How Everything You Are, Hero and Save Myself) :wub: ....that would be orgasmic!

And after that she goes back to basics – straight into the studio to record her third album.

So, as expected, she's working with David Guetta (apparently). Honestly, I'm getting less excited about this. Everything is just coming across a little too false for my liking. She should've jumped on the bandwagon a year ago (if she were going to). I'm going to reserve judgment until we hear something, but I have a feeling it's just going to be so unoriginal.

Some good news, however, J.R. Rotem ("Better in Time", Jason Derulo's work etc.) & Ne-Yo are on board.

J.R. Rotem + Leona :wub: 'Better In Time' is still one of her best singles/songs. Ne-Yo speaks for itself really :P Although at times his work can be quite dull... so will be interesting. I'm actually interested for the Leona & Guetta song/s. I know it'll be typical Guetta, but I wanna know how he makes it work because I'm confident enough they can make it work.

We don't know Guetta is definitely going to happen but if so I'm far more excited about him than predictable Ne-Yo. He always keeps his best songs for himself and I'm much more excited about her possibly getting a When Love Takes Over than one of his bland songs.

I find Ne-Yo quite hit or miss, but I'd much prefer his slick production to Guetta's overplayed dance beat. It's all down to personal preference, which is why I said I was less excited for the project because you just knew they were going to take this route. It's very possible - even if she does work with him - that his record(s) won't make the cut because I'm sure "sound" will be even more overexposed than it is now when it comes round to the album release. I really hope it's not going to be record full of RedOne & Guetta productions because I think I may boycott it. Leona wouldn't do that, though, she knows it would be too contrived to make that much of shift in her musical direction so late on in this era of dance music.

As reported earlier, Leona Lewis is currently hard at work on her 3rd studio album. Now the singer, who has reportedly teamed up with David Guetta, Ne-Yo and J.R. Rotem, has now brought producer Dallas Austin into the mix. Austin is known for his work with TLC ('Creep'), Blu Cantrell ('Hit 'Em Up Style') and many others.

 

Let's see if Lewis' new found sass and Austin's skill can create magic. Either way, it's refreshing to see that she's not putting her fate in the hands of the increasingly redundant Ryan Tedder.
