Top 3 - DAMN! :cheer: :cheer:

If she performed anything at the Grammys, she'd go to #1 in an instant!

Woo Rihanna top 10! didn't think Only Girl was the US style. Hope its a #1 in the UK

Florence & The Machine seriously number 3 :o I didn't expect that, even after the VMA

s!

She might even overtake Usher looking at those pop bars. :yahoo:

Now it is just a case of how long Dog Days can sustain a good position, fingers crossed she can at least stay in the top 20 by the end of the week. Cosmic Love seems to be the second most popular Florence track so hopefully that will get a proper release there. It deserves international success.

So glad to see Florence so high after her performance, looks like she'll finally be big over in the US.
What is her airplay like though? If it's low/non-existent, the VMA effect will almost certainly be gone by the time it builds up steam there. Hopefully it can somehow hang on and make the top 10 officially. It's times like these that I really hate the way the US charts work. :arrr:

I doubt there will be any airplay right now, but if it can hang onto top 5 on iTunes until Sunday, I think (hope) that will be enough for top 10 officially.

Only Girl will probably debut at its peak in the UK, and then fall too. That doesn't make it a dire song, it's just the market in the UK.

If a song is popular enough then surely it would maintain its sales even if it did enter at #1 - even if it spent just a second week at no. 1, I've always thought that the no. 1 should be worthy of its peak. A #1 going in at no. 1, dropping to 20 then 39 (like McFly did in 2005) is abysmal. A song going 1-1-2-4-7-12-etc... shows the song has been selling more consistantly and therefore is worthy of its peak position. This is only my opinion of what a #1 should represent.

Nice to see Florence having single a hit because the album already passed 100k mark some months ago.

Edited by Addy!

That Florence track has been used in loads of TV shows stateside, so I think a lot of ppl were finally able to put a name to the song.

Yeah, I went on holiday there a couple of months ago, and I heard it in TV adverts and in shops.

Bitter Sweet Symphony Top 40 :o

Well, in a way, it's been top 40 for a while in the form of Ridin' Solo.

But that sample never made it passed the demo stage and isn't in the final single edit...
