Yeah, to be honest the sales for 'Chasing Lights' were quite poor considering the amount of promotion they got. Four top ten singles (three of which went Silver and one of those being a Comic Relief single) and just over 300K sales isn't that good. I think overall they only spent around 7 weeks in the top 40 and just hung around the top 100 for the whole 48 weeks.

I know so many acts who would kill, to have the sales they had with their debut.
Wonder if we'll get something video/single related info in the mailer tomorrow? Hope so!

300k is certainly nothing to be ashamed of for a group who were just starting out really, so I dont think there should be any feeling of ''it could have done so much better'' about that era.

Wordshaker is the one we should be somewhat dissapointed at being left at just 75k

Those sales we're not poor at all. Especially for a band just starting out.

Look at Girls Aloud, with their debut album 'Sound of The Underground'. The first edition flopped, and then the seccond edition got it to #2 and it sold what.. over 300k? And that was with a huge #1 single (Sound of The Underground), two #2 singles (No Good Advice, Jump), and a #3 single (Life Got Cold). And all of that was launched off the back of a reality tv program - The Saturdays have done VERY well indeed to have over 300k on their debut album.

I agree.

However, being technical, SOTU got to #2 in the first week of the first edition.

Just been confirmed by KevKev at The Saturdays forum (same person who confirmed details of the new single) has anounced the single is being released 9th August 2010 instead.

OK guys the expected release date has changed to 9th August, so looks like a bit longer to wait....

There are also some pics of the shoot floating around according to The Saturdays Official forum as well.

LOL it's only 2 weeks! I'd rather they pushed it back 2 weeks rather than 2 months!
I suspect the release date will probably change again. It's still only May and if the video has already been shot then it's just a matter of editing and releasing the video and sending the song to radio channels and organising some promo (but that won't be needed for ages anyway). Seems a bit far away considering the video's been shot, though. I hope it doesn't leak too early and suffer from illegal downloading!

Another new picture ^ ^_^

Jayne answered me on Twitter and said news in this weeks mailer. More than likely just the title and release date but at least it'll be official :kink:

Beach pic is fierce

Cannot believe NOTW titled it as "Desperate for a hit, The Saturdays strip"

They think that's a strip?!?! Yes their showing their legs, big deal. Have they never been to a beach where most of the people there are just in bra and nickers? Obviously not!
