I quite like the idea of Unknown Pleasures, I know it's tough to keep up a reputation, but then again, I think people could smell one of my entries a mile off...

on the unknown pleasures topic, I think a "pop" unknown pleasures would be a good thing, as it will stop people complaining about a lack of bjsc and then would encourage less bjsc type songs in the other unknown pleasures meaning less complaints from people like me who like UP because it doesnt have the crap bjsc does.

 

oh and Unknown Pleasures is in the indie forum to encourage more obscure and alternative tracks, where as if it was posted in the lounge it would all be female vocalists that sound the same like in bjsc.

I don't see how 'You've Got A Friend In Me' is a "joke" entry though... not compared to those choosing YT parodies and stuff.

 

One or two I can handle and LOL etc... but anymore than that and they're becoming pathetic and ruining the whole contest, which I thought was just going to be taking a 3 month break or something. Didn't realise you guys were actually considering to completely do a new contest altogether... :huh: I dunno. Surely one contest every couple of months instead of ripping off another idea is better? If I want to enter Unknown Pleasures, I'll enter the one in the Indie forum. But I don't want too, I want fun songs, which have a bit of everything in and not limited to one particular genre. One contest a month is a bit tiresome but one every 2 or 3 months I think would be nice.

Not so much a pop version - more a 'not limited to indie version', if you get what I mean. I'm presuming that BJ will stay true to form and end up sending pop rather than suddenly develop a taste for death metal en masse.

No Tom, I'm not taking the p***. Like Jonjo said, 'You've Got A Friend' is NOT a joke entry, it's an excellent song Chris was contemplating sending anyway.

 

All these joke, parody entries are completley DESTROYING the point of the contest in the last one, it's pathetic.

Why did nobody mention that UP contest here? Would have loved to enter that. :P

I am also against all the joke entries. It's gonna ruin the last edition. And will the people sending the joke entries all vote for each other, and make it so the more sensible songs end near the bottom? Just stupid - I don't even like these joke songs.

 

And I'm someone who doesn't want BJSC to end, especially since this is only my third edition.
