Anyone know why They Might Be Giants' 'Birdhouse in Your Soul' is climbing up the iTunes chart? Is it being used in an advert, promotion?

Yes, it's being used in an advert for Clarks' shoes! :D

:w00t: The Saturdays - Headlines is up to #50 in albums, I reckon this could be their first top 5 album!

Missing you still rising the E.P is at #62 now.

The promotion this week has been brilliant, Alan Carr Sunday with the repeat monday, then GMTV today and Magic Numbers on Saturday, should secure a 3/4 position for Missing you come a week Sunday I reckon.

I guess they are just a flop away from being dropped so I do hope this album is another flop really. "Missing you" doesn't deserve to do well.

Come on Hoosiers, so near and yet so far :(

OUCH. Missing you is fantastic, I think it deserves to do well I love the subtle club vibe to it. I know I'm a Sats fan but even so I genuinely like the song.

As for the album I have high hopes for it this year the promotion is great, plus it's rising everywhere Itunes,HMV and Amazon plus the new advert featuring The Saturdays themselves is coming out next week for Headlines so this should give it another push in the right direction.

I think it's a bit harsh to say you hope they are dropped if they are not to your taste then fair enough but I think hoping for a flop is a little harsh.

I hope you realise #50 is not very high at all on iTunes albums... Not even for a pre-order...

However, I agree it could be their first top 5 album as sales are very low ATM.

Can i say that The saturdays will not be dropped. They have nearly completed there 3rd Studio Album :) If fasination were to drop someone it would be Paloma Faith or Sugababes or Sophie Baxter.

Sugababes & Keisha are with Island  As well as Paloma if I recall correctly.

And please, spell Sophie Ellis-Bextor correctly. Thanks :P

Am I right in that the "new" Saturday's album includes 2 songs from their previous album (FIO and Ego)?

Out of all of them, only Sophie Ellis Bextor is signed to Fascination ... You made me laugh, thanks. :)

From previous album :

- Ego

- Forever Is Over

- One Shot

Current single :

- Missing you

New tracks :

- Hgher

- Died In Your Eyes

- Karma

- Puppet

Talk about being robbed  It screams low budget to me.

Also Paloma and Sugababes are more likely to stay signed than The Saturdays, Paloma would be on a lower contract so would need to pay less and Sugababes have sold millions of records that have made Island lots of money.

For £5.99 I think it's a great deal. Considering barely anyone bought Wordshaker (the 2nd album) it's a good idea putting the two singles from it on this new one. Think of 'Missing You' as the 3rd single to promote the album after FIO + Ego. One Shot has been given a remix and the remaining new songs sound fantastic from the previews.

The Saturdays may manage decent peaks but their overall sales are awful tbh so why wouldnt they be dropped if the sales are awful ? Palomas on island and why would she be dropped, her album is looking set to re-enter the top 15 this week and has been out for ages with consistent sales.

Not that I wish to get involved in some stupid arguement about the Sats in the I-Tunes thread about how they'll get dropped or not. But I'd just like to add that I think it's safe to say The Saturdays are probably on safer ground than the Sugababes are at the moment.

Regarding Paloma, dunno why people are suggesting she'll be dropped anytime soon. Album sold really well last I checked.

I actually think that the Sugababes are safe at the moment. If Island didn't believe in them they wouldn't already write and record new material. So unless Island suddenly goes bankrupt they'll release at least another one album.
