WELL. HMV has the album up for £6.99 - I hope it stays that price in store.

Usually, in store, the price is like £2 more. Nobody is going to pay £8.99 for this.

They wouldn't just put the price up in store :s. It's £6.99 all round.

they do, usualy things are much cheaper online with hmv than in stores. I kinda begrudge paying £6.99 for this, since I got chasing lights for that price, or possibly £5.99 in the week of its release. So paying £6.99 for this, when I will have already heard 5 out of the 8 songs in some form or another is just a bit crazy tbh

Go online, take some notes of prices.

Then take a trip to HMV then come say this to me

Trust me, I've done it and been like "WHAT?!"

Headlines is an ep which are not very succesful cause a lot of ep have a habit of selling lower than normal CDs

Headlines includes ego and forever is over swell as one shot this would put people off buying the album with 2 older singles they might of purchased ( forget one shot)

There singles do a lot better than their albums, so their is not enough interest for people to by their album

Only a few new tracks an I guarantee that the low price of the album won't help shift it

Missing you is a weak single just like forever is over so this will blunder their chances of the album selling well

The public prefer bubbly pop like up, issues ego etc this is shown by the high sales of these singles

The curse of the girlbands will once again damage the Saturdays and they might be dropped

August is a busy time for singles and album

The EP will almost certainly be out of the charts come November at the latest (that's assuming it doesn't do a Wordshaker). You're right, EP's never do as well in the charts as albums. Aside from their harcore fanbase I can't see anyone else really parting with their cash to buy an album with only a few new songs on it. It'll probably have a chart run like #10 - #31 - #38 - # 62 - #99 and out. :( At the very, very, very least they should put TWO singles out before this EP. Their label are so f***ing stupid they're prepared to ruin The Sats once again by making stupid decisions such as this. Why are they rushing with this release??

Missing You is the only hope, I guess. If it's a big hit and sells the EP to some degree and gets healthy sales like Ego or Up then maybe, just maybe they'll get ANOTHER chance. But right now i'm very pessimistic about this era. All it would have taken is to wait until December when sales are really high, release a great lead single (Higher?!?!) and then follow up with a ballad before releasing an album.

I'm gonna have to dissagree with you both there.

They're promoting Headlines as their next 'album'. I'm not saying it's not an EP because it is, but they're marketting it as an album (or mini-album as they may refer it to sometimes). Just saying it's an album itself will help it do better than talking about it like it's an EP. 'Forever Is Over' and 'Ego' are on there because compared to their audience and sales for Chasing Lights (300k+) compared to Wordshaker (70k+) you can see there is a significant drop, therefore the magority of people will not have Forever Is Over (140k+) but will most likely have Ego (290k), again therefore if they see Ego on there, they are more likely to buy the album. They can market and promote the album (especially on TV) "Including the singles Forever Is Over, Ego, and Missing You" etc. The deal with One Shot is understandable - if people like the remix then they may feel inclined to buy Wordshaker. I don't think for a seccond Missing You is a weak single. It appeals to a wider range of audience compared to their past hits, this is obvious since alot of new fans are coming forward out of 'The Saturdays closet' (haha). The love for this song has grown so much since it's radio debut a few weeks ago. You see all of the hate at the start then a whole lotta love for this. They've got a string of summer shows still in progress, not to forget all the promo they're gonna be doing for the Headlines/Missing You campaign. The girls have confirmed they're gonna be on Alan Carr: Chatty Man, and they've been filming for ITV, MTV and 4Music, so they're gonna be on our screens alot.

Another point, at least with the Headlines cover, customers (and in perticular new fans) will actually be able to see who they are this time. All you could see on Wordshaker was them looking about 2cm tall and couldn't see 'The Saturdays' logo at all. Seriously, why would they want to do two singles before the release of Headlines? It's 8 tracks long forgodsake, fans would already have half the album by that point in past single and album forms! They'll do another single leading up to the Christmas market, and hopefully it may be Higher (also alot of love when they perform it at summer shows). However we haven't even heard the rest of the album yet, and it's most likely they're saving the bigger future hits for the album - not giving too much away. Higher will not be the strongest track on the album. They wont get dropped either. Fascination may go bankrupt if they drop them. The Saturdays are at this moment in time their biggest money-makers as Girls Aloud are on what it feels like a forever-long-hiatus, and Girls Can't Catch have dispanded (they weren't dropped). Oh yeah, they're already working on their next album, as Rochelle confirmed "this is just to bridge the gap between Wordshaker and our next album".

I cannot believe people are not seeing it like this, stop being so bluddy negetive!

I think having Forever is Over and Ego will be a good move, casual fans who liked them may buy this and they

provide a familiar feel to the EP. I will buy both the single and the EP

8.99 on Amazon, they are usually quite cheap with their prices :(

I don't mind paying that much though

Didn't realise the price varies that much from online to in the store! Wow!

I rememebr Chasing Lights was about 9.99 when I baught it from Woolworths (sobs) and it was something like 11.99 in HMV, and now we have no choice but to get it from HMV. I may just pre-order it in that case, not that i'd mind spending 8.99 for it, just the fact it's cheaper online.

Plus some online places lower their prices nearer release dates, Amazon did when i ordered Kylie's album.

'Wordshaker' is £7.99 on HMV's site, instore (here in Notts) £16.99! NOT EVEN JOKING! :drama:

Their label should take note and take advantage of HMV's sale they have at the moment! Why don't they talk with HMV and get their album down to £2.99/£3.99 (just like BEP's did (when they reached number 3 again!) and JLS have done this week (they're climbing back up the album charts)) they need to get their act together (the label not The Sats :P) seriously. £16.99 for a year old album/a new album even, is diabolical.

GCC were dropped they said so themselves, they then disbanded.

Seriously? Where's your degree in "how charts work"?

Utter nonsense, I don't mind you putting your point across but don't start random new threads, they just cause arguments.

The girls themselves have confirmed this is just a stop-gap in between their second and third album, because the third album is not ready.

Their TV show is set for our screens in Autumn, so they will generate sales from that. Why would ITV2 give a show to a group who were about to be dropped?

Don't be daft.

I completely agree with everything you said.

The album and single should chart high, they will get a lot of TV promo as usual, they will have the ITV2 show as well as video and radio airplay.

Has that ITV2 documentary been confirmed at all yet? There have been rumours etc but nothing official yet? Hope it does happen though!

EDIT: Has now! Spookey.

Ah OK

Honestly missing you is an huge risk they are taking as their upbeat poppy sounding songs are what the fans like

They haven't even got a big fan base yet and still their crap management is allowing this nasty song to be released

Popjustice thinks the song is crap and one of my Mates at digital spy also believe it is one of the most weakest singles by the sats

Now how's a single like that gonna help the album to sell well?

They actually have new management, so your comment is completely null and void.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

I have faith that the new management team know what they're doing. They are shooting an album commercial today.

That's a SURE sign it will be plastered all over the TV..

Ah OK

It's not a documentary.. well it is, but with a difference.

It's apparently going to resemble The Monkee's TV show and the band will perform a track each episode.

Sounds amazing tbh

Ok so just because some influential people think the song is crap means the song will do crap? No.

They haven't got a big fan base? They've got a bigger one that Girls Aloud did at this point. Selling well over 1m records combined in the UK? They've obviously got a big fan base. The signs are there, please read them.
