Obviously, subscribers will already know this, but in case anyone else here is interested - this was included in the weekly email...

From Chris Wall (editor) :

This now brings me onto something which has been going on in the background for many weeks and I hope you will all be delighted to hear:  "UKChartsPlus" will officially launch with next week's issue.  Some of you know how long it's taken to secure the supply of a few new charts and we've all been working extremely hard behind the scenes (as we always do!) to get everything ready, so what better time than the week which marks the half way point in 2010?

Your R&B Singles extend to Top 50, the Year To Date charts extend to Top 100s and the Download chart increases to a - wait for it -

Top 200!  New charts include the Indie Breakers Singles and Albums Top 20, The Big Top 40, TV Airplay Top 40, Vinyl Albums Top 40 and not forgetting the Digital Albums Top 100.  In total, we increase by an additional 30.5% chart entries!

It doesn't end there, as we'll also be featuring NES Albums (covering the first 100 albums) and our new "Index", which lets you see all your favourite singles and albums placings across our featured charts at a glance - so make sure your "in box" is junk free next week for the first bumper issue of "UKChartsPlus - 463" and we hope you'll like what you see!

***********

The extension of the YTD's to T100 will obviously be very useful to me, personally.

The full T200 downloads will be welcome, as it's been several years since I've seen it - and then only unofficially.

The album download T100 is a great addition too, now that 15-20% of albums now sell in that format. I know some people here are still vinyl fans too, so the T40 albums of that format wall no doubt be of interest to them. :)

Vinyl Top 40? Excellent. I'd love to see a recent example of a vinyl album chart.

Well, buy next week's issue :D

I am pleased you all like the new additions. Hope it will tempt new subscribers to the fold. So tell your friends! (Mine all know, and are sick of me telling them...)

£31 for 13 issues is not that bad at all actually. It'd be better if they had sales with them though. I'd be inclined to fork out if that be the case.
Nice that they're going to include more charts - not sure I'm that the charts enough these days to get the subscription though. I don't see the point of the downloads top 200, it's not going to be massively different from the single top 200 is it, with physical sales so low.

Tunng topped the vinyl sales chart a few weeks back even though the album itself didn't go top 40, so it would be interesting to see how much of an effect vinyl has on the chart. I suspect seeing Paul Weller getting several months on top.

You *can* buy issues individually, but it's much cheaper in the long run to subscribe quarterly or annual.

Perhaps not - but the last few entries on that chart won't be in the combined one, so in effect, it will give a strong indication of 'bubbling under' entries.

Nobody gives you that kind of sales info. It's just not able to be got. Sorry. You're not allowed to publish that. And we don;t get it in any case.

I do miss the weekly (bought in paper shop) chart magazines with the complete charts, a la Record Mirror.

So

i) subscribe to ChartsPlus

ii) print it out

iii) take it to your local newsagent

iv) hand it to the person behind the counter

v) leave the shop

vi) walk back in

vii) hand over some money

viii) the person behind the counter hands you your copy of ChartsPlus and your money back

Simple :D

What - my YTD estimates aren't good enough for you? :P

Yeah! and going into the shop and discovering they were sold out / hadn't got them in. As Suedehead says - take out a subscription and if you really need a hard copy print it out! :)
