WHAT?! Heidi is the prettiest out of the current line up.

I still stand strong with the view that when Amelle joined that the Sugababes went downhill.

That's pretty much a given. Saying that the music went downhill is of course subjective but they definitely started to have less succes. In fact, the last hit they had in the Netherlands was Red Dress (the first one with Amelle). About You Now only got to #18.

I think the album would have flopped regardless. I love my K but the band was already a joke by the time Get Sexy came out. Their sound on this album is soo tried, dated and desperate. However without the drama it wouldn't have flopped as bad. It would definitely have outsold catfights and spotlights but I doubt it would have been a huge hit. However, the huge flop is due to Queen K being ousted. I really don't get why people are upset over it though. I mean did they really expect the album to be a hit after firing the only member that kept the group alive? I think the replacements are totally expired.

i agree, Mutya walking did the band a lot of harm

Commercially they've dived, the musical quality has followed their sales, with the exception imo of C&S which i think is an underrated gem.

Change could of been a million seller if they re-released or had the album full of good songs in the first place. Plus the Change wasn't a good choice especially christmas week. About You now was still top 20 when they released it. Plus they should of taken longer on Catfighs and should of worked with timbo when he offered. Plus the Catfights single campaign shouldn't of finished after No Can Do(which shouldn't of been released). They really cut off all male fans (casual and big fans) by going down the womamn inpowerment route with Girls and the No Can Do video. Then Sweet 7 should of been big but they went to the extreme from CF's they still have some very good songs on the album and could of made a very good campaign but the (sexy)image change harmed them alot with Get Sexy then when Keisha left. About A Girl was rushed out(stupidly) then they kept the same track-listing that keisha recorded and which had leaked months before the release. Then WMK which by far one of the weakest songs off the album.

I think they've had a problem at not sticking to album campaigns and give up at any sight of trouble. If they had some good material and pushed they would be fine

Stop. Please stop. All of you. :( Amelle joining the 'babes is when I realised just how much I truly loved them. 'Red Dress' won me over from casual fan, to "omg they're amazing" Not only that, but it also got me to try-out some of their past albums, all of which I was disappionted in. The 'Change' era took my Sugababes fandom to a whole new level. Especially 'About You Now'! Which, to this day, remains a modern day classic and is one of the best songs, ever imo. I can sorta see why 'babes fans would be pissed off that 'Change' was "too safe" or whatever, but it worked for them and will forever be my favourite SB album. 'Catfights & Spotlights' was a major disappointment for me at the time. But I grew to appreciate it, despite the disastrous singles choices. Which remain two of SB worst ever singles. 'Sweet 7' got old fast, but when it was good, my God what an album . The creativity and credibility of the group may have went as soon as Mutya did, but imo, The 'babes started doing what suited them the most as soon as she left. But all this is just my personal preference, but that's probably just down to me slightly biased to more mainstream/safe music.

I'm sorry but to be fair, 2.0 eras quality-wise were 98% perfect and sublime. Of course, 3.0 and even 4.0 have had their own brilliant moments but there isn't any consistency so far in their material, work and attitude (Jonjo, even you told about awful in your opinion 'Girls' and 'No Can Do'), I'm not even saying anything about credibility which is worth a special essay. After Mutya's departure all went downhill, and I don't have anything against Amelle or Jade, especially Jade, she's brilliant even she's not really a Sugababe by her style.

I fully respect 1.0 also, they are the roots even their first album doesn't impress me that much as 2.0 albums or C&S but the Sugababes in my heart will always be Keisha, Mutya and Heidi.

I'm not really a wimp and whining anti-4.0 loon and moreso I'm won't behave like some people here who is going to rant about the Sugababes 4.0 practically everywhere he is able to speak about them but it really hurts me how my favourite and maybe even legendary group has turned into the average one with the standard material. But I still support the ladies with their attempts to make the next album.

I need new music :( Hoping we get a single by the years end with the second single and the album next year.

The next single is making it or breaking it for me. I really hope it's a good one because I don't want to give up on this (once so) great band.

I just pray it's not generic.

And I hope they've dropped their "slutty" image and are back to the classy girls we used to know :D

The way i see it is that a new single will either make them or brake them

At the same time. Isn't it amazing that we're reading '8th album news', from a GIRLBAND. That happens like... NEVER. Even though they have many (too many) line-up changes they still managed to pull through, and I hope they can do it this time as well.
I think(I guess) They're taking a big break now (like before TIMW) then will work solidly on the new album for the next couple of months for a late release this year or next then solid promotion. I think all the performances they've been doing are probably paying for it.
I hope they spend a lot of time in the studio with this album, but I hope we don't get anything until late this year or early next year.

I just want a single at the end of this year to tide me over, then I'd like another single in July 2011, preferably released 4th July (my birthday) and then a third single and album September/October time, then a 4th single early December. I don't ask for much

The problem is their recent songs just havent been upto the standard of some of their earlier classic hits and I think the change in line up has diluted their appeal and popularity

That's very true. After they booted Keisha out that obviously lost a lot of their fans, and I think because they still released Sweet 7 with Jade's vocals made some fans unhappy. But hopefully they can gain some more fans back with this album.

With the right hits they should be able to gain new fans. But they really need classics like Round Round, Hole in the Head and Push the Button or About You Now again. The last 2 lead singles weren't as memorable.

Omg what the hell happened??

Beige looks the best out of the 3 and that's saying something. Jade looks like a Bangkok ladyboy and Amelle looks HUGE!

Heidi's always been the prettiest one.

Amelle looks dire as usual in the photo.

I've noticed in quite a few recent pictures that Amelle's been getting quite a big girl, if you get what I'm saying.

I swear her weight goes up and down like a blooming yo-yo.

Glad Heidi's got her hair a bit longer again. And Jade's make-up is foul, although I like the dress.

Roll on album 8!!!!
