Posted June 21, 201015 yr I think it's their best song. Una sounds amazing in her parts, in fact they all sound so good. I feel it was a great progression in their sound. It's almost like people resent it cos the album wasn't a hit. But honestly I think that came down to the girls themselves not being very likable. I do think they should have released the album after a second single but I just don't get why Forever Is Over seems to be despised among fans...
June 21, 201015 yr I don't hate it, it's in my top 10 Sats songs. It just wasn't the right choice for lead single, if One Shot or Ego was in it's place they could have had a no.1 tbh
June 21, 201015 yr I don't understand either tbh. I agree with Gagafan Gleek, it probably wasn't the best choice for the lead single, but I feel it is definatley single worthy! It is my fave Sats song too <3
June 21, 201015 yr I'm the same, I would say it's now my second favourite behind 'Ego' but it definitely deserved to be a single and it was a #2 smash despite relatively low sales. It seems to get loads of weird hate though.
June 21, 201015 yr It's awful. It sounds really messy & demo-y and the chorus/hook is far too shouty for me. It just didn't sound like The Saturdays, I appreciate them trying a new sound, but I think, unless they had more songs in the same vein as 'Forever Is Over' on the album, then it was completely pointless releasing it. They should have left it as an album track and seen what the fans thought and stuff through their forum, then maybe tried that sound for their next album or whatever. The only good thing about this song is, like you said, Una's parts. Everything else, BLEURGH!. All imo obviously :P
June 21, 201015 yr Because it was partically responsoble for ruining their careers :P Despite reaching #2, it dropped of the charts at an incredible speed and it sales are about half of those of Ego, which peaked 7 posistions lower than it. IMO theres a good 5-7 tracks on the album which are better than it and to some extent - its very out of place, from the sounds of Forever Is Over everyone was expecting a mature sounding album but it was nothing like that. It was a bad choice of single and was responsible for Wordshaker's bomb so despite the fact that I think its a good song the hate is deserved.
June 21, 201015 yr I think it's good, not their best. It took me ages to like it though and it just clicked with me one day. I think it gets too much blame placed on it for the second album failing. 'Ego' being a much bigger hit than 'Forever Is Over' still couldn't do anything for the album, there's simply more to it than that.
June 21, 201015 yr because it's so not single worthy, let alone lead single worthy. it's the worst song on 'wordshaker' imo, and if 'ego' was released first it could have done so much better chartwise. plus the fact that it was the single that launched the album and it's miserable chart run. :(
June 22, 201015 yr I don't know why it gets so much hate either. It's their best single if you ask me. It's beautiful.
June 22, 201015 yr The only reason people hate it is the fact that it didn't launch the album well. However, if they'd of released a seccond single (Ego) before the albums release, the album itself would of done a whole lot better, and 'Ego' would of peaked so much higher. I don't see any problem with Forever Is Over myself, I think it's a great track, not their best, but certainly not their worst. Infact I like all their singles, I don't really hate any of them. It's starting to annoy me that people (including me) we were expecting a 'summer anthem' but instead we got 'Missing You' and therefore imediately hate the track without hearing the full thing - and they expect it to sound the same as their past material. Yet they futher complain then that they wanted it to sound like their previous material before 'Wordshaker'. How can you do that if you have people wanting to revert back to the 'Chasing Lights' sound yet not let the group progress?! They're not gonna have the same sound forever for god sake.
June 23, 201015 yr It wasn't the Saturdays sound people got used to I suppose? Erm I liked it at the time, think its alright still now. All the live shouting performances of it were awful though.
June 24, 201015 yr I think the fans like to say it's not a strong enough single to lead an album, and almost blame it for Wordshaker's disappointing figures. At the end of the day, even Ego didn't do much for the album. So I don't see why that doesn't get as much hate?
June 25, 201015 yr I like it, but 'Ego' should've lead - and probably would've earned them a #1. They also could've released 2 singles before the album. :)
June 25, 201015 yr it was a poor decision! they had some good pop songs on the album, it did not get the excitement they needed! it reached number 2 because of their fans! i would personally have gone with wordshaker or one shot as a more powerful first single followed by ego!
June 28, 201015 yr I like it, but 'Ego' should've lead - and probably would've earned them a #1. They also could've released 2 singles before the album. :) They wouldn't have trounched Chipmunk that week, it was too huge at the time.
