I never know what to answer to this question as I'm always changing my mind :(

I am a big kid at heart and some of my favourite films ever include 'Finding Nemo', 'Wall E', 'Up', 'Toy Story' (1 & 2), 'Monsters Inc', 'Lion King', etc... All amazing. (Especially the first two, which I think are in my Top 5 films ever). But I do love 'Walk The Line', 'Se7en', 'Little Miss Sunshine', 'Cloverfield' the 'Saw' & 'Final Destination' franchises. I really can't just pin point one favourite film :(

dancer in the dark, the orphanage and the notebook are definitely my top 3. though dancer in the dark is way ahead of the others!

I echo this. It's extremely hard to pinpoint one single film, and there are different genres of film that appeal to me at different times.

In general I love films that have a sense of wonder about them: or explore people, psychologically and as members of society; life and issues and themes that effect us (Religion, sex, death, love, friendship etc.). Films that deal with emotion. I guess I am a romantic at heart.

If I had to make a list with trailers for people who are interested;

American Beauty

Towelhead

Romeo + Juliet

Sunshine

Changeling

Batman Begins

The Dark Knight

The Magdalene Sisters

Doubt

Juno

There Will Be Blood

Drop Dead Gorgeous

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

I Love You, Phillip Morris

Martyrs

There are more that I can't think of right now. Plus the amount of children films that I can list would be endless, some of my favourite films I simply love because they are part of my childhood, and some children films can deal with a lot of interesting themes, but are snubbed because of who they are geared to. There are also films that I really enjoy or love, but the only films that I would put on my list of all time favourite are ones that have a profound effect on me.

hey thanks for those trailers daniel drop dead gorgeous looks wicked! and so does martyrs..

No problem ^_^ Drop Dead Gorgeous is such an underrated gem of a movie. The trailer doesn't do it nearly enough justice. Denise Richards and Kirstie Alley both have incredible comedic timing, it's such a shame they both seem to have faded, but Kirsten Dunst is equally great as the innocent all-American girl, who has an underlying ruthlessness sparked by ambition. It also shows how great Brittany Murphy was at comedy and it's Amy Adam's first movie. Plus, the film has Allison Janney, who I absolutely adore and she is, as always, fantastic. Everything about this movie is great, especially the script which is brutally honest in its portrayal of a small town in midwest America. The soundtrack is just the icing on the cake. The whole movie is on youtube if you want to watch it.

Here's Part 1

Martyrs is another gem, and proves just how good European horror is of late, and it's one of the few horror films that I found genuinely disturbing and thought provoking.

If you do end up watching either movie, let me know what you think.

Fish Tank, Mysterious Skin, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Finding Nemo, Mean Girls, Shortbus, Millions, Cabin Fever and Mean Creak are probably my favourite films, but i dunno in what order though. I can't compare even the most similar ones, so it'd be difficult to 'rank' them. Mysterious Skin definately affected me the most though:

iirc it's 'only' a 15 but it made me far, far more uncomfortable/scared than any horror. Incredibly difficult to watch.

Clerks

Mallrats

Chasing Amy

Dogma

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Clerks 2

The Dark Knight

Freddy Got Fingered

Napolean Dynamite

Cloverfield

American Pie

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Toy Story

Toy Story 2
