But anyway, I'm glad You & I has been playlisted by Radio 1 and 2. I had a feeling it might've been snubbed by Radio 1, as it's slightly country sounding, but now it has hopefully it can go top 20 ^_^

I was worried it would peak at 22 or something, but with the radio support I think top 20 is a cert, I wouldn't rule out top 10 tbh. It's not even that country sounding - it does sound kind of like something Shania Twain would release in 1998 (that's a compliment btw, I love You & I) but it's more just pop with a slightly rock and roll twist to me. Though maybe I just listen to too much 'proper' country (Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride etc.) to hear it :lol:

 

It's a good time to release a song like this. These kind of songs stand out in a chart dominated by dance pop.

The general public would probably class it as 'country-sounding' and I was worried Radio 1 would snub it because country is generally disliked and considered 'not cool' in the UK. And Radio 1 would never want to playlist anything that 'isn't cool' :P

Just like Alexandra Burke 'doesn't fit their audience' :P It's just me listening to too much country I think, everyone else says it does sound country except me :lol:

Country-ish songs do not do well in this country AT ALL. If this was the late 90's then it'd be a different story.

I can't feel positive about this being a single, despite the video being decent. Overtakes 'Telephone' as her worst (well, I mean most average) single for me. There was plenty on this album that is both more interesting and completely different to her usual.

Well she's definitely in a good position in to go top 10 in the US, #13 on itunes and the VMA's are right around the corner and obviously she's got something over the top planned so it could very well do a Paparazzi effect and end up pretty high on itunes after the performance and possibly go top 10 on the hot 100 in the next week or so.

Gaga fans are never happy to almost the same degree Britney's fans are easily satisfied.

Just heard 'Yoü And I' on the radio for the first time, would've sounded amazing if they hadn't cut out about 90 seconds. It was put together awful.
