Cher confirms new album 2010 & tour 2011

April 23rd, 2010

Cher confirmed she is in the final stages of working on a rock album.

Her rep confirms that the new album will be released later this year and will include two versions of the album. The standard version has 14 songs while the Deluxe Edition will include 19. Her rep says: “This is going to be by far the most successful album Cher has recorded in her 45 year career.”

When interviewed by Vegas Weekly, the 63-year-old icon confirmed that there will be a new tour after her residency at Caesars Palace expires. “You know, I never thought I would ever consider touring again but I miss it. I really do.”

She is set to release her new single “Already Been There” at the World Music Awards in 2011.

In the meantime, Cher will combine her acting and singing skills in the upcoming film Burlesque, a contemporary musical in which she’ll star alongside Christina Aguilera.

I highly doubt that this will be her most successful album of all time, but I am strangely curious to see what she has to offer. More overblown 80s rock please!
I thought she retired? Popstars seriously don't understand that word, they obviously have never heard of 'hiatus' - but it might be nice to have a classic legend back in the charts
 I don't think it will be her most successful because I think she's irrelevant now but I'm still buying the album. :D

She has had a hiatus, wasn't her last album 2002 or so?

Interesting though...

Im glad she is coming back with a new album, Cher has done some great album in her day but Love Hurts is her best for me, love that album and save up all your tears was a great song that should have done so much better than a minor top 40 hit.
  Best news iv heard in ages - Her 'Farewell' concert was amazing - So pleased that i will hopefully get the chance to see her again  Looking forward to new material too
Should be interesting to see how a veteran compares to the new artists out there. Might make a bit of a contrast to the material that is currently around.
I love Cher, hope she comes to the UK with the tour  I think it's going to be difficult for her to have big chart success again though, even Madonna finds it hard these days.
