Wow at Laura Marling. Didn't expect it that high at all. Of course it will probably fall by Sunday though, but still a HUGE success for her. :o

 

And I'm sure there'll be some new entries in the top 40 by the end of the week... still looking at a very dead chart though. Don't think I'll bother listening to the chart show.

Most likely we lose Robbie tomorrow, he is currently at #39, probably get replaced by a Glee Cast track.

 

Ke$ha [TT] and Cheryl [FFTL] have dropped out of the top 40 singles chart from last week.

Wow :o that show was something of a mass revival for Boyzone considering the way Gave It All Away had been tumbling! Maybe a lot of people simply weren't aware of the song's existence? It's not like it had had much airplay, radio or TV-wise, before its release. I've started hearing it a fair bit now though.

That Boyzone song is the best thing they've ever done by a mile! I dont think Joe Public was aware of it until they seen the ITV special... Hopefully it will stick around for a bit :)

Lack of new releases is probably the reason why these mega old songs are climbing up. Journey though was used in Harry Hill or something, which explains why it's climbed to where it has.

 

Amazing to see 'Overcome' back in the Top 40 :cheer: That's just after one performance on 'Dancing On Ice'. Who said 'All Night Long' wouldn't sell the album? :kink:

'Fireflies' would probably be a cover that someone would have chosen to do. Cheryl Cole or not. They ALWAYS covers songs which were hits, but are slowly dying away now...

With the boyzone tribute show netting 7.5 million viewers i kinda expected them to return to number 1 in the album chart this week, didnt see such a huge climb coming for the single though.

 

Great to see cheryl cole make the top 5 i hope she holds on to #4 and if she does it will be her 3rd out 4 solo singles (including her featurete on will.iam heatbreaker)to have a number 4 peak.

 

I expected goldfrapp to be a strong challenge for number 1 this week but it probabbly wont even go top 3 now, i was supose the lead single flopped so that wont have helped.

 

No surprise at the sugababes falling and i dont think it will be top 40 this week as last week it seems only core fans purchased the album and for teh few who didnt they are the only ones who will buy it this week along with a very few casual buyers.

Sad really indeed that I had no choice to listen as Radio 1 is the only station that is being played where I am.How strange to think anyone other than her delusional fans would make an effort to listen to her "singing".
