As I've said before I can't understand why you wouldn't want the download to be out for another 2 weeks Aly. Now is the perfect time. The video's already been out a fortnight and it's getting maximum exposure so waiting any longer is only going to lose her sales. The physical might get 5,000 or so which will give her a boost in her third week on the chart, right before the album release. What they're doing is perfect.

 

I've just bought it. Here's hoping, as the song of the year so far, it gets to the top (although I'm doubtful). And yes RP, I'm worried about Oz too. I think they're dissatisfied with how she seems to have practically abandoned them. I don't think she's performed live on TV there since the promotion for Come Into My World! I don't blame them for being pissy.

I see what your saying but kylie will easily sell 5,000 phyiscials and more and it would annoy me if she misses out on the number 1 by something like 3,000 copies. But i said in an easrlier post number 1isnt everything, yes,it would be nice but im happy once this sells well and also that the album sells well, im hoping aphrodite can out do X sales which are around 500,000 in the UK i think, id love aphrodite to go at least double platnum and stay around the chart for a good bit, another fever cgart run would be great althoug i cant see it selling anywhere near as good as fever, on syaing that i would love to be proven wrong.

I agree with you. I'd much rather Aphrodite did big business and the subsequent singles make top 10 than All The Lovers go to #1 and the era ends up being really front-loaded. I think to be considered a true success the album needs to do 600,000 or more in the UK. I have high hopes with Get Outta My Way as the second single (and I know you'll come to love it!).

At the moment i dont have big hopes on get outta my way, on saying that i havent heard it properly yet so i will wait til that happens. However, im one of the very few kylie fans who hates confide in me and regard it her worst single so i hope getta out my way isnt another one of those for me.

 

I think if the singles do well aphrodire will do 600,000, if parlophone had picked the right singles in the right order X would have definitly gone double platnum, so all going well Aphrodite will garner 4 top 10 singles that will boost album sales.

A fortnight is not enough, it needs more like around a month of exposure and it'll be lucky to go top 5 this week and probably struggle on the official release date now too because of this. It wouldn't have lost them sales (or at least hardly anything significant, around the same that would affect anybody). But hey, her record company are idiotic and this is the same label that botched the release of 'The One' so badly.

I completely agree with you Silver Rocket. It would be much better for a release on the 28th with the physical, right now all the world cup songs are going to rise after yesterday's England game, and it would have higher sales with the download and physical out on the same week.

I think the strategy of 13th June on downloads and 2 weeks later on physicals which is a week before the album launch would be perfect if it wasn't for the World Cup. With this I'm in two minds about it. But then again, now it's doing pretty well in iTunes. Yes, we won't get #1 but if the release has been on 27th on downloads we would have lost a lot of sales from the following two weeks.

Gabriella's second album has been a disaster all round unfortunately, which is a shame as it is damn good.

 

With regards to Kylie, what's done is done now and we just have to hope and pray.
