And I have Gravitonas now, but you'll have to wait until I'm home (about 6...) Sorry Ghosty :(

*checks watch* :P

It's alright, I assume it's in the zip files so I'll get it then :D . Thanks Pavel for uploading them all ^_^

Sorry, it is. There's not much point uploading it now tbh :(

Don't worry about it :)

What do you guys think about the idea of making threads for the purpose of discussing individual songs in the current contest? It could probably be a good idea for creating discussion and activity in here, as well as learning more about the appeal around them and adding some excitement etc.

I’ve noticed in every contest that there are songs not getting a single comment on how it is perceived by other people/participants. Not even those who award those songs with points even share what they think about the song, and more rarely we’ve been told if it was a genuine discovery for them, just because that person sent it/through the contest.

I’m just thinking out loud, but perhaps making one thread for one song each day or something through those days the contest is taking place. And not in general the most discussed/popular/well know songs, but more unknown songs that are most likely to give most people in here a discovery, or those songs that haven’t been commented on etc - should eligible for discussion in its own thread (making it more structured and all that), where we can discuss our thoughts and opinions on them, as well as telling people if it were a discovery (or not).

There are 49 songs this contest, so one song-thread each day (?) only equals about 10 chosen songs total (a small percentage!). I don’t think that’s enough to influence any voters, but I think it will add something to this contest tbh/tbf.

Or what do you think? :)

For me it feels better when nobody discusses my song (the only times were probably my 2 wins, Shakira, Olafur and especially The Knife) and i finish Top 10 like last time! :o

Agreed really, although it was nice that people were talking about Psycho/Robots In Love pre-contest, Not A Love Song had literally nobody speaking and I was shell shocked, but of course very pleased, when it won just because it was such a huge surprise! People will talk naturally about discoveries they've made in other threads I think, or through their odds/predicta (I do believe that personal taste strongly influences these - there have been times where I've given the advantage to songs that I love assuming naturally 'well if I love it I'm sure everyone else does' Unless of course it's blindingly obvious that it's something that I'm going to be alone in loving for whatever reason.

I like the element of surprise in the final, and if we already know what people think about each song, it makes dark horses easier to predict I think. Plus it could be seen that those 'lucky' songs that get threads made about them are at an advantage, as they're being put into the limelight and people are giving them a more focused listen, or at a severe disadvantage if Headhunted-gate 2.0 starts up and everyone jumps on the bandwagon to start insulting it just because everyone else seems to be doing so - espeically if the spotlight is placed on a really uninspired/awful entry :drama: Most people tend to keep their opinions about the songs to themselves until during the final I think, or else it becomes a bit predictable as you can guage who loves and hates your song and who you might be likely to receive points from, or not, as the case may be.

i feel like threads dedicated to songs would get a lot of blunt hatred

i would be one of those people probably

aka not the best idea

LOL literally just moving into the new house now and the broadband connection is already here and active - took me 2 minutes to set up

Looks like I may have been overreacting when I said I'd be offline for 5 or 6 days - more like 2 hours :heehee:

The majority of the songs are dire. :(

Having seen your personal chart, I think it's good news for me that you think that :kink:

Will you all forgive me? I'm too lazy to do the rest of the recap today. I will do it tomorrow, i swear :D I don't think most needs it at this point anyway.

Listening through now and I do love me some generic solo female rnb

Has Safura's album leaked in full btw? :kink:

Don't quote me, but I think so. No I don't have it. Anyway based on the first 16 songs, this is pretty much your dream contest, no?

I've only heard about three of those so far I think. It all depends on my iTunes and which way that shuffles the songs etc...

Isn't that kinda, y'know, what national threads are for? I sense it would end up much like them in that people would start ignoring them - and it's not like people aren't listening to these tracks anyway

Not really. National threads are for information about the countries and discussion on both different song choices up for contention and/or other related/non-related things that comes in on random occasions etc. Some countries in here doesn't even have or doesn't even use their national thread. A thread dedicated for each song is a bit different as there would only be discussed around that particular song. I don't know, was just a suggestion.. I guess Gooddelta is right though, the element of surprise and suspence for the final is definitely a good thing, and that the songs that does get their own thread is at an advantage/disadvantage or could be ignored etc.. but I was thinking that there are some songs each contest that doesn't get talked about and that doesn't get positive feedback even from those who like it. I mean, what else can you do then creating a thread for the "invisible" songs, to at least try to not make them (the countries) feel left out or something like that? You know it happens :drama:

Almost all of my songs have been talked about only very little so far and I didn't feel left out. I actually like the suspense of only knowing what maybe 4 or 5 people think about the song. :P

I think your great efforts with Recap #1 and the mp3s shall buy you some slack ^_^
