I can't tell if this whole name change for each place is ingenious or just really desperate.

No, the whole of Europe is slow(ish) at picking it up, not just the UK.

 

'Yoü And I' is a at #70 on the Official UK Chart this week.

i do not really like this single.

Does nobody else get a strong theme of domestic violence/control coming across in the video? The mermaid scene suggests to me a mermaid stuck in a tin bath reliant on her human man to keep her wet and alive. Likewise when she's that machine woman trying to break out, she has the man controlling her and powering her etc.

I get a feeling that it's about how the man is controlling her too much in the relationship, bringing in domestic violence as one of the reason.

I can't even comprehend why, it's so sad because country is probably my favourite genre next to pop yet as far as we get on board is the odd minor album hit and maybe once a blue moon a miraculous single (Need You Now, Love Story) that does well. And my favourite singer of all time (Carrie Underwood) has only had one album chart here, at 93 (without support). I mean I don't see why, pure country I can kind of understand having a hard time (though they often do OK in albums) but I really think country-pop like Carrie Underwood could have a chance, given support. I think that's it, support. Although You & I's getting support and is still struggling, though it may just not be appealing to some of her fans, Carrie would have a target audience and I'm sure she could easily have a Love Story sized hit given half a chance :( Or is my looning clouding my judgment? :P
