Oh we love a good escalation. :S To be fair, the reaction of the Lebanese prime minister to a ground invasion by Israel earlier today was surprisingly absent of the white-hot fury that another sovereign state was invading his borders so I suppose they knew this was coming.

This does feel pretty dangerous.

  • Utterly heartbreaking. Some top tier journalism by Louis Theroux, will be interesting if the State goes after him now in the same way there’s been a coordinated attack on Kneecap. Really did hone in

What is that 11-year-old going to think about Israel as he grows up? That's why Israel's murderous campaign is so insane. It just stirs up further hatred against their state.

He has undermined his whole ethos of anti-war when you allow massacres that really weren’t necessary. Dropping bombs on tents of dozens of people is obscene then knowing it’ll overwhelm hospitals th

Iran's state-run news agency IRNA has now confirmed that Tehran's military has started launching ballistic missiles towards Israel.

It's basically a declarqtion of war. Trump's wrak response to an Irsnian midsile strike on a US base led to this.

Question is will this be similar to the attack in May which seemed like they did it for show or a proper attack on Isreal?

No because in that one they gave the US prior warning but this one they didn’t plus they used missiles a lot harder to detect, they wanted to actually do damage this time.

Iran is furious that it's proxies are getting degraded. The attack in April was a warning to Israel to leave its proxies alone. It used them to contain Israel. This time, yup, it wanted to do damage. It really is a declaration of war. I can see Israel and the US doing a major retaliation - US destroying it's sea radars, to stop it's Houthi threat, and Israel bombing it's nuclear centres.
Israel was not doing so well on the ground in Lebanon they lost 8 men straight away and had several casualties the next day so they’ve resorted to just indiscriminately bombing everywhere from the air claiming so and so was in a building in the area so it’s fine. Basically a repeat of Gaza to an extent, 28 medics were killed as they tried to help the injured. It’s pretty astonishing the level of barbarity Israel are allowed to get away with it makes me wonder what the reaction would be if they used Nukes against Iran or something like that. At this point I think Starme/Biden etc would class it under Israel defending themselves. No doubt in Gaza the aim is to kill as many as possible through any means including starvation or diseases. They view even children as future terrorists so it’s justified in their mentality, the less Gazans in Gaza the smaller the threat they face. It’s textbook genocide really. The fact everybody witnessed this and they’re now beginning similar in Lebanon without much pushback at all from the international world is pure insanity. There are no hostages in Lebanon, so the original pretext isn’t even there, it’s purely opportunistic from Netanyahu to provoke a war with Iran and somehow nobody is doing anything. Pretty dark stain on the western world right now.

It’s exactly why I strongly oppose western foreign policy even if it makes me sound like a so called bot.

The rules only apply when it suits the west and they BS around democracy as if they care about fairnsss and justice.

The latest in Lebanon is that Israel bombed the city centre without any warning a place where people went because it was deemed safe. Injuring hundreds and killing dozens, pretty much all innocent people. The aim is clearly psychological warfare and terrorism. They deliberately bomb every hour at night so people are sleep deprived. They blew up walkie talkies and pagers so nobody trusts technology. So citizens are tired, got nowhere to go, scared to use technology and nowhere is safe. They are literally using an extreme form of terrorism to force Lebanese people to insert a US approved Gov or kick Hezbollah out which is never going to happen so essentially they’re using citizens non compliance with their unrealistic demands as justification for widespread murder.

They also fired upon Irish UN peacekeepers at multiple places, while destroying all cameras they had at these places making it impossible for the peacekeepers to have proof of any illegal actions they were committing, while various extreme politicians in Israel have called for killing the Irish peacekeepers.

Most people aren’t paying attention but what we are witnessing here is an unprecedented modern day number of war crimes by a western funded nation on an hourly basis, while all this is going on they continue to kill hundreds and sometimes thousands per week in Gaza.

Israel has passed two laws banning the UN's Palestinian refugee agency (Unrwa) from operating in Israel, and in occupied areas under its control, by large majorities.

A number of countries, including the US the UK and Germany, have expressed serious concern about the move.

Ahead of the vote, the US State Department said it was "deeply concerned" by the move, saying the agency plays a "critical" role in distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip

They’re doing everything possible to maximise Palestinian deaths through whatever means. It’s quite incredible they’re still finding new ways to do this 13 months in

That genuinely made me gasp in horror, what a truly inhumane act, and yet this genocide continues to get a light shaking of the head by most of the world's powers, dark times.
The “we are soooo deeply concerned!!1” comments are so goddamn fake it hurts. All while they keep arming Israel. Absolute bonkers that this is the world we are living in.

They tried to make UNRWA an illegal organisation and link it to HAMAS but members of the UN said after a investigation this was found to be untrue.

Overdue but good news, feels like a step forward to ending this conflict.

I anticipate the usual crowd will *still* try to make a narrative that Israel are completely innocent and just defending themselves somehow...

What does this mean in practice? If the leave Israel will they be arrested only if a country gives them up?

No going there for them then! Doubt America will!

It’s all a big anti-semetic plot though 🫤

Looks like the end is near for Assad. I guess it makes more sense why Israel wanted to weaken Hezbollah now. Without Russia & Hezbollah it has been easy for the rebels

It's one potential upside* of the geopolitical situation swapping around this much, pretty clear that the status quo had been pretty uncomfortable for Assad.

*not that the rebels are good, but they're probably better and them winning would effectively end the Syrian war or otherwise encourage the disparate factions to formalise the future of the country.
