Not sure who this girl is but the song was used on So You Think You Can Dance and appeared in the US iTunes Top 10 not long after. I really like it! Think 'You Lost Me' meets 'Beautiful' (although her voice is nothing like Christina's).

It's exactly one year after this thread opened and now the song is number 54 in the UK iTunes chart. This sounds a bit like ADELE production wise, and I think I should bump this thread because it screams 'hit', especially with Heart playlisting it recently. She can really sing, and she somehow doesn't make this ballad boring like many people do (Bruno Mars and Beyonce spring to mind) I quite like this song :)

She is top 30 in Ireland offical singles chart this week.

Have loved this song since I first heard it back a year ago tomorrow (going by my earlier post in this thread) and I'm glad it finally seems to be breaking worldwide after it was a hit in America. It's number 2 on Australian iTunes, top 30 in Ireland (as Aphrodite mentioned) and climbing on UK iTunes!

I have to say I am one of the people who discovered this after it was used on Glee. Gorgeous voice and the song is something I can relate to. I am so pleased it is getting some recognition over here as it is stunning. :wub:

It just shows how immensely popular it is and is going to be, helped by its price reduction. If Radio 1 and the rest of radio get behind it and the odd television performance then it has the potential to be a massive #01 I'd have thought...

 

I never ever normally love stuff like this. Total contradiction to my general taste but I adored it from first listen.

Just saw her album on sale in HMV, albeit the import version - still only £9.99 though!

 

The UK release is scheduled in for the end of September now, too far away and the hype will have died...oh well.

 

It's a strong-ish album with 4 or 5 standouts and a sea of 'good/ok' songs, not something I'm desperate to own physically though.
