I follow the full T200's for both singles & albums, and not just because I need to for my YTD sales lists. :)

Singles and albums are of equal importance to me. I don't store anything though, long stopped doing that, there should be an option for 'nothing' on that part of the poll. Just use this website;

http://www.chartstats.com/

Every UK top 75 album/single chart in full that's ever existed is on here.

both UK singles & albums.

chartstats website is invaluable to for archives

That did occur to me, but I thought been a chart watcher, members tend to keep a copy for their own pesonal use, so I overlooked it. :P

I'm interested in the top-75 chart mainly but sometimes I need figures outside the top-100 and even the top-200 :heehee: to check overall sales.

As for housing, I collect the top-20 only database because I can also watch the top-75 in the Internet while the top-20 is what remembered by me, top-20 is a hit.

Singles chart only for me - I wouldn't even be able to tell you what's No. 1 in the Album Chart although I did hear yesterday.

Mainly interested in the Top 40 (was Top 50 before they started publishing a Top 75 which shows you how old I am!), although do have a little interest down to 75, no interest at all below that.

Follow both charts although mainly the singles chart - And tbh i am just as interested in whats charting between 76-100 on the singles chart as i am in the higher positions - Wish a Top 200 was published!

I assume you mean 'I wish one was published *free*' :P

Album charts tend to be where the real talent actually is, although sometimes you get the same soulless pop/R&B drivel invading them as well. Thankfully that's a much rarer occurance than it is in the Top 40 singles.

And LOL at anyone who says nothing outside of the Top 40 interests them. How can you possibly call yourself a music fan? The charts are not dictated on the whole by popular taste, but rather by what the record companies decide they are going to push! All you're doing is playing right into their greedy, corporate hands if you don't broaden your mind to listen to stuff outside of the charts.

Maybe some people are only interested in mainstream pop acts? I'm definitely not one of them but seriously, who cares? So I LOL at you for belittling those people, it's just lame.

Anyway, I don't really follow the UK charts as a lot of the music doesn't really interest me. I do appreciate some acts in the UK, but I grew up on U.S. urban music, so I mainly follow the charts of my home country. The UK singles chart can be quite interesting, with the races to #1 and all (as it's based on sales alone).

Mainly the singles chart and the full Top 200 if I can get hold of them. But at least the Top 100 anyway as that is the official chart right now.

I have the complete collection of all the UK singles charts (with the odd exception) and even have the EP charts.

I've always gone for the complete official chart. I don't see the point of going half measures. Top 40 is just the stupid Beeb idea.

Here's the official chart milestones:

14 Nov 1952 - First ever singles chart which was only Top 12

01 Oct 1954 - Increased to Top 20 (BBC just used Top 10)

13 Apr 1956 - Increased to Top 30 (BBC just used Top 20)

10 Mar 1960 - Increased to Top 50 (BBC started their own silly chart at this time) - First chart published in Record Retailer (Music Week) and from 1962 in the new music magazine Record Mirror

13 Feb 1969 - Still Top 50 (BBC starts to use the official chart but only uses Top 30)

06 May 1978 - Increased to Top 75 (BBC just used Top 40)

08 Jan 1983 - Increased to Top 100 (BBC still just used Top 40)

04 May 1991 - Back to Top 75 (BBC still just used Top 40) - due to decline in sales of singles

17 Apr 2005 - Increased back to Top 100 (BBC still just use Top 40) - due to amalgamation of downloads & physical

It dosn't mean you're old just because you view chart archives. It just shows your interest in them
