Regarding Christina, isn't Not Myself Tonight only getting a release in US on April 13th. I don't understand why Christina and her management would release it early.

It's a bit soon...

 Marina releasing Shampain... It's ok, but total wrong choice... Obsessions or Oh No! would be so much better
WTF! Christina is releasing Not Myself Tonight in 2 weeks. :o :yahoo:

Ok well that title seems too desperate. Just put this era out of it's misery and shoot it in the head. Rihanna has f**ked up her career.
WHAT?! 'Rated R', started slow, but it's gained momentum now and has now become quite a big success. I don't see how she's "f***ed up her career" at all.

EDIT: Oh and WTF at 'Shampain' being released as Marina's next single :drama:

The following might sound like a contradiction but oh well:

Firstly, there is no other real mainstream hit on the album that can match Rude Boy and to a far lesser extent Hard.

And i meant Ri has f**ked her career up commercially (she could have easily had a huge album after GGGB but went for this thing) and in terms of quality (again, GGGB was a masterpiece, Rihanna should stick to her strengths).

Rihanna will definitely recover but only if she has decent marketing and material.

 i'm so happy 'Not Myself Tonight' getting a release in two weeks :cheer: but the albums out in June  does that mean it'll be released along with the second single?

I'm sorry but I completely disagree. I think 'Fire Bomb' (Which seems to be a "fan favourite") would do amazingly well if promoted correctly (something like 'Rude Boy''s promo) and got given the amazing video it deserves. But I agree in the fact the album doesn't have as many commercial hits as GGGB did. But it doesn't mean she still can't get hits out of it.

I strongly disagree with the "Ri has f***ed her career up commercially" line too. She COULD have done another GGGB Part 2, but she didn't, which showed that she is trying to improve her sound and doesn't want to keep the same fan-base by releasing the same things again and again. 'Rated R' has been perfect in the sense it has bought in some new fans for her. Had she stuck to the same pop formula as GGGB she would have been criticised for not moving forward with her sound and just trying to create another GGGB, which could have backfired more than 'Rated R' as people could think "Oh I have GGGB, I'll just stick with that". She's managed to change her sound quite drastically, bring in some new fans whilst still keeping her core fanbase.

I think RiRi gets alot of stick for this era. I personally think it's been her strongest era. Yeah she hasn't got as many "classics" like 'Umbrella'/'Don't Stop The Music'/'Disturbia', but it's a hell of alot more consistent and it's quite different to other things we have in the charts at the moment.

Ugh. Finally someone has put what I was thinking into word form. Thanks Jonjo. :)

Ooh, that should kick the charts up the ass then :P At least it gives Kate Nash a chance to have one week at the top.

Songs I'm looking forward to than I haven't heard yet :) :

Allison Iraheta - Friday I'll Be Over You

Christina Aguilera - Not Myself Tonight

David Guetta & Chris Willis ft. Fergie & LMFAO - Gettin' Over You (This must be different to the album version as that does not contain Fergie and LMFAO... Particularly looking forward to this because the album version is AMAZING! ).

Gorillaz - Superfast Jellyfish

Meat Loaf - Los Angeloser

Robin Thicke ft. Estelle - Rollacoasta

Toni Braxton - Yesterday

30 Seconds To Mars - This Is War

Esmée Denters confirmed on the chart show yesterday that she'll be releasing 'Love Dealer' with Justin Timberlake as her next single. :)
Marina & The Diamonds – Shampain [28th Jun]

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG i hope this is true!!!

I have to say I agree with Jonjo, the suggestions the Rated R era should be ended here are totally ludicrous. Fair enough the album got off to a shaky start in the beginning but with 'Rude Boy' it's recovered really well, and you certainly don't end the era randomly after such a huge smash. Maybe if the album has genuinely bombed and the second single has done the same and done nothing to save it, but that's so far from the case here. Just can't see any logic I'm afraid...
