I like 5 songs in the Top 40....am i that out of touch?

No, the chart is shocking at the moment.

I don't think the top 10 has ever been so bad.

Wow at Eminem! :o

like him or not, that just goes to show that a big name like his doesnt need any kind of publicity or video to sell- they can just rely on their name

I cant see Dizzee lasting that long, and theres nothing notable out next week- so I can see him being number 1, at least until Tinie Tempah comes along

Not a lot, heres the few:

David Guetta & Chris Willis feat Fergie & LMFAO - Gettin' Over You

Shakira feat Freshlyground - Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)

David Gray – A Moment

Tinchy Stryder – Game Over (doubt this will actually be released)

I really expect nothing new in the chart except David Guetta and Glee's Bad Romance which I can see making top 5 and Poker Face peaking at something like #12.

I wonder if Shakira could pull out a shock hit as the world cup gets closer, it's a real grower :o Maybe a bit too 'worldy' for the UK top 40 though, but then K'Naan's doing well...

There could, and it's a big could, be some Eurovision entries charting next week if the winner catches on enough (or becomes available if it's Germany/Azerbaijan )

I agree something is really off about the Top 10,things are so bad I am starting to miss the days of Glee takeover.Pendulum will be on Jonathan Ross on Friday not sure what they will be performing but hopefully they may get a boost.
How the hell is K'naan doing so well... his Haiti various artists version of Wavin' Flag is wildly superior

Performing "Watercolour" would guarantee it at least another week in the top 40, giving it a really weird run...

"Witchcraft" could see that going top 40 but to be honest I'd rather they were doing it in a few weeks when it's more useful to its chart run. I'm still hoping that they'll have Paramore on in a few weeks in time for "Careful"'s release, if that peaks below "The Only Exception" it's an absolute travesty -_- bring on "All I Wanted"...

It's still A LOT better than most of the stuff in the top 40 so I'm not complaining :D

Don't worry. This is going to be our rough patch for the year. In the next 2 or 3 weeks, things will get better

I find it slightly ironic that the current US iTunes top 10 (the home of urban) feautes 6 pop songs (one of which is La Roux!) and then four songs that could be considered urban; Usher, Taio Cruz (urban/dance), Eminem (rap) and B.o.B/Hayley Williams (rap/alternative) yet the UK iTunes top 10 has 9 songs that could be considered 'urban' in some way  If Edward Maya gets replaced with another urban song in the top ten it will be a complete washout :o

Bizarre turnaround, I always thought the US charts had very little variety at the top end and the UK charts were far better but wow the tables have turned this year :o

Isn't Tinie Tempah released on Sunday? If he is, he'll probably beat Eminem and Dizzee next week quite easily.

Not next week, the week after - on June 6th

Yeah, and that also makes two UK songs in the top 10 in the USA!

Also, this is a bit weird, but iTunes says that Break Your Heart is Pop/Rock! I'd say Break Your Heart is Pop/R&B/Hip Hop personally. Whoever put that it's Rock on iTunes must be a bit clueless. :D

Indeed, they almost have as many British acts in the top 10 as we do  Nice to see some former UK #1's crossing over to the US these days rather than it always being the other way round...

Before I read this thread, there hasn't been any random American Idol spoilers posted regarding who's won, right?
I must say i never really got the "new 2007 Dizzee" pandering to the commerical side with Dance Wiv Me & Bonkers, but could appreciate why it sold so much, but this Dirtee Disco is an absolute abysmal piece of uninspired insipid $h!t.

I don't think Dirtee Disco is abysmal, but I don't think it's as good as Bonkers, You Got the Dirtee Love and Dance Wiv Me, which were all amazing songs.

Also has anybody else been hearing Holiday a lot on the radio? I think I've heard holiday about 5 times this week, so far, which is a lot, considering I've barely heard it at all this year, and I've yet to hear Dirtee Disco this week. Infact, one of the presenters said that it's her favourite song from 2009! :o

That lead Dizzee has is disgusting! This time last year, I never thought I'd say this, but please knock him off M&M. :(
