Since 'The Writer' was announced as her new single and a video prem'd etc. I decided to give her album another listen and it's better than I remember. I think i've been a little harsh on her. It's re-growing on me I think and deservedly so. 'The Writer' is my firm favourite though, and I still think 'Starry Eyed' & 'Guns & Horses' are disgustingly average.

That's what I did when Guns and Horses came out. The album wasn't as $h!t as I initially thought on reinspection. It's still pretty bland and samey. This Love, Starry Eyed, The Writer, Guns and Horses, Under the Sheets and Salt Skin are all above par though, IMO, and 6 decent songs on an album is respectable.

Starry Eyed is great. Love the melody and the production.

 

Not a huge fan of Ellie. Not been keen on either Starry Eyed or Guns & Horses but this is really good. Nice song, the first of hers i think i actually like :o

I'm dying to go to the Kirsty tribute... Hope my friend will get me tickets. (Or alternatively.. I hope theres tickets in two weeks!)

Same about the album and I agree with 5 of the 6 songs you've mentioned (I haven't really listened to This Love).

 

Starry Eyed > Under The Sheets = Guns & Horses = Salt Skin >>>> The Writer, I think though. But I like all.
