A wish to gauge the opinion on those subjects. How can you even TRY to defend a post from an attention-seeking self-absorbed **** (from prior knowledge of his tantrums in years gone past...) coming into a forum he clearly knows he knows nothing of and just going 'eh'?

You forget that BJSC is the home of the silent participant.

 

Around 50% of the participants don't contribute to any of the odds, predicta or even the live final thread, so I seriously doubt you'll get them to speak up in here :lol: I seriously don't get what the joy is from submitting a song each month but taking a completely outside role in the contest other than that - if one of these people (they know who they are :P) ever win and get the chance to host, it could be very interesting indeed, as they'll be forced to play an active role.

 

I see no fun in creating an imaginary country / creating fake news stories / creating fake quotes by my entries / etc. I find it kind of sad actually. Odds are just kinda ehhh.

 

That being said, I do speak up in finals if I'm around for them, unfortunately being in the US I'm usually either asleep / at work when they're going on.

 

Judging by the looks of things, we're going back to semis, meh meh meh meh. I'll stick around for a lil longer. But I'll probably be even more silent than ever.

You bring plenty to the forum in terms of discussion in the odds/final threads and your own national threads. I was speaking about the people that only ever turn up to confirm a song and you never hear from them again, they don't even post in their own national thread, let alone anywhere else.

I'm not defending him, "Eh" is a completely pointless post.

I voted for semis and old voting system.

I'm really not sure what to vote for yet :( I think I'm 50-50 on this too now, and as rich I can see and like the benefits of both formats! I don't know, I enjoy the concept of everyone being in the final, and the points system which makes things a lot more interesting. Although it doesn't feel just as much as a competition anymore and getting points/finishing high in a final doesn't feel as big as it used to do. Maybe having semis will make me treause things like that again, as well as giving me incentive for being more active and interested, but having a one big final balances things like results and commutes our focus from competition and on the discoveries we make. *sigh* unfortunately I like them both just as much..

i do like the one big final becasue there's less pressure to vote early, but i think the competition as a whole is better with semi finals!

I am still 50-50 on this though, but - I voted for - and I might prefer Semi finals and New points system!

WOO. And semis have a 55% majority at the moment, to solve any arguments that semis didn't have to get 55%.

Don't rush Rob, after all Tacticz voted and i am not entirely sure this vote would be counted :lol: :lol: I think manual votes counting would be the best solution.

 

Oh and yeah we got this weirdo Pete Seaton or whatever his name posting here and who knows if he voted as well :lol:

Even so, the big final needed a 55% majority to stay, and with 2 or 3 votes less it would still be quite a way from that, with semis still in front...

But people who are for semis could have not stated what they voted for in this thread. I personally think we will never find a compromise by such polls :lol:

 

Maybe run another trial contest but with semis this time? So to convince 'semis' people that it's not a big final's fault for activity decrease and that i will DNQ with whatever i send :kink:

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty clear-cut that we're back to semis this time around, so I'm closing this poll.

 

The BJSC will revert to semi-finals and will retain the expanded voting system.
