April 28, 201015 yr Looks like they really might not be playlisting Christina Aguilera and Alexandra Burke then. :o I guess their playlist is too full from Paolo Nutini re-releases and the fifth single from Biffy Clyro to playlist actual potential hits.
April 28, 201015 yr Rubbish, total rubbish. Exactly what I thought  its gone so $h!t this playlist
April 28, 201015 yr I hate this playlist so much, because it makes such an impact on if you do well in the charts, and they're leaving out loads of good new pop nowadays. :(
April 28, 201015 yr Love that Stornoway song :o Never thought it would make it into Radio 1 playlist, especially this late!
April 28, 201015 yr Not much going on this week then eh? Good to see B.o.B moving up to A-List, and Alicia and Nas to B-List. Good to see BEP still getting support. Why are they playlisting Gettin' Over You after the ignoreage of Memories? Frsiky is another #1 for Tinie I think, very summery song and very similar to Pass Out so it has the same appeal. The new Vampire Weekend song is pretty good, but it's nearer Horchata than Cousins or Giving Up The Gun in terms of quality. LOL @ P Money getting playlisted, that takes British rap too far, it's SO awful, yet I still love it because the repetition makes me laugh. It's just funny for some reason. Kick Starts is amazing - hope it goes 5 places further than Won't Go Quietly did. Although according to R1's website for me P Money and Example aren't on there?
April 28, 201015 yr Seriously dire this week. If it's not urban or indie they don't seem to care at the moment :(
April 28, 201015 yr Author Why are they playlisting Gettin' Over You after the ignoreage of Memories? Its typical Radio 1. They realised they messed up by not playlisting Memories and so they're trying to compensate by supporting the following single.
April 28, 201015 yr No Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alexandra Burke, Cascada or Christina, yet two re-releases from last year are on the A-list?
April 28, 201015 yr They kick off top ten artists Scouting for Girls and Plan B yet insist on keeping Florence and the Machine on the A-list?
April 28, 201015 yr Author Seriously dire this week. If it's not urban or indie they don't seem to care at the moment :( Yeah, they're so two-note these days.
April 28, 201015 yr How can Paolo, 3OH!3 and Florence still be playlisted? Truly awful playlist at the moment and it gets worse weekly.
April 28, 201015 yr No Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alexandra Burke, Cascada or Christina, yet two re-releases from last year are on the A-list? Exactly - makes no sense.
April 28, 201015 yr I don't love any of the songs they've got rid of, so that's good :) Not too keen on the BEP song, but I did quite like the Tinie Tempah song on first listen :o Seems like it's now too late for Alexandra Burke to be added :( And they've not added "Need You Now" either - glad it's another song doing well without their support
April 28, 201015 yr Its typical Radio 1. They realised they messed up by not playlisting Memories and so they're trying to compensate by supporting the following single. It's probably just because of the BEP connection now I think about it. Either that, what you said, or they have something against Kid Cudi. No Owl City either. Surely after the success of Fireflies they'd want to put the follow up single on the playlist? Umbrella Beach is on the B-List... Edited April 28, 201015 yr by Braysayer
April 28, 201015 yr The people who decide Radio 1's playlist switch over every few months or so dont they? Which makes sense I suppose as to why recently they seem to making rather odd choices (to be polite) - when a few months back things seemed to be going fairly well for pop music on Radio 1. The Sophie & Cascada snubs are justified imo. Cascada have bombed recently and well Sophie.....the less said the better really, as good as Bittersweet is she hasnt been comercially viable since about 2002. Its the Christina and Alexandra snubs which are perhaps a bit odd. Christina's a major artist and Alex's album sold in good amounts, as have both singles. Always next week.
April 28, 201015 yr Author I doubt its got anything to do with Kid Cudi, they loved "Day N Nite". Its more to do with "One Love" flopping, and since dance artists don't have the same VIP treatment as some other bands, if you flop your next single won't get support. Luckily "Memories" did well without them so they're supporting him again.
April 28, 201015 yr It's probably just because of the BEP connection now I think about it. Either that, what you said, or they have something against Kid Cudi. Umbrella Beach is on the B-List... I think it's more to do with the fact that One Love flopped (cause of Estelle :heehee:) and therefore they didn't want to support the next single incase it flopped.
