I know right :drama: Who does he think he is? The only Canadian that has the right to tell anyone what to do in Eurovision is Celine Dion. :smoke:

If we send Barrowman I'm learning German fluently, or Norwegian, or Icelandic and emigrating to the US where i can pretend i'm European and not from the UK or have anything to do with that country.

I will even apply for a German passport.

i think jade ewen has done the best we will do for a long time

Edited by Gaga for Glee!

have we had any news for whos working with us for eurovision.

No

We should be getting some news this coming week. The BBC's Eurovision website now has this banner

How bizarre, hopefully that means that they consider that they've put some effort into the selection this year

is this a big massive clue that Katrina and The Waves might be representing us again??
Does Katrina even still talk to the Waves, I thought they lost all contact with each other shortly after the contest? Katrina on her own wouldn't be completely out of the question I guess...

I doubt we'll be getting Katrina and the Waves. Signs are at the moment that Same Difference could possibly be in contention given the near-complete silence on the issue from one of their label managers aside from a forced denial...

Still, GAY SCREAMS all around if they send Karma Karma complete with Alcazar.

That Alcazar and Same Difference song is rather amazing! I'm very excited to see who we end up putting forward anyway!
*cue Josh Dubovie-esque mess being sent from the only Myspace artist who responded to the BBC appeal for artists*

Given the success of 'Hold It Against Me' in Europe. I think it's time we did a Germany and sent something completely of the time but different to what usually gets sent to ESC...

TIME TO GO DUBSTEP. (Well not completely dubstep, something like HIAM would be nice :kink:)

Satellite wasn't of the time at all! http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif If it had been sent three years earlier, possibly...

Therefore the logical option for us is to SEND DUFFY.

SAME DIFFERENCE.

Please be Same Difference. I friggin' ADORE them. But there not the best singers so we probably wouldn't go anywhere near top 10.

Lena and Chanee & N'evergreen from last year are a sign that if the song's good enough ropey vocals won't matter! The only problem is is that this sound has LONG since sailed when it comes to Eurovision - Hera and Charlotte Perrelli only managed lower top 20 off it, and we'd probably muster the same.

Still, would be worth it if they sent Karma Karma.

It would be a big middle finger in the air to Sweden if we finally gave Alcazar their wish and sent them to Eurovision (albeit for the UK) and they ended up beating Sweden in the final.

I don't think that sending Same Difference would go down overly well with the British public though, I like them a lot but they're so cheesy and their brand of pop, as good as it is, is still incredibly dated and wouldn't work at ESC.

If we're looking to 2008 for inspiration and want a pioneering sound for Eurovision, surely we have to look to H 'Two' O feat Platnum? :o

It would go down well with the British public in the same way sending Scooch did - regardless of the clear massive leaps and bounds the contest has taken in the last ten years, the last five in particular, most people in the country STILL associate the contest with the sorts of happy clappy bubblegum pop which Same Difference represented with their first album. They've gone for a more mature (ish) modern Scandipop sound for the second album (coincidentally one of my most anticipated of the year, and less than a month away!) which is unlikely to do a thing anyway, but I doubt the British public will care much in any case - let's face it, they were one of those acts everyone thought to be destined for Eurovision anyway.

Sad but true I guess, but we're definitely landing in the bottom five again if Same Difference are sent. It wouldn't be as embarrassing as Scooch (well, maybe it would actually - they are a very uncomfortable concept for an act, brother and sister occasionally singing love songs at each other), but like you said, even if the song was decent, it would go the same way as Hera and Charlotte. I too though am very much looking forward to their second album, I loved the first and this sounds like an improvement :o

But serious Eurovision purists in the UK would be very angered by them being sent. Even I would be to an extent, because it would just reaffirm what we already know, that the BBC do still see the contest as a bubblegum pop affair - I do like to support our country in the contest, and believe that we may have a chance when it comes to the voting, but it's incredibly hard to keep the faith when we're constantly sending songs from genres that nobody listens to anymore, usually crap ones at that too - I could live with a Hero/Je Ne Sais Quoi even if it meant flopping, but That Sounds Good To Me? Please...

I agree with the above points. The BBC should be making more of an effort - at least try and aim for top 10 if they're so bothered about costs involved in hosting Eurovision 2012. Do another Jade Ewan and aim for 5th place. It looks good for the UK (ie; not another last place) and the BBC don't have to worry about going into liquidation. :heehee:
