I actually fell asleep through this borefest.

1-0 to Slovenia thanks to another awful goalkeeping error.

SAME!

Saw the replay of the goal when the comentator sceamed lol

Serbia - Ghana was much more exciting though...still one score only and from penalty.

congrats to Ghana and Slovenia :cheer:

Thank goodness England are supposed to top the group then, yeah? Could you IMAGINE the media if we lost to Germany.

Still, I suppose it would be a pretty direct bucket onto the fires of World Cup mania if we met in the second round and inevitably got knocked out...

Only people in Europe think Spain.

Brazil are the favourites.

Yes and my tip to win it.

On that first half performance = England have GOT to WIN their group.

Otherwise Germany will knock us out inside 90 minutes in the 2nd round (nevermind on the inevitable penalty shoot out).

Slovenia won today and are in our group. If we come SECOND we most likely face Germany next. Still think we'll win the group though but you can bet Slovenia will go all out to beat us.

What a RIDICULOUS decision that red card was.... dreadful refereeing.

Agreed. The first embarrassing referee decision of the Tournament.

All the more reason for England to concentrate on winning the group.

Why exactly? Why if we want to win the trophy should we be afraid to face Germany? We should be able to beat any team if we are good enough to win it. Who's to say Serbia or Ghana couldn't beat us?

In order to win a tournament you will come up against the best teams at some point. But there's nothing wrong with trying to minimise the number of times that happens. Germany got to the final eight years ago without meeting any of the top teams. I'd be perfectly happy to see England doing the same.

With Miroslav Klose scoring for Germany tonight, his 11th world cup finals goal, do you think he could become the all time top scorer?

Here is the current list of all time top scorers:

15 Ronaldo ( Brazil)

14 G Muller ( W Germany)

13 J Fontaine ( France)

12 Pele ( Brazil)

11 J Klinsman (Germany)

11 S Kocsis (Hungary)

11 M Klose ( Germany) - only current player in 2010

10 G Batistuta (Argentina)

10 T Cubillas ( Peru)

10 G Lato (Poland)

10 G Lineker (England)

10 H Rahn (Germany)

We all know what the two most annoying things are about the world cup, so much so I don't have to say anything before I put this video in that explains how we could get rid of them:

He's 32 so he's probably going to have to do it in this tournament.

Typical useless ITV commentary tonight suggesting that Gerd Muller would have been Klose's idol. Muller last played for Germany in 1974. Klose was born in Poland in 1978 and moved to Germany in 1985.

I'd have a right good laugh if Slovenia and the US squad made it through to the next round......with some of the results so far, those teams that are expected to do well, (i.e. England, France) they need to light a fire under their boots, play better, well-rounded matches, and score goals.....I know goal scoring can be a tough thing, especially in a tournament as this, but, it needs to be done....okay, I'll stop preaching to the choir now....

I'm not even a massive England fan, but 1-1 against the USA is GOOD. England will win both of their final two groups and win the group, easily.

Also Germany WTF  They just went and broke the unwritten rule of the World Cup 2010 that you can't score more than one goal per team!!!

I don't see why people are getting so hyped up over one result. In 2006 Italy and France opened with draws agains much weaker opposition (Switzerland and USA), France then drew with South Korea before barely beating Togo to go through to the next round. Argentina played some fantastic stuff including a 6-0 in their second game and everyone was proclaiming they were the greatest team in the competition. Remind me, how did those three end up doing?

I think we should be beating the USA to be honest. They're far from great and didn't offer much. They could only score because of a massive error from our keeper and their keeper was named Man of the Match. I was disappointed that we didn't win.

Korea scored twice yesterday?
