England to win but very unconvincingly. 2-1 with at least one dodgy penalty :)

I'm that rare thing though, a Scot who supports England. But then I am half and half really!

For the first time in my life, I'm rooting for the Americans to win (hopes for a repeat of the Boston Tea Party)...... :P

Me too Scott. COME ON USA. :cheer:

Yeah the USA aren't a bad team but they start with Jonathan Spector, Jay DeMerit and Josy Altidore? Come on, anything less than an England win should be a disappointment!
In my prediction at work I have gone for 3-1 to England, just to show that not all Scots think England will lose. I expect them to win all 3 group games easily.
I think England will rely on Crouch to rescue them for a 2-1 victory but it certainly won't be pretty. The USA always get lampooned for being naff but look down their squad and there's some really good players there. To be fair though I'd fear Algeria more

I completely fail to see why a few people think it will be a walk in the park for England.

The USA are ranked 14th in FIFA's World rankings just 6 places behind England.

Plus they've played the two tournament favourites in the past year and on neither occasion did they disgrace themselves:

I really don't know who to support! I'd like both teams to progress ideally, but I think England have this one. Looking forward to tonight, because socially it'll be a great event too.

Official White House release:

Finally, the President [barack Obama] and the Prime Minister [David Cameron] agreed to disagree on the desired outcome of the 12 June USA-England World Cup soccer match; the President noted that the historical record of previous World Cup matches between the United States and England favors the United States and the President wagered the best lager against the best beer in America on an American win over England."

USA are not a push over theyve beaten Spain and gone 2 goals up against BRAZIL! England might be lucky of they can scrape a draw :(
We've all got hats and England tops on, and stuff, in our house - we proper shouted the house down once we scored. :P
