Very disappointing that Stereophonics didn't go higher than 60 - it was number one in Play's download chart.....?

I guess that just underlines how powerful and critical iTunes is to scoring a hit - Play's % of the download market must be quite small. The power of iTunes is incredible especially now from my iPhone i can access the iTunes store and download any song with 1 click.

The Baddiel & Skinner track of 3 Lions seems to be a pointless re-release, the lyrics do not compliment England's latest participation in the World Cup, Linekar gets a mention in the lyrics, but do you see Linekar playing. Its so dated, it just feels pointless in the chart.

But the lyrics to the 96 version are a nostalgic look back at great players and so are timeless. As well as the crisp salesman, it also references Bobby Moore who was dead when the song was released

The 98 version referenced the (then) current squad and so would have been completely pointless.

if I ever donwload a track, I never ever use iTunes - mainly because of the price (Play is so much cheaper)... and I absolutely HATE the iTunes set up - I won't have it anywhere near my computer, it's the worst of all the media players.

I agree - Its not the best or cheapest but they have such a captive market and people buy into the brand bacuase of iPods/iPhones and iPads - I only use it out of ease because it all syncs straight to my phone - They need some serious competition to break their download molopoly and nobody seems to have come close - Nokia Music was a poor attempt.

Here we go again

All the World Cup Songs

I see 2 of the worst ever are back again - Baddeil & Skinner and also Fat Les

Even the new #1 is crap

The best ones charting right now are:

K'Naan

England/New Order

Shakira (the official song)

Oh sorry, I meant 900.

Someone who's very chart knowledgeable says in the mids thread that Oasis will have the 900th No.1 album though!

I luv the fact that the UK singles chart is becoming faster and faster with each passing week....

more and more it's looking like a late 90's chart when we had 5 or 6 new entries in the top 10 and songs were dropping fast.... Hurray!!!
