3OH!3 up to #11. Why isn't Kelis climbing? I thought Alan Carr would of at LEAST got her into the top 40.
2010 has been the worst year for number ones. Why have Lady Gaga and Kylie had to miss out thanks to a load of rubbish beating them?

Well, clearly people don't want to buy Kylie's song.

And Lady Gaga has had 2 number-ones this year, which is more than I think she deserves...

That's not true otherwise she wouldn't be number 3

Haha. That is true.

Well, if more people wanted to buy the song, she'd be number-one. XD

How do you know that if Kylie didn't stagger the digital and physical release she would have been #1 this week?

well if you add her first week digital sales to her physical sales it still wouldn't have been enough for #1 this week.

Wasn't the Bad Romance return to #1 week added to 2009's sales?

I don't.

But if 100,000 people wanted to buy Kylie's song this week, she'd've been number-one. Not that many people wanted to buy the song this week, so she wasn't. More people wanted to buy Airplanes and California Gurls this week.

I think the week where Bad Romance was number-one, for the 2nd time, was added to 2009's sales. I'm not sure though. But in the UK, the charts are done so that when an artist is number-one, they're number-one for the week after. Katy Perry is number-one this week, even though JLS will probably sell more this week. So Bad Romance was number-one in 2010, even though the week where it got the sales to have it return to number-one began in December 2009.

Marina still at #262. :(

Jason Derulo started off well with 'What If' shooting to the top 300 but now it's stuck around the same position as Marina.

Plan B stuck at #32.

Diana stuck at #80.

Scouting For Girls stuck at #68.

Adam Lambert stuck at #73.

Maybe it's frozen again! (I'm joking by the way, incase anybody doesn't realize).

There's 3 new tracks queing outside the top 10. Two of them should get in, as Wavin' Flag and Kickstarts are falling.

Yep, and I think (or hope) that it will be Eliza and Yolanda. Yolanda is gaining faster, and 3OH!3, well, they're just horrible :puke2:

Hopefully,

Katy ended yesterday on 82% the value of JLS, despite the 7pm Projection of 73%, JLS & Eliza looked frontloaded, 3OH!3 & Yolanda Be Cool were rising.

The 7pm projection was based on a flat linear sales pattern which won't take account of the fact that most people will be in bed by 10pm/11pm though, therefore rendering the last hour/2 hours redundant! ;)

I make Yolanda #6 combined if we assume that a proportion of people wanting to buy the version they hear on the radio are purchasing the Marco Calliari version too.

Also, I don't really know how to explain it, but we don't know for sure that the pop-bars on iTunes are fully representatitve (if that's the correct word). Like, we're assuming it's done the simple way, where each sale in the past 24 hours contributes exactly the same to the pop-bars. This may not be the case. They might've done it so that a sale one hour ago contributes more to the popularity bar than a sale 23 hours ago. The advantages of doing it that way is that the popularity bars are more "current" at any given time, as more recent sales are given more weight than the sales almost a day ago. The main disadvantage is that it's more complicated, but there's far more complicated things on iTunes than weighted popularity bars.

To be fair, the figures that RIOS gets are usually quite accurate, which suggests most of his assumptions are reasonable, but we just don't know, and should keep them in mind.

Eliza and 3OH!3 will be in the top 10 in no time, I reckon the top 10 effect favours established acts more so expect "My First Kiss" to do a Pendulum and stall for a while at #11/12 before rocketing to about #3.

If they don't do it by Thursday, then they won't make it all.
