Kylienips?

Have they not missed one? [/pointstillstands]

I think an ultimate underdog victory would be a fitting end, 22 contests, 10 DNQs, only finished in the top 10 once - to a win :kink: What a Brawn GP/Germany story that would be?

You know what to do Buzzjack <3

Victory for the underrated underdog would also be voting Ashton a Country that saw it's last top10 8 contests ago, has competed in all 28 and reached 22 [i think] finals, and has spent XII-XXVIII in an average position of 22nd [ish]

PLUS it would be the only song in a foreign language to ever win #jussayin

Catching up from the other thread, I've seen a whole load of negativity towards what I've chosen to send

Hate to be a lone voice of descent, but I'm not mad keen on this. I nearly pulled out about half an hour ago, because to all intents and purposes BJSC *IS* my source of new music. It's partly by choice, but I don't tend to listen to all the new releases, because I know they'll wind up in BJSC eventually. But all these joke songs... I kind of feel like BJSC is going down in flames. Tbh maybe I should change to Cher - Just Like Jessie James? :kink:

I assume you're talking about my entry. I didn't go for Pat / Peggy for it to be a joke. I genuinely do love the remix, I have it on mp3 and also on my iPod. I thought it'd be fun to end with something a bit different, as I'm pretty sure this'll be the last 'BJSC' that I take part in.

You complained about me confirming 'Hang With Me' and now you're complaining that I'm sending 'Mutton Dressed As Lamb' - I don't know what I can do?

I didn't expect me sending my entry to spark some OMG LET'S SEND PARODIES (which isn't even what my song is) and I think there's only one parody anyway?

God bless Casey starting the whole thing

I didn't exactly mean to start anything. I love my entry, personally ! If people wish to see it as a 'joke' then so be it, I just wanted to bring more fun back to this contest, which it has been lacking for me recently, and by sending 'Mutton Dressed As Lamb' I do actually care about where I end up and very interested to see!

This too.

Ashton for the XXVIII win

I wasn't talking about your song specifically, more at the fact that after you chose your song, there was a rush to confirm novelty/jokey songs, again not parodies per se. As it is, as you say, possibly the last BJSC as we know it, why not send a really good song that you love and that people wouldn't have heard? I admit that I did think Hang With Me was rather cheap, but tbh I haven't had a chance to listen to that yet either, so maybe I should have kept quiet, even if it was a guaranteed winner...

There's like two others? 'Pardon Me' is also an amazing track that I do actually love, despite it looking quite novelty. :( I don't think 'Hang With Me' would have been amazingly cheap, it's not even out in HQ and like five people from bjsc have actually made any comment about it in the relevent topic.

Oh wellz.

WE'RE LOOKIN' FOR ROYYYYY.

The link for my video doesn't work for whatever reason, here you go;

^_^

And 'Mutton Dressed As Lamb' is amazing.

I'd quite like my song to be cut at like 4:35ish, but I don't know how to do it ;(

Haha indeed!

I'll be back next month with a vengence!

Except the contest's likely taking a break for a month or two...

And i just started thinking that y'all didn't want me to do mp3's. I was almost heartbroken :drama:

Anyways, as I'm leaving for a week in like 3 days I'll try to collect all of them today and tomorrow, i hope you all don't hurry anywhere.

I LOVE how Tirren has essentially entered 'When You Were Young'. AMAZING.

OMG that gotta be good then :o It's the 3rd best song of 2006 after all!

Shoes isn't really a parody too, as i said quite a catchy track, with novelty factor being a bonus imo. <3

 Indeed, I heard it a week ago and it instantly reminded me of that crossed with a poppier Into The Nightlife. Good song though

Pardon Me sounds like the sort of thing that would have turned up in the UK ESC selection in the late 90's, finishing 4th or 5th  Fantastic!

Not as great as Pat vs. Peggy though although I'm rather sad that MC Frank gets a credit but not Rude boi Roy :drama:

Listening through the final now, some of the presumably serious entries sound more like jokes than some of those that have been getting attention. If we didn't each have to vote for almost half of the songs here, I'd say that there were a few contenders for first ever 'nul points'.
