April 21, 201015 yr Author I agree this is the debate I fully expect Clegg to win easily. Everyone expects him to win this foreign policy one. They didn't expect him to win last week's and look what happened though!! The third will probably be the most crucial anyway.
April 21, 201015 yr Author Which TV channel(s) is it on? Is this a Sky only one? Sky News 8 to 9.30 pm. Also Radio 4 simulcast. Then BBC2 at 11.30pm.
April 21, 201015 yr I agree this is the debate I fully expect Clegg to win easily. Maybe, I'll take that statement back. However thinking about the Lib Dems foreign affair policies. I'm not so sure the abolition of the UK's Trident nuclear deterrent system; the dismantalling of the British Army, Navy and Air forces to became part of a European military force controlled by the EU will sit too well the British public. Nor will their unlimited open door immigration policy sit too well with a lot of potential voters .......

The economy one I think Cameron will win by a landslide Long as he gets through that one ok I think he will win this election comfortably I am still 99% sure that Cameron will be PM on May 7th with a comfortable majority
April 21, 201015 yr Author I don't think we should abandon Trident. What a daft proposal from the Lib- Dems.

Yeah good point, all those ideas bar trident are flaky as far as i am concerned I am anti trident, we already have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world several times over and the 80bn that a replacement for trident would cost could fund a lot of tax cuts and heating bills for the elderly and police and nurses, waste of money far as I am concerned

April 21, 201015 yr When in doubt, default to referencing Charlie Brooker: This will be another good debate for Clegg; leader of the only party that opposed the war. Young girls will be swooning in the streets as Clegg pummels Gormless Moron Gordon and Posh Blair Dave again and again; whilst ignoring he has as much substance as Queen Cheryl critiquing on X-Factor.

Nor will their unlimited open door immigration policy sit too well with a lot of potential voters ....... It's not unlimited immigration though? And the dismantling of the British forces isn't in their manifesto... On Trident, I personally agree that it ought to be dismantled, but it seems to be quite a divisive subject. It's definitely not the silver bullet against the Lib Dems in this debate, which I personally think is their policy on the Euro (they say the conditions aren't right now, but it's in the UK's long-term interests to join the Euro). I also agree that it is in the UK's long-term interests to join the Euro, but it depends entirely on how long-term you mean by long-term. I somehow doubt Clegg means by the end of the century by long-term
April 21, 201015 yr A poll at the weekend showed strong support for scrapping the replacement for Trident so that's not a weak point at all. The toughest part for Clegg will be on the EU where I broadly agree with him but accept that I'm in a minority. However, he knows that part will be tough and should therefore be prepared. Watch out for a new Cameron time-shift. Perhaps along the lines of "I met a 35-year-old man who served in the second world war and he told me we should give India independence".
April 21, 201015 yr I don't see the benefit of us having a separate currency from Europe when it's near enough 1:1 with a far stronger currency. I'm ridiculously proEuro and EU. I also think we should be part of the Schengen Zone. This we're an Island we should be special nonsense is just bull $h!t. Iceland is an Island and they are in the Schengen Zone. I will never vote for a party who is anti-EU. Trident is a colossal waste of money. If the Government are keen to throw £100bn away i'd be more than happy to take it and emigrate
April 21, 201015 yr It's not unlimited immigration though? And the dismantling of the British forces isn't in their manifesto... Correct. It'll be in the Hate Mail version of the manifesto though. Along with implementing the EU directive which makes eating babies for breakfast mandatory. Even for vegetarians.
April 21, 201015 yr I'm really worried Clegg is going to try and water down his policies tomorrow out of fear. Which would just end up making him look foolish. He needs to be honest about and proud of the Lib Dem policies.

April 22, 201015 yr Author LMAO. Sky News have just said that Cameron was asked what he did last Thursday afternoon before the debate and he said "Samantha and I went to bed" TMI :o. Edited April 22, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew
April 22, 201015 yr Can someone help me on who to vote for? I'm a recent graduate and I'm really looking to vote for a party that can help graduates from the dire situation they are in, clearly Labour is not the party to do this.

Vote conservative Labour's jobs tax (1% NI rise) will not help the business climate and also a vote for the Lib Dems means 5 more years of Brown as Lib Dems will do a deal with Brown
April 22, 201015 yr Vote conservative Labour's jobs tax (1% NI rise) will not help the business climate and also a vote for the Lib Dems means 5 more years of Brown as Lib Dems will do a deal with Brown Can I be guaranteed a better financial position if I vote Tories. I am definetely not voting Labour anyway. Four years at uni with several internships and all I can get in Scotland is a $h!tty office job. I'm having to move to England in a few months for a proper job as Scotland can't provide this.
