Posted May 1, 201015 yr There was a thread for this, but I couldn't find, so I made a new one. What songs do you think will get number 1 from the release schedule? I think: 3rd May Pendulum – Watercolour (maybe, but most probably Roll Deep again) 10th May Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina – Stereo Love 17th May B.o.B. feat Bruno Mars – Nothing On You 24th May Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart Dizzee Rascal – Dizzee Disco (or could be NOY for 2nd week) 31st May Tinchy Stryder – Game Over (not heard, but a new Tinchy single is obviously a chart hit) 7th June Tinie Tempah – Frisky 14th June Not sure 21st June Scissor Sisters – Fire With Fire (again, not heard, but I can still see it being a threat t whoever tops 20th june chart) 28th June Kylie Minogue – All The Lovers Lady Gaga – Alejandro Professor Green feat Lily Allen – Just Be Good To Green (this wil be a tough week for sure)
May 1, 201015 yr Possible contenders would be Dizzee, Tinchy Stryder & Scissor Sisters. I'd be surprised if Lady Gaga's new one goes top 10, and I don't know about Kylie - maybe Top 5/3?
May 1, 201015 yr Pendulum – Watercolour I don't see this as a UK no. 1 contender. That said, I also wrote off Jason Derulo, Tinie Tempah and Scouting For Girls for topping the UK charts. Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina – Stereo Love Has been massive all over Europe since last Autumn. Even now it's only just starting to become successful in countries like Norway. If a remix version is already charting on iTunes, then the signs are looking great for 'Stereo Love' to be a huge hit. Who knows, this might sneak one week at no. 1? :D B.o.B. feat Bruno Mars – Nothing On You Going off my 2010 track record, I've been quite off predicting the next big hit. However, I'm still going to stick my neck out and say this will storm to no. 1 the week it's released. Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart Wishful thinking that this got to no. 1 but I predict top 15 tops for this. :( Dizzee Rascal – Dizzee Disco I'm slightly undecided on this. It didn't grab my attention in the same way 'Dance Wiv Me' and 'Bonkers' did. I reckon this will be stall at no. 2 behind 'Nothin On You'. Tinchy Stryder – Game Over Yet to hear so can't really comment. That said, I honestly didn't think 'Number 1' was going to top the UK charts, yet alone stay there for three weeks. Can't say I'm the biggest Tinchy fan so I'll reserve judgement. Tinie Tempah – Frisky Could Tinie define 2010? 'Pass Out' took my completely by surprise. First time I saw the video on The Box I changed the channel after about a minute thinking "what crap" so to see it no. 1 was a bit of a " :o " moment. Scissor Sisters – Fire With Fire Someone posted a clip of this being performed live but obviously the sound quality wasn't great as it was recorded on a mobile phone. From what I did hear, this does sound promising. Could be no. 1 - an eye catching music video will help too. Kylie Minogue – All The Lovers If Kylie goes back to her roots and gives the UK another 'CGYOOMH' moment, this could be a UK no. 1 hit. If Kylie tries too hard to be cool and gives us '2 Hearts' part II then goodbye no. 1!!! Kylie's got the loyal fanbase that can get her to no. 1 and with the right choice of comeback single I don't see why not. Lady Gaga – Alejandro Is the sound of Ace Of Base still popular? :w00t: Already peaked at no. 2 in Australia, one thing that Lady GaGa can guarantee is that as soon as the music video goes into circulation, this track will shoot up iTunes. Can't rule out no. 1 just yet - look at 'Telephone' with its 12-01 climb. Professor Green feat Lily Allen – Just Be Good To Green Upon seeing the title, I'm guessing this is going to be a cover of 'Dub Be Good To Me' by Beats International? Hopefully I'm wrong and this will be an original track. Edited May 1, 201015 yr by Hitstastic
May 1, 201015 yr Professor Green feat Lily Allen – Just Be Good To Green Upon seeing the title, I'm guessing this is going to be a cover of 'Dub Be Good To Me' by Beats International? Hopefully I'm wrong and this will be an original track. Wouldn't surprise me seems as he's already destroyed INXS. I'd LOVE Pendulum to be #1 but I doubt it will happen. I'm certain B.O.B will hang on for a week or two though before handing over to Tinie Tempah/Scissor Sisters/possibly Kylie.
May 1, 201015 yr Heres my predictions, although doubtless Ill be hugely wrong: 26th April: Roll Deep- Good Times  3rd May: Roll Deep- Good Times/ Pendulum- Watercolour- that song is certainly there most mainstream sounding yet and sounds like a hit- but will they be mainstream enough to get number 1 (mind you, MCR managed it) 10th May: Edward Maya/Vika Jigulina- Stereo Love- a guaranteed smash hit 17th May: B.o.B/Bruno Mars- Nothing On You- song that are number 1 in America are usually very big here too 24th May: Dizzee Rascal- Dirtee Disco- Anything with his name can sell, and this track sounds like a big hit 31st May: probably same as last week, but could be Tinchy Stryder- Game Over 7th June: Two most likely are Tinie Tempah- Frisky or Robyn- Dancing On my Own- the Tinie Tempah one is rubbish, but he is big atm and Robyns comeback could mean a big hit for her 14th June- Most likely whoever was number 1 the week before again 21st June- Scissor Sisters- Fire With Fire most likely, they have had a long absence, so just their name could get sale 28th June- a clash between Kylie Minogue- All The Lovers (her comeback likely to generate huge sales) and Professor Green/Lily Allen- Just be Good To Green- sounds like a hit collaboration to me, or Lady Gaga- Alejandro- but this is the least likely Edited May 1, 201015 yr by chart wizard
May 1, 201015 yr Professor Green feat Lily Allen – Just Be Good To Green Upon seeing the title, I'm guessing this is going to be a cover of 'Dub Be Good To Me' by Beats International? Hopefully I'm wrong and this will be an original track. You are spot on, it is a cover, the original was recorded first by SOS Band, before Beats International covered it, so this is a cover of a cover of a original if you catch my drift. :P
May 1, 201015 yr My attempt at being a pop nostradamus: 26th April: Roll Deep - Good Times 3rd May: Roll Deep - Good Times 10th May: ??? but I do think Edward Maya/Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love - is a guaranteed smash top 3 hit 17th May: B.o.B/Bruno Mars - Nothing On You 24th May: Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Disco 31st May: Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen (the Internet Facebook campaign with over 400K supporters to get this anti-establishment anthem to #1 in time for the Queen's birthday) 7th June: Various Artists (Robbie Williams, Kasabian, Russell Brand - already reported having recorded their bits according with producer/songwriter Iain Broudie; Rumoured others - Lily Allen, Noel Gallagher, Plan B, Dizzee Rascal, Take That, James Corden, Matt Lucas & David Williams) for England - Three Lions 2010 14th June - Various Artists - Three Lions 21st June - Various Artists - Three Lions 28th June - Either Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers (depending on quality of song/video) and Professor Green/Lily Allen - Just Be Good To Green (sounds awful on paper, so I hope not), or Lady GaGa - Alejandro (if the video is OMG amazing).
May 1, 201015 yr Three Lions. I'll enjoy the football songs annoying the majority of BuzzJack for a few weeks come June. ^_^
May 1, 201015 yr You are spot on, it is a cover, the original was recorded first by SOS Band, before Beats International covered it, so this is a cover of a cover of a original if you catch my drift. :P Except it's not a cover at all. It's a sample. Learn the difference peeps :(
May 1, 201015 yr It'll be dreadful either way. I've already heard it and I can confirm everyone is going to think it's dreadful. I like it though, but having said that I liked INYT.
May 1, 201015 yr Oh yes, Three Lions! that must be an assured number 1, we'll at least get one world-cup related number 1 this year
May 1, 201015 yr 3rd May- Pendulum – Watercolour 10th May- Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina – Stereo Love 17th May- B.o.B. feat Bruno Mars – Nothing On You 24th May- Dizzee Rascal – Dizzee Disco 31st May- Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Disco 7th June- Tinie Tempah – Frisky 14th June- Tinie Tempah – Frisky 21st June- Scissor Sisters – Fire With Fire 28th June- Lady Gaga – Alejandro
May 1, 201015 yr 31st May: Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen (the Internet Facebook campaign with over 400K supporters to get this anti-establishment anthem to #1 in time for the Queen's birthday) LOL! I know what I'm downloading May 31st! Three Lions. I'll enjoy the football songs annoying the majority of BuzzJack for a few weeks come June. ^_^ I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't feature James Corden. :puke2:
May 1, 201015 yr Except it's not a cover at all. It's a sample. Learn the difference peeps :( Yes, it's a sample, so what? The backing track is exactly the same as in the original. So why not listening the INXS anthem instead of "random chav rapping" (cant remember who said it here) put on the instrumental of the classic song?
May 2, 201015 yr I dunno. But I predict... Sunday 20th June 2010: Leona Lewis 'Outta My Head' :kink: Nah. In all seriousness though. I think people could be over estimating 'Stereo Love'. Fake versions have been Top 40 before and then the tracks have stalled outside the Top 10. Having said that though, there were two versions quite high... I hope it doesn't get to number 1 though. Same goes for Dizzee. I really hope there is some serious underdog to stop it :(
May 2, 201015 yr The number ones this year are going to be pretty dire aren't they?! :( Thank god for Lady GaGa/Beyonce and Roll Deep.
May 2, 201015 yr 28th June- Lady Gaga – Alejandro As the 73rd single from her album :P , up against brand new Kylie? Edited May 2, 201015 yr by vidcapper
May 2, 201015 yr As the 73rd single from her album :P , up against brand new Kylie? She didn't get #1 with anything from her last album so "All The Lovers" could stall at #2/3/4. "Alejandro", with the right video (which it will have given that it said 'to be continued' at the end of "Telephone") could trounce it. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking?
