'I Gotta Feeling' is benefitting from being the main song they use on the HMV advert advertising their album for £3. If it's effecting the album so much, then it's obviously going to effect 'I Gotta Feeling' too :P

Pretty certain it's dropped at least to the low 60s.

What's more interesting is that since the release of the album, it's only been out of the official top 75 once - the third week of availability, it was #79. It spent three weeks lingering around the top 80 from the album's release until it hit the top 40, and since then it has never gone lower than the #68 position it held in its second week of release.

It's only been out of the UK top 50 eight times since it first became available:

70-68-79-39-10-3-3-1-2-1-2-3-5-5-7-6-5-8-6-7-10-16-14-14-17-20-20-27-24-14-22-28-31-31-33-35-33-41-48-50-50-45-50-45-54-54-45-46-45-43-60-52-49-56

Wow, that's absolutely amazing! No wonder it's sold 1,000,000. To be fair, the song does seem to rise into the 40s every weekend, and by the time it's fallen 20 or so places on iTunes, it's the weekend again! I never realized it was almost top 40 again, for 4 weeks, 4 weeks ago. Also, does anyone remember why it rose 10 places randomly one week? It went 27-24-14-22-28, but I'm struggling to remember why. Was it the Christmas effect or something?

I always had a feeling (no pun intended) that Roll Deep's song was modelled to be like I Gotta Feeling, in a way. Like a happy song, that gets you really excited for a party. The formula is very cheap, in all fairness, but I can see why people would do it.

I would agree that Scissor Sisters are more of an album act- but dont forget 'I Dont Feel Like Dancing' that was one of the best selling singles of the whole decade and spent a month at number 1- clearly that was an exception!

so their not TOTALLY an albums act as they have had well selling singles as well, some album acts have great sales for albums, but not great for singles- like Muse, decent singles sales, but nowhere near as much as album sales

Oh and its been a year since I Gotta Feeling entered the charts :kink:

New releases tonight;

Enrique Iglesias ft. Pitbull - I Like It

Wiley ft. Jodie Connor & J2K - Electric Boogaloo (Find A Way)

Dan Balan - Chica Bomb

Dee-lux - Hot Hot Hot

Skepta - Rescue Me

Enrique and Dan will go Top 10 I think. Wiley and Dee-lux Top 40. Dunno about Skepta, could be a semi hit or just completely flop.

It was the "iTunes Xmas Gift Card effect" I believe. Many songs rose in one week - Everybody In Love, Bad Boys, Fight For This Love, I Gotta Feeling etc.

I think Enrique will go top 5, Wiley top 40, but not sure about the rest

Enrique Iglesias (surely that's got to be the best name ever?) is on Alan Carr tomorrow.

Bad news is that he's on alongside Katie and Alex.

I suspect 'Chica Bomb' to do a 'Hot' or maybe a bit worse. I'm sure that it'll be vastly underperforming during the first two or three days of release like 'Hot' and 'Stereo Love' did. Maybe then the song will pick up into the top-10 and actually do a 'Hot'.

As for Enrique... Is he still relevant? I'm not sure if it is going to get top-10. But the fun has started, the songs were released now. :P

LOVEEEE I like it!

Didn't realise it was released soo early... Downloaded

Slightly off topic...The Sats could get their first Number 1.The video is being played everywhere already looks like it could get huge Airplay..I can see this flying into the top 3 AT LEAST...when you see it on TV it's just amazing.

He has revamped himself..The songs very Current so should have no problem doing well..Plus he's done a bit of promo so should be a hit.

Enrique better get another hit. I decided earlier, after listening to 'I Like It', that he's one of my favourite male solo artists. He's had plenty of surprisingly good songs, 'Hero', 'Escape', 'I'm Not In Love' (Yes. He made a Kelis song GOOD :o), 'Bailamos', 'Takin' Back My Love' & my personal favourite of his 'Do You Know (Ping Pong Song)'

I'd rather he stayed true to himself and released songs in the vein of 'Hero' and 'Addicted' instead of this autotuned throwaway piece of crap. I really hope he goes back to his old self. :drama:

He's my favourite male artist ever along with Michael Jackson.

'Hero', 'Addicted, 'Escape', 'Bailamos', 'Do You Know?' and the intro/RedOne shoutout to 'Takin' Back My Love' are all brilliant! Basically your favourites.

Skepta's EP was on the iTunes album chart on pre-orders, so that's another track that may go Top 10.

My predictions for where they'll peak officially:

Enrique Iglesias ft. Pitbull - I Like It #8

Wiley ft. Jodie Connor & J2K - Electric Boogaloo (Find A Way) #5

Dan Balan - Chica Bomb #14

Dee-lux - Hot Hot Hot #18

Skepta - Rescue Me #29

The last two are guesses as I have never heard of them! :D

Don't underestimate the European dance acts, most people said 'Hot' and 'Stereo Love' wouldn't go top-10 and both of them were very confident to get to #6 and #4 respectively.

Although I admit that Chica Bomb can miss top-10, it's not that strong as two above.

Kylie's had the best promo possible this week - great performances on Jonathan Ross & Glastonbury... hope she makes the top 3 next week! :cheer:

And I hope the Scissor Sisters do the business on both albums & singles next week too.

And before the new week kicks out properly...
