The clips are on UK iTunes by the way people. I'm liking them a LOT. Best one for me currently is Last Friday Night. It sounds like a bloody huge pop record.

HDD: Katy Perry's new album to surpass Eminem’s Recovery?

I.B. BAD CHECKS OUT POP’S GOLDEN GIRL

As It Turns Out, Katy Perry Is Far More Than Just a Pretty Face

Based on early prognostications from industry sources, pre-order sales of Katy's new album "Teenage Dream" are huge!

Here's what most famous sales tracking site Hits Daily Double has to say:

Much has been written, here and elsewhere, about the brain trust surrounding Katy Perry, including EMI executives Greg Thompson and Angelica Cob Baehler; the management team of Martin Kirkup, Steve Jensen and Bradford Cobb; recently departed A&R man Chris Anokute; and writer/producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin. What hasn’t been widely discussed is that Perry is a fiercely intelligent young artist who is firmly in control of every aspect of her career, from her music—in which she plays a primary songwriting role, decides who she collaborates with and who produces—to her carefully calibrated imaging. In terms of doing things her own way, it’s hard to imagine any other pop diva going out on the Warped Tour, as Perry did in 2008. Thus far, her decision-making has been virtually flawless, resulting in wall-to-wall media visibility and massive anticipation for Teenage Dream, streeting Aug. 24 on Capitol/EMI. Meanwhile, the just-released title track poised to follow “California Gurls” (which hit 3m this week) to the top of the sales and airplay charts.Prognosticators are divided on whether Perry’s album will surpass Eminem’s Recovery, which bowed at 754k, to become the year’s biggest debut. Doubters feel the release date is problematic in the sense that it falls at a time when Americans are traditionally preoccupied with end-of-summer and back-to-school activities, with mass entertainment far down their priority lists…Not surprisingly, Perry’s current contract is being renegotiated, with respected attorney Jay Cooper in the process of doing a mega-deal for her…

PS - Where can I find the album clips?

Realistically I don't think it has any chance but it might get 350k or so which would be massive in itself, especially for Summer.
Not Like The Movies is amazing. I think Katy is gonna bring an AMAZING album to be honest, and I think it'll do amazingly well. I'm shocked though, I always thought she was gonna be a one era artist, but maybe not!
out of the clips, the highlights are 'last frriday night' and 'peacock'. also love 'not like the movies', reminds me a little bit of pink's 'glitter in the air'.
I think 1st week sales of ~500k for her sophomore album seems possible, and the fact that they waited to release the album off the 2nd single release makes more sense than OOTB's release barely a month after IKAG was out. They are building the hype much better this time around.

500k in the first week ? You serious!

Also where is everyone getting these clips from or has itunes removed them  ?

In the US of course. Her second single is shaping up to be as big as CG and the momentum surrounding her seems to be rolling. I think 500k is on the very high end (with excellent promo) though and I wouldn't be surprised if it's 350-400k. Unfortunately for OOTB, it was released in June 2008 in the US, when it seemed she could be a one-hit wonder and was relatively new. 1st week sales were ~90-100k, but the album consistently sold well enough to reach near 1.5 million copies in total.

I  NLTM!!!! With that, ET, TD and of course CG, the album could be the best of 2010!!!

tbh, I'm so proud of myself - resisting the urge to listen to 30 second clips or Not Like The Movies. It's taking everything in my willpower to do it given how obsessed I am with the girl - but I'm doing it.

:drama:

Love 'Teenage Dream'.

More instant for me than 'California Gurls' ;o.

I think this could be my favourite song from Miss Perry. :D
