January 2, 201114 yr Author ^^ Dammit, I was just about to post that :P That's a massive increase, but like you said I doubt they'll be a massive sales increase, or an increase at all :( So close to Top 40 though!
January 2, 201114 yr Amazing. :o 20 weeks in the top 100 as well. I'm now hoping this will somehow scrape around 170k! :D
January 2, 201114 yr ^^ Dammit, I was just about to post that :P That's a massive increase, but like you said I doubt they'll be a massive sales increase, or an increase at all :( So close to Top 40 though! I mean the huge jump may be due to a narrow sales margin but I guess we will just have to see. Its nice to see it at a good position though.
January 2, 201114 yr Gutted they didin't re-enter the top 40 though after everyone else did brilliant! I think sales will be good this week.
January 2, 201114 yr This should really push them to release a ballad NOW imo. I don't care what the hell they release now; so long as they do release a third single hahhahaha :D
January 2, 201114 yr Good to see it back in the top 50, leys hope it can stay top 75 for a few weeks more. A new single is needed now to boost the album nicely.
January 2, 201114 yr #2 sold 53,000 so sales for this are likely to be less than the previous weeks; hopefully not :)
January 2, 201114 yr Sales overall will be lower, but considering The Sats jumped up 44 places i'd imagine they sold a bit more than they did the previous week at #87. Maybe 6K, 7K max.
January 2, 201114 yr Ya i think the same, 6 or 7k will be its sales this week as sales will have dropped alot since last week in general.
January 2, 201114 yr Author ^^ Haven do not have Headlines listed to have an increase this week. Listed increases are as follows: Mumford & Sons, JLS, Eliza Doolittle, Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire, Michael Jackson (50% increase). I'm guesing they're referring to the re-entry of the #1's album, not his post-human album. #2 sold 53,000 so sales for this are likely to be less than the previous weeks; hopefully not :) That is absolutely appauling compared to last weeks chart. Take That were #1 last week with a revised number of 350k sales (from the original report of 434k), and for them to slip to #2 with just 53k is a massive drop! If that is the case all round this week, then Headlines may have only done 4k. Edit: OCC have so far revealed the following sales via Twitter: #1 Rihanna 76k #2 Take That 53k #3 Plan B 44k #16 Michael Jackson (#1's Album) "Nearly 20k" #20 JLS (Outta This World) "Nearly 20k" #23 JLS (JLS) 16k #26 Cheryl Cole 13.5k Edited January 2, 201114 yr by 2ndAdventure
January 2, 201114 yr Author All these sales alterations is doing my head in! BuzzJack now claim that MusicWeek have supplied them with in-accurate album sales increases as they still have not corrected last weeks problem where the chart had to be re-run. Headlines has had a sales increase afterall.
January 2, 201114 yr Well this is brilliant for the sats, they can only keep on selling it's in the top 40 on my hmv store now YEY. up to 27 on play.com I can see it maybe re-entering next week. It's not in my local asdas or any asdas i have been two. Tesco selling it for £9.99.
January 2, 201114 yr Author How crazy is this. It's half way there to becoming a platinum seller. That's slightly crazy right?!
January 2, 201114 yr How crazy is this. It's half way there to becoming a platinum seller. That's slightly crazy right?! I know. :o I remember everyone saying "if it makes 100K then that's amazing" then it was "130K would be great sales for it" and then "omg nearly at 150K!!" and now it could well sell 175K in the end. :o And considering how the last single was released two months ago, it's amazing that the album has stuck arond the top 100 all this time!
January 2, 201114 yr Author For an act and album of this calabre, the album has effectively picked them back up from where they ended with Chasing Lights. Next week will be interesting as there isn't really any more excuses for sales increases and climbing the charts like both releases have done the past 2 weeks. The pre and post Christmas market has helped them out alot and I hope that this isn't the end of these stable chart runs and sales. The singles chart this week was exceptional but that was down to the iTunes gift card effect where people have been given iTunes gifts cards for Christmas. However, it is the sales that have helped Headlines pick itself back up again this week. No guarentees as to what will happen next week though. Higher should stay Top 50, falling out the Top 40 and Headlines should be stable in the Top 60/50 also.
January 2, 201114 yr 200,000 sales would great; I do wonder why they're not considering another single, obviously we haven't had any confirmation that there won't be one but they're pretty damn stupid to not release a third single; they could get another platinum album here.
January 2, 201114 yr Because 'Headlines' was "never planned to be a full album" or whatever, but a treat for fans and was the bridge from the 2nd album and their 3rd album (which explains why they haven't been promoting it as much as people would probably have liked.) Very nice and healthy sales and chart run considering though!
